I need to reread this book as well. I was initially very excited about this book but found that over time that it led to ever-growing lists which was discouraging and eventually led to me abandoning being as discviplined about it as I set out to be. I still had a lot of positive takeaways, systems that I use on a slightly more relaxed basis to this day. I would definitely recommend reading "Four Thousand Weeks" and "The Four-Hour Work Week" to bring some balance. Especially if you have perfectionist tendencies, GTD can bring out a monster and ultimately be debilitating so proceed with caution. Looking online, I can tell I'm not alone in this sentiment.

Thanks for putting this together and sending it to me. I sort of used the system for years, but you have made me realise I've missed important bits off and undermined its effectiveness. Thanks so much - onward and upward.😊

@@boy_peeps If you go to August Bradleys channel, he has a series in which he goes in depth into the setup of the PPV system. If you follow along albeit verry time consuming because of the nature of the system, you should have a PPV system of your own.

i dont know if this will help anybody but something thats worked for me is removinf the speed, urgency and stress around what im doing.
i used to try to get motivated and hammer through. but that took so long to get the motivation and it didnt last.
now what i do is just do the things i need to do as calmly and relaxed and lazy as possible lol.
i think the reason it takes so much motivation is because your worried about the stress of doing the thing.
because its usually rushed and made stressful.
now i turn it into relaxation time. chore time or work time are for me relaxation time. i just start something slowly with a cup of coffee or maybe breakfast or? whatever. music.
then i do it slowly or at least as relaxed as possible. just focusing on things that come to mind as the next thing i should do. the next step.
if you want a bigger goal maybe you need a list or something. ive never used it on huge things.
but for getting chores and basic things done, job hunting. i turn it into chill time. i never do chores without adding in relaxation.
and in this way ive changed how i feel about these tasks. they used to be work, now i know its just gonna be me being productive and feeling good about it with not alot of effort 😂 and ill stop to sip coffee or eat snacks as i do lol.
i do move slower than i used to at getting things done time wise. but consistency wise which is where its at!! its easy now.
just pick a task mentally that you think you should be doing. go get a drink turn on some music or whatever? tv? and chill it out lol.

Dude, have you ever tried to conform to such a rigorous system over an extended period? I agree that it would work but the level of admin and self discipline to make it work is just so high. What people really need is a personal assistant or an admin clerk of their own so that they dont have to use their brain capacity, time and energy trying to stick to an effective but arduous system like this. Ive tried many of these types of systems. You end up spending more time than you'd want caught up in the admin, sorting notes, than you'd really want to budget for. I guess this just depends on the volume of notes you take and other demands on your schedule (your level of busyness), but this is just too much admin to make a business executive's life any less stressful.

That’s my beef with this too. If the time management system is too needy of constant management, it won’t work.

You are right, but this is not the way I want to live. Living like a computer and following rules in every part of my life might make me successful but unhappy. There are so many self help books and advices and still so many unhappy people especially in the US. Are they all lazy or dumb? I don't think so. Your method would put more stress on me I would fail after three days.

@michaelscott5382 I didn't read this book but I already live this way. And my take on this way of living is that.. With so many things to manage, it is less stressful to keep working memory 'less crowded' by listing things regularly. Cuz otherwise my cognitive resources goes into trying to remember all the list of stuff to do instead of evaluating whether my plans align with the goal.
