Here is a prime example of a wonderful 1965 Corvette convertible. This car is not 100% original, but has some great personal touches on the outside and under the hood that separates it from the crowd.

I was born in 1965, and always wanted a 1965 Stingray, but could never afford one. I settled for a 1974 Stingray back in the day. Then I joined a Corvette club, and made friends with other Corvette owners. One guy had a 1965 Stingray and he let me drive it. OMG! It was a total beast... absolutely nothing like my 1974. I've never forgotten that experience.

With this being older than the 3rd Generation Corvette it's more valuable. I have ridden in a Porsche 911, however not yet in a C2. Extremely rare to see one. Thanks for this video describing the interesting chrome wheels.

What's wrong with a 327 engine? With 300, 350, and 365 HP options, you get a lot of performance without all the weight of a 454. Plus, the 327 is almost bulletproof.

And don't forget '65 was the last year for the 327/375 horse fuel injection.

And the 375hp was the highest rating ever for this generation of small block.

Great car. I would like to correct a couple of things and add some info. First, the moniker Stingray was dropped for only one year. 1968 with the new design. Vette owners and lovers were so outraged at the change it was returned for the 1969 year! Although the 454 ci engine was great an could be modified, you gave no stats to qualify your praise. The L88 was a true monster of that time and any true vette fan knows the stats on that engine. The hood looks really nice. It was available in 1965 for the big block 396 ci engine and in 1966 for the 427 ci option. You may ask how do I know this stuff. Well, in 1967 I helped a friend build my first chev engine. A 1967 427 ci 425 hp that came from a wreckers yard. The car had 69 miles on it. We tore the engine down and made sure everything met specs. We added the aluminum heads from the L88 and the high rise Aluminum intake manifold plus the L88 cam. We put the engine in a 1965 vette and I the bought it from the owner. The estimated hp was 550. Standard tires , G70 wide oval and a standard 336-1 ratio diff. Results. O-60 mph 4.2 seconds with 2 people in the car. Lotsa fun!

I haven’t pulled the heads yet, so not sure about about what pistons it has. It’s an April 1970 512 block which was used on the LS6 454. I have pulled the oil pan and it has a 4 bolt main with a factory forged steel crank and dimple rods. It has Winters aluminum heads and a Winters mid-rise intake. I run it on 110 octane race gas.

C2s we’re from 63-67. Not 68. If you are supposed to be a classic Corvette spokesperson, know your info,

      Exactly
      I have owned a 65 Roadster L79 since 1973.
A lot of these videos called them Stingrays instead of Sting Ray's.
Then they get upset when I correct them.

And should have only been 63-66 but the debut of the C3 scheduled for 67 was pushed back to 68 when they couldn't get it ready in time.

if you're going to make a video and act like you know about the old Sting Ray's, at least get your facts correct. C2 was 1963 to 1967, not 1968

This guy talks too much but says very little. The car is 100% NON original. It has bee bastardized.
