- We are out this week at Umtanum Recreation Site outside of Yakima, Washington doing our campground review. This place boast great views of the Yakima River valley with its interesting scenery at this BLM campground.
This campground is fairly good for solar l with all sites having access to solar . These campgrounds cater to smaller rig setups with site 4 being the best of them all. This would work for vans, tents and smaller setups, plus only having 6 total sites all of this for 15$ a night (at time of filming 4/23).
The cons of the campground is that its right directly connected to the day use area, which does offer a cool suspension bridge , hiking access and a good place to start floating the Yakima river as it is the most North of the 4 BLM campgrounds.
This is a good campground if you had water toys ( boats or ski doo's) as they have great access to get things in/ out of the water. Also boast a good day use area with access to place your float items in the river.

Nice small campground
With only 6 spots , you know you will have minimal distractions from enjoying all those Yakima valley views !!!

Very small with some great views. Its a winner for sure !
We stayed here back in late June or early July. I managed to fit our 32 foot travel trailer in site number 4. And you are correct, there was really nice shade in the evenings and a nice breeze. Only stayed one night, and the cost was only $7.50 with our America the Beautiful pass. Great little campground.
Would be good for a quick overnight for sure !!!
