Human techniques are apparently awesome when used by an elite Sayin. Back when the bad guys used scouters they were constantly warning each other that the Z fighters can manipulate, and concentrate their Ki. Apparently, while our martial artists can't match up to one of Frieza's soldiers, they possess a skill that is very uncommon, even among the already uncommon extra-planetary fighters.
B.S. It was the fact that Goku and the rest of the Z Fighters TRAINED in martial arts is what gave them the edge against stronger opponents. If you ever watched DBZ you'd see that the enemy came to us, not the other way around. Sadly though this guy who made the video maybe has the wrong perspective on the story, I see the opposite side of this coin.
I like the fact that master Roshi and the other characters are continuing to train in the back ground. As a martial artist, We are always training, even if it isn't to be best. We just want to be better then we were yesterday.
The thing that bothers me about this is the sudden jump. Roshi wasn't strong enough to help anywhere from Radditz to Buu, but suddenly in TOP he is. The established way power levels work, pretty well any fighter that Roshi could even remotely keep up with, SSJ Blue characters should have been able to wipe out armies of.
Roshi retired. He was not side lined. He could have helped against Raditz. He could have trained and kept. The show hints that there are technights to improving power and skill other than fighting and exercise. It's like once a character reaches a certain level of power, all others know what that amount of power feels like and can no work on gaining that power. A master who already knows can simply teach people how to obtain that power.
I believe Roshi is immortal in a sense he can't die of old age and when he goes max power he is channeling more of his life force giving him access to greater amounts of ki. The cost though is felt when he expends energy and ki and thus risks his life and as time goes on he either improves the technique but is drained of energy (thus we see him lounging or womanizing all the time) or he is storing energy for when he needs it, acting as a reserve for when he uses max power it is using years worth of ki and power in a short amount of time.
we need a roshi movie of him in his young days and how he became as the show called him in dragon ball "The god of martial arts" I wanna know what fight he had to over come to win that title
Roshi's form is quite literally a physical version of the Kamehameha. Meaning it draws on the latent untapped energy of the body. Thus is why it drains him to use it. Like the Kamehameha its reaching into the unreachable depths and pulling up the most concentrated dregs of power. That's why training with it helps because each dip can slowly be controlled to use less power. Additionally, Master Roshi drank from the fountain of eternal youth giving him his longevity.
I always assumed it was similar to the ascended and Ultra Super Saiyan forms, just forcing your Ki to amp your power and causing your muscles to bulge as a side effect, also after blowing up the moon Roshi was actually exhausted and his Ki reserves were gone
Still makes no sense how he beat Tien randomly. He's power increased so much it can never be explained but it was awesome to see him in the tournament of power
The forms are probably the same as SSJ Grade 2 and 3, and what Cell was able to do when Trunks realized Grade 3's drawback. Roshi just learned the technique a long time ago, and has figured out when and when not to use it. He probably realized long ago the drawbacks that Frezia did on Namek, Goku and Vegeta did in the time chambers, and Trunks did against Cell. It's not a form that is good for fighting, as it slows you down and drains your stamina. But its good for powering up a Ki blast, and in some cases the power advantages outweigh the speed and stamina loses (like when fighting Friezas troops in RoF). It also probably does not mix well with his psuedo instinct technique. So its a choice of stay thin and move at his best while wasting as little stamina as possible, or buffing up and being better at attacks at the cost.
Ok i'm confuse in the episode where they are celebrating Turtle's birthday they have 1.000 candles because he is 1.000 years old. In the same episode the Turtle says that Master Roshi got him when he was still a little turtle so don't that makes Roshi 1.000 + older?
He's like Capt. Jack Sparrow, but he became successful, he got the phoenix youth and the eternal youth bush to feel young. Yes add to that legend that he drank from the fountain of youth.
Roshi says he drank the elixir of immortality in dragon ball, he also trains with goku and krillin, and then another 3 years with Yamcha and krillin. He says training is a way of life for him too. It just doesn’t show him training. He also got a power boost for blocking women out of his mind in super. Also Tien is an alien, three eye tribe.
the buff form where also used by Trunks in teh cell saga, vegeta when he used fina l flash for the first time, even Cell himself used it when he got desperate fighting gohan, and goku used it once but more as an informational sence for the vieuwer. everyone can bulk up, its just not always beneficial due to the lower speed
If I was the writer. I be ready to get master Roshi a wish of being back as a young person again. Something like age 18. Then see what he can really do.
Salad Saiyan did a series on that premise, and alternate one where he wishes to be young again and all the Z Fighters do everything they can to get as strong as possible, including Chi Chi training with Goku before and after her pregnancy with Gohan, and the story goes very differently - like it's Piccolo who goes to King Kai, not Goku!

She injured her back via breaking it trying to help prevent a morbidly obese elderly patient from falling and due to the fact it was early-maybe mid 90s, back surgery was archaic... in the sense they'd just cut open a hole around your spine to put in a titanium cage + rods to keep your spine in a healing position... my best friend in existence, brother from another mother essentially, non- blood related but you get it. his mom had the exact same surgery minus hers NOT healing right to the point she had an open hole in herback and in constant pain with not enough money to get any help... i think our healthcare is a joke cuz they should NOT have left her like that. i'll NEVER forget seeing that hole in her back to where if you flashed a light you could see a bit of her spine. exact same spot, same break, same surgery; just wrong healing. idk what happened but yeah). moving forward. or rather going back to move forward i ALWAYS wanted to go across the world and "learn" martial arts or a hidden one / secret style from a remote recluse Master and enter a world tournament or even underground one. it was just so appealing. so i grew up hyper masculine, loved working out, loved hangin out with the girls at all ages, most of my main friends were females at all ages so i know all their mind games and nonsense, and i did eventually get guy friends. and i was very selective and they liked the same things i did. later we'd get into working out to look like the DBZ characters that we'd watch and draw, and pretend fight, and all that. other friends would show me how to sweet talk girls. and another best friend (RIP bro i miss you tons) gave me untold confidence. any room he went into he instantly LIT IT UP, with happiness, brought happiness, he was happy incarnate... if you were down, he'd find a way to lift you up and make you smile. i hate that he's gone... anyways to wrap it up. childhood was awesome til oldman had to go away for a while and though he did come "home" - he wasn't truly home home.. his mind was elsewhere and since my mom can NOT exist without him, she was also mentally elsewhere. so that's where i got into skateboarding, going out and rippin'n'runnin wild, got a car at 16/17 and started going to shows in the state capital 1-2x a weekend to see local metal bands and big metal bands that would come from all over. seen some pretty gnarly BIGBANDS from all over the US and other countries at such a SMALL and relatively unknown venue. even had to drive about 3-6hrs to go to another venue that was also later torn down where we saw even bigger named bands. i'll always remember radio rebellion tour.
Um there is lots of moments in Super where Roshi isn't thinking about girls. Hell he's involved in a lot of battles in Super, maybe even more the Dragon Ball. In Z, outside the World's Strongest movie, Roshi wasn't involved in battles at all. His whole character in Z is a horny old man after young girls. While some of that carries over to Super, Super gives him a lot more moments than Z ever did in letting him be a martial arts veteran.
I’m hoping that whatever path Gohan has trailblazed with “more from his human side” beast form… some of that power up could be learned by the other humans
Roshi's true prodigy HUMAN student is Krillin. At this point he has surpassed both Roshi and Yamcha in pure strength. Tien Shinhan is probably on par with him but he isn't entirely human. Roshi can still defeat Krillin because he has other techniques that can defeat his pupil. I just wonder why Krillin doesn't pick up some of them, like the Thunder Shock Surprise and an enhanced version of the Max Power form from him. Krillin didn't die and get sent to Kaio-sama, but if he did I'm pretty confident that Kaio Ken is something he, Piccolo and Tien could've mastered. Imagine how much of a boost these three would have with that technique. Especially Piccolo with his regeneration and Orange form could possibly reach multipliers with it that Goku couldn't. And then going back to Krillin, he could combine Kaio Ken, Max form and Selflessness state to make something else of it. Imagine how powerful he could still become.
Well when you are immortal you tend to learn a thing or two. In Rochis case I'd say just about absolute control over his body. Honestly the only thing holding him back is his humanity
Weirdly Frieza is the only one who can do the super buff form and gain speed instead of losing it, but then again he's got unique physiology. Eh, well I suppose Broly can also gain tons of muscle and still gain speed too. There's probably a trick to doing it. Roshi in the ToP didn't lose speed either.
Because that unnecessary waste of Ki might kill him. Keep in mind that DBZ's Ki System parallels Tao Cultivation and Magic somewhat loosely. Muten Roshi was a Mortal Human, but through his training with Korin and Kami, he developed the appropriate Neidan (Internal Alchemy/Biochemistry) to make his Longevity possible. His Fitness develops Ki, Ki refuels his body in addition to his Magic. Roshi's Ki Level is right at the threshold to maintain his Longevity indefinitely, but he's still Human. He's no Beerus or Frieza, whose species and individual bodies naturally generate significantly more Ki to waste on Death Beams and flying. If Roshi uses up too much Ki, He'll no longer meet the Longevity Threshold and will become Mortal again, maybe even die on the spot from Old Age. This would explain his overwhelming power level reserve, but his conservative Ki Expenditure, instead relying on Magic like the Evil Containment Wave (which have lower thresholds to achieve to perform) rather than depleting himself with frequent Kamehameha attacks.
One is an intergalactic dictator. The other is literally a hermit whose secret technique becomes obsolete as fast as you can say "piggy piggy". I'm excited to see how you square the circle here...
Everybody says that the strongest human besides obviously Gohan Trunks and Goten is Krillin but it's not Krillin the strongest human has in probably will always be Master roshi
6:00 Kei Control ass in not using your full power level?? Freeza Actually does Suppress his power.. & even stated "Congratulations your the first person to see me in this form".. meaning normally he supress's it to conserve power. Soooo.. yeah.. im out lol
I always wondered why dont he low tier charchers like roshi krillin tien and piccilo learn kaioken it would be pergect for them and make them more relvant mostly piccolo conserding his namekian healing
Doesn't King Kai say something to the effect that the technique he was going to teach Goku, is something even he hasn't mastered? It's been a long time since I've watched that arc, but that would kind of explain why the kaioken is a signature technique of Goku and we don't see all the fighters that trained with king Kai use it.
This is why I don't consider SS grade 3 ro be a "saiyan form". Too many other races can do the same thing; we just only see a saiyan do this stuff passively (Goku vs. Vegeta is very much larger than Goku normally) or in SS grade 3 and Legendary SS.
Good video, but I disagree about freezer having poor control of his ki, he keeps bringing out at what output he is fighting 30% 50% etc, he also uses the radar to Chek the power level of a namekian to brag about how with that power level the best technique should be a claw attack, not that jaja sure if really that's the best way of spending that amount of power but he and the capitan ginyu are apparently the only ones that take in consideration that people can fluctuate their power levels, sure freezer doesn't feel or detect ki by himself but he atleast spend some time checking himself out and what is his power in each form, freezer losses because he got tired and hurt a lot along the fight and when he goes 100% he is spending more and more power than he can recover, in that regard I would put freezer close to roshi
Super is so trash. Roshi shouldn't have survived the tournament of power. Roshi should be about radditz strength by the end of z. But in super roshi can take a kamaha from ssj blue... Yea that makes sense smh
"Master roshi form is similar to frieza becouse he buff himself", this is basically what you said here...also half of this is disinformation becouse no one ever said he convert life form in ki and bla bla bla he said it multiple times he just can't stay in that form for long becouse of his old body, you did take points of the story and did put some words on it as if the explaination is really what happened, you dragon ball youtubers need to chill out, between who talk about dragon ball for views without even watch it and who talk about dragon ball inventing straight unexisting things you guys becoming a plague

She injured her back via breaking it trying to help prevent a morbidly obese elderly patient from
falling and due to the fact it was early-maybe mid 90s, back surgery was archaic... in the sense
they'd just cut open a hole around your spine to put in a titanium cage + rods to keep your spine
in a healing position... my best friend in existence, brother from another mother essentially, non-
blood related but you get it. his mom had the exact same surgery minus hers NOT healing right
to the point she had an open hole in herback and in constant pain with not enough money to get
any help... i think our healthcare is a joke cuz they should NOT have left her like that. i'll NEVER
forget seeing that hole in her back to where if you flashed a light you could see a bit of her spine.
exact same spot, same break, same surgery; just wrong healing. idk what happened but yeah).
moving forward.
or rather going back to move forward
i ALWAYS wanted to go across the world and "learn" martial arts or a hidden one / secret style
from a remote recluse Master and enter a world tournament or even underground one. it was
just so appealing. so i grew up hyper masculine, loved working out, loved hangin out with the
girls at all ages, most of my main friends were females at all ages so i know all their mind games
and nonsense, and i did eventually get guy friends. and i was very selective and they liked the
same things i did. later we'd get into working out to look like the DBZ characters that we'd watch
and draw, and pretend fight, and all that. other friends would show me how to sweet talk girls.
and another best friend (RIP bro i miss you tons) gave me untold confidence. any room he went
into he instantly LIT IT UP, with happiness, brought happiness, he was happy incarnate... if you
were down, he'd find a way to lift you up and make you smile. i hate that he's gone... anyways
to wrap it up. childhood was awesome til oldman had to go away for a while and though he did
come "home" - he wasn't truly home home.. his mind was elsewhere and since my mom can NOT
exist without him, she was also mentally elsewhere. so that's where i got into skateboarding,
going out and rippin'n'runnin wild, got a car at 16/17 and started going to shows in the state capital
1-2x a weekend to see local metal bands and big metal bands that would come from all over.
seen some pretty gnarly BIGBANDS from all over the US and other countries at such a SMALL and
relatively unknown venue. even had to drive about 3-6hrs to go to another venue that was also
later torn down where we saw even bigger named bands. i'll always remember radio rebellion tour.
"KAI-OH KEN! KAI! MY NAME IS IN IT!!"
Master Roshe is technique can be improved upon by flickering it off and on or by merging it with a Kaioken buff form + Kaioken =
We must master the art of piece in addition to the art of WAR. !! What a LEGEND he is. !!
I’m hoping that whatever path Gohan has trailblazed with “more from his human side” beast form… some of that power up could be learned by the other humans
...hold up.... He's the dude....
Looks like that Cartel De Santa dude.
Using Baki as examples to explain Dragonball is beyond insulting to Dragonball.
Well when you are immortal you tend to learn a thing or two. In Rochis case I'd say just about absolute control over his body. Honestly the only thing holding him back is his humanity

Muten Roshi is one of the original Giga Chads, period. 🤣🤣🤣
If anyone is wondering, he's 319 years old in Dragon Ball's first season.
No no no don't even put my boy roshi in the same class as any of the old man from Baki he was dead in one round roshi would just blast U.H
I would watch a prequel about young Roshi
I always thought his skinny form is his transformation and buff his natural state.
"Kay o Ken"
I THOUGH HE IDENTIFIED AS A TURTLE SO HE LIVED LIKE A GALAPAGOS
Weirdly Frieza is the only one who can do the super buff form and gain speed instead of losing it, but then again he's got unique physiology. Eh, well I suppose Broly can also gain tons of muscle and still gain speed too. There's probably a trick to doing it. Roshi in the ToP didn't lose speed either.
If his ass can compete on the TOP he could of helped in the Saiyan Saga.
What you guys put Roshis moon busting Kamehameha? I know the official level is 180+ but personally i feel it should be much higher.
Why did he never learn how to fly though…?
This would explain his overwhelming power level reserve, but his conservative Ki Expenditure, instead relying on Magic like the Evil Containment Wave (which have lower thresholds to achieve to perform) rather than depleting himself with frequent Kamehameha attacks.
hmmm interesting...
I refer to Roshi's roided out form as Incelo-ken.
One is an intergalactic dictator. The other is literally a hermit whose secret technique becomes obsolete as fast as you can say "piggy piggy". I'm excited to see how you square the circle here...
its only became obsolete because the user is a weakling, if the user someone like jiren then its will be usefull
Frieza was an interplanetary dictator, not an intergalactic one.
In the immortal words of mr. Popo and Perfect Cell:
-"All those squares make a circle."
He has a mid buff form that retains speed. He uses against Tien Shin Han.
Because Goku never teaches techniques for some reason.
Master roshi is about 330 years old at the beginning of Dragon Ball
Og of full bulk power before freeza, frost and the ascended saiyans
He literally lives on a lonely island of course he's going to be a horned up dude
If he is immortal imagine if he using the time chamber for 100 thousand years then getting out with huge boost. In this show
He'd be insane and over life.
jiren was so strong that I would just send a weak man to die to disqualify him
Don't know about the rest of you but I'd like to see some humans get a massive power boost.
Favorite Master Roshi moment?
All
He's probably 100+ years old
Older than 100 for sure
Krillian is the strong human. let that sink in
I want Roshi to teach the Mac power form to Krillin
Its explained in the Arale Filler.
His Power gains from the "Gag"-Character Lore.
My fucking father!!!
Tien > krillin... By far. Always have been... But now theres confusion
as cell said: its easy
Masters of BUFF form: Master Roshi,Frieza,Jiren,Broly.
Capping human’s strength in a fucking Anime is bullshit. It’s an anime for crying out loud. 🤦🏾♂️
fn... old lol
Master roshi gotta be about 250
Sayians have a buff form too lol
Yooo i guessed 300!
350
Jackie Chun and Roshi are different people, get your facts straight.
😂😂😂❤
roshi IS the most powerful full human, period. love krillin but he cant beat master roshi
What about Tien?
@@potsdam28 Roshi still wins
@@CappyLarou last time they fought Roshi surrendered
@@potsdam28 Akira toriyama himself said that roshi is the strongest human on the planet. Why are you arguing with me moron?
190
80
Roshi in the tournament was nothing, but plot armor.
Yes and it's cool
So was Goku.
Phirst
This is why I don't consider SS grade 3 ro be a "saiyan form". Too many other races can do the same thing; we just only see a saiyan do this stuff passively (Goku vs. Vegeta is very much larger than Goku normally) or in SS grade 3 and Legendary SS.
You do know that there isn’t an I in freeza
Frieza.
ai voice
Goku did it too against Vegeta. Just not as big.
Good video, but I disagree about freezer having poor control of his ki, he keeps bringing out at what output he is fighting 30% 50% etc, he also uses the radar to Chek the power level of a namekian to brag about how with that power level the best technique should be a claw attack, not that jaja sure if really that's the best way of spending that amount of power but he and the capitan ginyu are apparently the only ones that take in consideration that people can fluctuate their power levels, sure freezer doesn't feel or detect ki by himself but he atleast spend some time checking himself out and what is his power in each form, freezer losses because he got tired and hurt a lot along the fight and when he goes 100% he is spending more and more power than he can recover, in that regard I would put freezer close to roshi
blah blah roshi isnt even at like 1000 power level.. him fighting Jiren is a joke, the wholee tourny of power is a joke
But he couldnt stand up to Raditz...
Super is so trash. Roshi shouldn't have survived the tournament of power. Roshi should be about radditz strength by the end of z. But in super roshi can take a kamaha from ssj blue... Yea that makes sense smh
My bad that was krillin but that don't make sense either and roshi being this strong in super makes no sense
Toriama is an idiot
Say the nobody in the yt comment section
Now he's dead.
Master roshi is an immortal he could be millions of years old
