This is without a doubt the best video I’ve watch of two guys who I’ve got the utmost respect for. I’m honored to call you both colleagues and champions!
If is THE Leonard, congrats on being part of 1 of the greatest Defenses ever. As a Packer Fan during that time and a lover of defenses, watching Bears and Giant defenses was absolutely magical and most NFL fans look back at that time in awe of how great they were.
I'm a lifelong Redskins fan that enjoyed football at its peak, in the 80s and 90s. And this... this was awesome. In our hay day, there's no team we had to respect and fear more than Bill Parcells, LT, and the New York Giants.
I'm a lifelong Redskins fan. We were the 2nd best team in 86' (crushed the bills in that regular season) and lost to the Giants 3 times that season. I remember Jay Schroeder needing help to walk to the locker room and all that paper swirling in the windy Meadowlands. Redskins fans know more than any other team's fans how great that Giants Defense was.
I Watched This Again, For About The 92nd Time !!! This Is Such A Awesome Interview, Between Coach, & Lawerance !!! It"s 110% Entertaining & The Closeness As Family Is GREAT !!!!... Super Excellent View !!!!
Absolutely Cool interview the Greatest coach ever , Well my favorite and hands down greatest LB ever , and I'm a BROWNS fan , they don't have head coaches like this today and the respect
I was 12 his rookie year and being a GIANTS fan at that age back then, you got laughed at alot. First time I saw him play, I was like "holy sh%t, where'd they get this guy??!! He'll go down as my favorite pro athlete of all time!!
I love this old story of Brad Van Pelt & Harry Carson watching LT make one mental error after another (during practice was a rookie) and because of his speed and strength still making the play for a loss. They turned, looking at each other and without words knew their young teammate was going to be virtually unstoppable. How right they were
Life long Cowboys fan when i first saw Lawrence Taylor he was a one-man gang and he terrorized the Cowboys for years! didn't matter where he lined up or who you assigned to stop him he always made the play or was around the ball.
LT is a GOAT! Greatest Of All Time! I feel the best overall pkayer of all time! Im a Giants fan keep in mind! And the Big Tuna!, Greatest Coach Of All time!, this was a awsome video! Thanks
Coach parcells is a product of the TOM LANDRY coaching tree, who invented the 4-3 defense as well as the SHOTGUN, he is the Greatest head coach of all time!
dnice575 Laundry did not invent the shotgun. He started using it in the early 1970's as his line couldn't protect his QB at the time ( Morton or Staubach, I forget) As far as the 4-3 defense, he sure did invent it. Do you know why? Everyone used to play the Oklahoma 5-2 but the Giants had more good line backers than down lineman and Tom wanted to take advantage of the talents of a young Sam Huff. Tom Laundry knew his stuff for sure. How NY ever let him leave (Vince Lombardi also) ?????
you prolly dont give a shit but does someone know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I love any tricks you can give me
@Camden Mayson I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Bill Parcels and Lt were a winning combination! Lt was the Greatest defensive player of all time , and Bill was definitely one of the the best Nfl coaches we have ever seen. I grew up an Eagles fan but had so much respect for these two men!
Nick Viola I felt the same way about those Eagle teams (1986-'92 or so) except for your scumbag head coach Buddy Ryan. When a coach puts a bounty on a player and encourages your guys to intentionally injure star players, well you become a piece of shit. It's indefensible!!!!!!? BTW, do you watch Golic & Wingo or did you watch Mike & Mike when they were together? Funny how Golic never said a single thing about the Giants even though no team in the NFL gave NY a tougher time then that group of Eagles. Their defense was every bit as good as the Giants and Cunningham gave the Giants fits!!! Why, I'll tell you why. Golic didn't want to have to defend the crap that Ryan was doing, cheap shots, intent to injure etc, etc. Hey, when a class act like Mark Bavaro says he was looking to run your head coach over on the sidelines, well, you know there's something seriously wrong with him. The saying goes, when you have nothing good to say about a man, say nothing so, Buddy fucking Ryan, here's nothing to a nobody
What a Great Interview... Two Legends... Arguably "The Best" Coach & Player Combo ever... Just Like: Lombardy & Starr Walsh & Montana I'm a Packer fan myself but I've got a Ton of RESPECT for these TWO LEGENDS... Glad they both are in the HOF... RESPECT Always...
I've always been a Giants fan, but my first interest in the NFL must have been when I was six, and that interest was Bart Star. He was my first favorite player. I've always admired the Packers and the GOAT Lombardy, another guy I read a lot about. I agree with you 100%.
Bill Parcells choice at the time of this interview to coach one team would be the 49ers. Man I would have taken him in a heartbeat. As a Niner fan growing up in the 80's I hated the Giants, but the hatred was more of a respect that that team would do in match ups against the Niners. So many epic grinders in those games. Gotta love Parcells and LT for all the great memories I had on those Monday Night games in the late 80's against my 49ers!.
6 років тому+1
HitsTownUSA, I believe Bill Walsh did just fine. Not to mention the other coaches who coached under him, still using the West Coast Offense. Before Jerry Rice even arrived in San Francisco, San Francisco was winning Super Bowls. Then they took off to another level with him. And this is coming from a life long fan of the Dallas Cowboys since 1970. What Bill Walsh did with the 49ers, through the 80s when only one AFC team, and by the same one, won the Super Bowl, (Raiders, 1980, 1983). And the 49ers hasn't been able to do anything close since.
WAYNE CADDELL How true! If you remember, the AFC dominated the 1970's led by Pittsburgh & Miami and only Dallas was able to seriously compete year after year. The 1980's we're all about SF, Washington, NYG & Chicago. Two things fuel such domination, defense (great defense) and strong QB play. Great coaching has a bit to do with it too!!!
Parcell's understanding of the personalities of his players, and his awareness of what makes people tick, is the unmentioned skill here. His intuition regarding motivation and reward for his players is his greatest skill, in my opinion. Outstanding intelligence regarding evaluation, motivation and discipline, in the proper doses. Genius.
I'm a cowboys fan and listening to Coach Parcells press conferences on Monday mornings after Sunday's game were very entertaining!! He's the opposite of Belicheck. Just like this interview, very engaging and funny! I sure miss him. Wish his last year would have turned out differently!!
Nice call out for Dorsett in last question when Parcells named him the hardest offence player he had to scheme against. Dorsett is massively underrated and was so dangerous with speed to scare defenders and defensive coaches to death. LT... well I tell you this QB’s didn’t last 20 seasons with him on the field. LT was a class apart
Man what a helluva interview. This is the type of interview where the reporter really just sits back and coasts. It would be outta this world to see mj Phil Kobe and shaq do an hour long sit down! Good post
Those 49ers and Giants battles of the 80's and 90's were legendary!!...they always kicked our Niners' butt. Images of #89 Bavarro dragging helpless 49ers around that Candlestick turf still haunt me today😳!!! I was fortunate to witness these 2 legends. LT is still the most dominant OLB, ever.
Football was great as a Giants fan it was fun couldn't wait for sunday's to hear Madden & Summeral on cbs. Plus the natural grass the throwback uniforms. The real men hitting.
Very true..he changed pass blocking..no one could block him..thats why most teams don't use running backs now in pass protection..he would just run over backs..most teams had to change their blocking..shift a tight end or tackle over to block him
Ramon Quiles Great story. I remember reading one of the local papers that had a story when LT was rookie, Van Pelt, Carson, Kelly were watching LT in practice making mistake after mistake and yet Hr kept disrupting everything the offense tried to do and they were laughing their ass off at how amazing he was.
Hes done. You're delusional. He is the best but even the best lose to age hence Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, and soon Lebron James. Age is like the streets, UNDEFEATED.
UA-cam first!!!!!! Video over 8 years old an not 1 single dislike!!!!!! Usually people do it jus to do it 🤷. That shows how amazing an the RESPECT these 2 hav!!!
I was a small college MLBr with a moment or two on the field, there's nothing like really sticking the guy holding the ball with that that perfect hit! Just like the batter connecting with the sweet spot of the bat. Only paralleling with LT for me was some of our crazy Center's (who did bounce around the NFL for a minute) and myself's off field antics. Such a shame we had grow up.
Good comment and you can certainly make that argument. I like Vince Lombardi. Belichek was 43 wins and 57 losses, got fired in Cleveland and was 5-11 with Drew Bledsoe before Brady took over. Vince Lombardi's first season with the Packers he went 7-5 with a team that had won on 1 game the previous season. Lombardi won 5 NFL championships in 7 years and never had a losing season. Lombardi's Packers won the first 2 superbowls. He left the Packers after the second Superbowl win. When Lombardi took over the Redskins he totally turned that program around immediately. Sadly Lombardi got sick and passed away at 57 so he didn't get a chance to coach longer. George Allen took the Redskin team that Lombardi largely built and went to the Superbowl losing to the Miami Dolphins in 72. Belichek is good but Lombardi won and won the right way. He was never accused of or fined for cheating etc. Lombardi was unbelievable but in the end lcan't expect people to be historians and every generation is allowed to have their favorites.
Grew up in East Rutherford. Born a giant fan. I used to sit by there cars after practice to get autographs. Lt car was never out there .he left his own way. But I seen him at a travel agent office next to my house. I said Lt can I get your autograph. He said son not now I missed my flight to Dallas. How bout we just beat the shit out um. I said he'll yeah
Bill parcells is the greatest because every organization he went to turned it around with him but unfortunately he didn't stay around long enough on those teams to take him where they should have gone what other coach can go to the Jets Dallas and turn that franchise around only him
As a pats fan and fan of football I thinks Tom Brady is greatest play all teams but Mr Taylor is bar far the best defense play I have ever seen and his coach on defense was Mr Taylor man I wish Mr Taylor was a pat he is one of the great plays to ever play the came wish he was a pats ayer
It's amazing how LT is the alpha even in the presence of the big tuna (Parcells is never #2 especially not to one of his players) and always gets the last word. LT is without a doubt the greatest defender in the history of football and went to the same college as Michael Jordan around the same time
Really! there is only one great LT and thats Lawrence Taylor the only thing that came out of the other lt was tears he was the biggest crybaby in the league
Even though it's been ten years. I still say Lawrence Taylor could probably still scare offenses enough and play good defense. You just have to be careful of his shoulder and his knees though. He's getting fairly seasoned. LOL
crazy combo of talent...LT, Parcells, Bellicheck...all hungry to succeed...all addicts with a focus to do whatever it takes year in and out. Superior talent plus an addicts focus will never be beat. rare fusion of connection called the NY Giants
They where not laughing at him saying buffalo. If you listen (and look at) to it again, just before LT says buffalo, someone says "The Jets" to which LT gives the stare of death :).
Laurence greatest player I have watched, not even a giants fan. But he sounds loaded or on something? Or maybe just him in general? But a great player no matter what demons he has caught in his life.
It’s a shame Coach Parcells left the Dallas Cowboys when he did. Coach Parcells would have taken that team to another Super Bowl. Jerry should have put him in charge of all football decisions and operations. Tony Romo would have entered his prime years sooner and BP would’ve drafted the right players to keep the team dominant for a long time.
Lombardi was another coach who treated or coached everyone differently. Coaches that can't compete on a regular basis are usually phoneys. A player will always see this. Pete Carrol is an example of this.
This is without a doubt the best video I’ve watch of two guys who I’ve got the utmost respect for. I’m honored to call you both colleagues and champions!

crazy combo of talent...LT, Parcells, Bellicheck...all hungry to succeed...all addicts with a focus to do whatever it takes year in and out. Superior talent plus an addicts focus will never be beat. rare fusion of connection called the NY Giants
Jeff Porcaro Groove tom coughlin was the offensive coordinator also
Elijah barber coughing was the receivers coach . Ron Erhard was the coordinator
Jackson Anderson This Giant fan didn't forget that. George Young was mistaken in not giving the Head coaching to Little Bill over Ray Handley.
The Big Tuna......
goat
They where not laughing at him saying buffalo. If you listen (and look at) to it again, just before LT says buffalo, someone says "The Jets" to which LT gives the stare of death :).
Those big guys on those Aluminium chairs. #HOFChairs
Laurence greatest player I have watched, not even a giants fan. But he sounds loaded or on something? Or maybe just him in general? But a great player no matter what demons he has caught in his life.
Greatest Giants team of all 4 super bowl teams to me was the 86 GIANTS
The Jim Brown of defense...
audio is horrible on this. LT is still the greatest to ever play the game. Wish Steiner and Parcell's mics were better.
What nobody realizes Taylor played every position on the defensive line quarterbacks would burn timeouts cause they didn't know where he was
LT on something here...
Only one LT many try there will never be another
Played pissed off, fast, hard, angry
Thanks LT
...I did it again, didn't I? SON You are doings things that we don't even have.
BRANDON STEINER
HUH?
Volume is terrible...you can hardly understand what they're saying....
I don't understand how you have an interview like this with these two legends and have No Microphones. Poor production job everyone.
The tuna before he turned tuna
Lombardi was another coach who treated or coached everyone differently.
Coaches that can't compete on a regular basis are usually phoneys. A player will always see this. Pete Carrol is an example of this.
