I have owned these for several months and I absolutely love them for all the reasons pointed out in your review. Something else amazing is their customer service. The best I have ever experienced for any product. When I received my set I had 2 duplicates. I contacted them asking if I could swap them for the missing colors. Their response was to send me another complete set, no charge AND......I had them within 2 days. Don't hate me....lol but I'm swimming in Arteza pencils. I can't wait for the new colors. Anyone hesitating...don't except maybe to wait for the new colors. Happy New Year!

I purchased a set of the Arteza Expert Pencils a couple of months ago and your review falls right in line with my evaluation of them. I love them and keep them handy to use in conjunction with my Prisma Premier pencils. I love your video's. You're very articulate and very thorough in explaining and covering every aspect of evaluating a product. Keep up the good work.

I have been thinking about buying these pencils, and I have to say this is the best, most thorough, thoughtful, and most complete pencil review I have ever watched. I will be checking out your other reviews before I purchase art supplies. You answered all the questions I usually want answered. Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

I have these and they’re the most used mid-range pencil I use. The only thing for me is that the colours are a bit too bright and we could do with some neutrals, as you said, although I use complementary colours to tone down where I need it. I also found that the golden writing comes off at some point, so it helps if one adds some transparent sticky tape over the barrel to preserve the colour name.

Great review! I own these pencils and really like them, too. I also like they way they feel in my hand. Barrel feels more like a poly than a prisma. While I do love prismas, it is frustrating when the newly sharpened tip snaps and that they wear down quickly when using moderate pressure. I love the Artezas as a happy medium between polys and prismas at a very reasonable investment. I’d love to see you review the watercolor pencils which I’ve recently purchased but haven’t used. Thanks!

I have the Arteza pencils. I totally agree with you - they are a wonderful bargain! They stay sharp, they go down smooth and have great pigmentation! I think I got mine for under $30 when they were on sale on Amazon several months ago. It would be great to have more colors! Thank you for your review, Claire! Blessings~

Great review! I bought the 48 set over the summer and LOVE them. So much so that I asked my mom to get me the 72 set for Christmas (which ended up being in November because they went on amazon flash sale for $18 lol). My avi and banner are actually both WIPs using arteza’s and prismacolors together. They compliment each other perfectly. I love that they’re pigmented but a bit more translucent than the prismas, which gives a opportunity for some glazing effects that are a bit more difficult with the prismas. Plus, they lay down backgrounds and big areas really fast as a first layer since there is so much core to them and they’re so smooth (and you rarely have to re-sharpen). I would recommend these pencils to anyone and will totally be buying another set, especially if more colors are going to be added.

I have these for awhile and they are so creamy.Glad to see you do a wonderful review on them.Tip I learned the hard way is take clear nail polish and polish the names so they do not rub off and fade.

Hi Claire. I have the Arteza watercolor pencils that I like to use for larger coloring spaces without water. I just ordered the 72 Peofessional Pencils after watching your video. I love my Prismas but wanted to try something a little softer than the Polychromos so these sound like what I'm looking for! Your reviews are always very helpful!

Great review! I got my set of 72 a few months ago but really only got into coloring with them a few weeks ago. I got the set for something like $18 when it was a flash deal on Amazon... couldn’t resist for that price! And what a deal they are! Really impressed with them so far. I picked up a bottle of odorless mineral spirits and some blending stumps the other day and I really love how they blend! Now I just need to work on my coloring technique. I also really need a case like you have! The trays are kind of awkward to deal with when you have limited table space.

In fact, I haven't used my Prismas at all in 2 or 3 weeks! I'm having loads of fun playing around with different color combinations with these gorgeous pencils.

Hi Claire! Thank you for a lovely review as always. Could you do a comparison between the Arteza and the new-ish Goldfaber pencils from Faber Castell? The Goldfabers are almost twice the price of the Arteza, so I'm wondering which would be the better buy for a budget buy.

I have both and while I really like and enjoy the Goldfabers, I prefer the Artezas. Goldfabers are so lightweight, it almost feels like I'm not holding anything in my hand when I use them. That worries me a little. I keep thinking if I use too much pressure, they'll snap. Goodfabers are nice and go down very smoothly, but for vibrancy and durability, Arteza is the definite winner and the price is unbeatable.

    • @sugarcandy243
      @sugarcandy243 5 років тому +1

@@crystalfranklin2583 Thank you for the reviews. I confess I'm a huge fan of Faber Castell and Derwent companies, so I'm partial to their products.
But the 48 Goldfaber pencils are around $40 while the same size Arteza set is less than $20! So even if they're half as good as Goldfaber, they're worth the price. But if they're just as good? Sign me up!
I actually have about 6 full sets of artist quality pencils but they're a pain to carry, to travel or even if I want to color away from my desk. I'm looking for a smaller budget set and the Arteza seems perfect!

Any updates on when the new colors are coming out and whether they will offer the full expanded range in one box? Also, any news on plans to offer these pencils in open stock?

If you go to the Arteza website, they're $1 cheaper with free shipping, and if you create an account you can earn points towards dollar off, and they'll send you coupons and specials to your email! I have the watercolor pencils, but may have to get these, even though I got the 150 Prisma set for myself for Christmas!
    Thanks for the review!

Hi, Claire! Always love your reviews. Quick and thorough! Question: Do you know whether Arteza ever made more colors or if they have started offering open stock? I saw where they are offering refillable markers now, and you can also get their brush pens (water-based markers) in open stock packs of 4, but I haven't seen anything more about pencils. I've been out of the game for a while so I'm behind on my supplies knowledge. :)
    Thank you!

@@ColourwithClaire Ah. Hopefully soon! I'd buy them four pencils at a time if that's the only way they can make it feasible for the company. Hate it when I really love pencils but I have to buy a second set when I use one up.

I ordered these today because their site has 20% off currently. After I bought them I decided to look for an actual review, I saw yours and I knew I could trust it! I have just recently gotten into adult coloring and I absolutely love your reviews and learn so much! I do have a quick question, what type of pencil sharpener do you use? I have yet to find one I like!
