4) EDI Guide Catalog from Stedi

This is a tool to create specs online and validate EDI documents from Stedi. These guides can be shared internally within your Stedi account for free if you just need people within your company to access the specs. Alternatively, Stedi has been working on a public catalog of guides. If you're a company publishing your own specs, they have a deal where if you're happy adding your specs to the catalog, they'll take your specifications (usually a PDF), build out the Stedi guide for you, add it to the catalog and waive the public guide fee.

It depends on what EDI platform you are using whether that be an internal , or external or hybrid approach. Time and responsiveness is always a major factor. Whether your internal team is not responding to questions or the supplier's team is not responding or a combination. Maybe the platform you are using has a shortcoming to handle certain requirements. I could provide more indepth details if you provide more details of your current environment or project.
