I was in Mallaig in August on my motorcycle.. The scenery is simply beautiful. Next morning the ferry to the Isle of Skye and the adventure continues. Scotland the brave. Scotland the beautiful...
Andy, I just wanted to say thanks for all your videos. I've been a regular visitor to Scotland for 20 years and your videos have been a fantastic reminder of where I've been, and a great inspiration for future trips. They've been extremely informative - and so much better than any TV travel shows I've seen! I got instantly concerned when you made a remark about you health in the Glencoe video (even though it was only a fleeting remark) and hoped I'd read too much into it. I'm also aware you're output has declined and truly hope all is well. Your videos have brought me great pleasureover the years and I'd like to offer my services as driver if it helps you continue to explore Scotland - regardless of whether or not it creates new videos. The world is better because of people like you mate! Not sure how contact is best made but I'm sure we can figure something out if you're interested. Thanks again.
Thank you for your very kind words, they are much appreciated - I am fine and healthy. Just prior to doing the Glencoe video, which you made reference to, I was told I may have had a slight partial seizure and despite my protestations I was banned from driving for a year then in 2016 just after I was at Skye filming in the spring and spent the rest of that summer with sciatica but what really drew things to a halt was that my dear wife Roberta died last year and I took that very hard and I didn’t feel like going anywhere after that for a while but I soon realised that I could cope with things better if I kept myself busy so I went up to the Mallaig area in the spring and have just completed that video. I have since been back up and am currently making a video of the Great Glen and the Glen Affric area - and then I will start work on an even more exciting one of the Lochinver area and Assynt. I was up getting final video last Sunday. I haven’t put anything up on UA-cam for these two yet. Although I am 71 I still have a job and I usually just shoot up somewhere when my time of coincides with the weather. Thank you again.
So sorry to hear about your wife Andy but glad you're finding a way to work through it. I was hoping to be in Assynt this month but had to cancel due to work commitments. I don't have another trip planned now until next October (although I'm sure I'll fit something in before then) so I'm already looking forward to seeing your new videos. Thanks again for doing what you do.
I love this area too thanks for sharing. I have never taken a boat trip to the islands yet in the 20yrs or more that I have been visiting the area! maybe next time I will :D Teddy
Brilliant videos I watch other ones on UA-cam all very good, we live in a wonderful country ,we're visited many places from lands end to Orkney .The only worry is a selfish one ,i am afraid that the highlands is getting polluted with fast cars ,and large motorhomes!Skye and the 500 run for example ,but so is the Lake District and Yorkshire ,oh well that's progress in a crowded island and people are now waking up to explore the northern parts of Britain ,or is it the past good summers ? hope it can coop with influx of tourism . You certainly excite the notion to go and see, even to return it's not a long journey as I live in Troon and love the drives. Here's power to your videoing!
Hi Andy, I just found your channel and subscribed. I want to tell you I'm enjoying your videos immensely. They are very calming, and your poetic narrations of the beautiful landscapes are wonderful. I hope to have a long visit in the home of my ancestors soon, but your videos are the next best thing. Thank you so much for making these videos!
