Eddie laughing at the guys walking in the leather suits is a nod to his previous stand up specials. He wore similar suits.
oooh
Those are cosplays from Michael Jackson's Thriller video
Both of y'all are right. He wore the red and black outfit in his one stand up he did and also honoring Michael Jackson. All in all just a good movie with some good comedy and and some decent action
He also is laughing about the outfits because he just made up the story about being in town to interview Michael Jackson
Its not a nod to his stand up, he’s laughing at the thriller outfits becoming wearing the full gear was kinda corny back in the day. Lol. Besides, his outfit was different. The only similarity was that it was red.
@@Corey313 He wasn’t wearing a thriller outfit in delirious, it was just red leather.
Believe it or not. This movie was the highest grossing film of 1984. It beat out Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Gremlins and The Karate Kid. That's how insane Eddie Murphy's star power was at the time.
Also, I can't wait for you guys to react to "Beverly Hills Cop II". It's a great sequel.
I still say 1984 was the best year for movies
You'll see a poster from the movie "Cobra" in the beginning of BHC 2
"That's how insane Eddie Murphy's star power was at the time." Yes indeed! it's difficult to explain to people who weren't there just how big of a Star Eddie Murphy was during his prime. He was a box office juggernaut. Back then, if you heard about a new Eddie Murphy movie, it was an automatic day at the movies - no question.
and Eddie Murphy was going to be in Ghostbusters
@@adamfn7086 one of the best for sure, great times
Asia recognizing Mike from Breaking Bad just made my day!
And BJ recognizing Damon Wayans
Jonathan Banks is also in the beginning of 48 Hours; much smaller role but I won't spoil further...
Jonathan Banks here in this film is what I grew up with as far as how he looked. Seeing him MANY years later in Breaking Bad was awesome.
I remember Jonathan Banks from the CBS TV series Wiseguy which ran from 1987-1990.
@@hippusmaximus9319 Not too many mention Wiseguy these days. I loved it, especially the "Dead Dog Records" story arc with Glenn Frey, Tim Curry, Paul Winfield, and Debbie Harry. I laughed so hard at the scene where Vinnie visits Curry's house. He is getting dressed for an event and has no pants on yet so Vinnie looks at him and says "nice legs". Curry had great legs, especially in fishnets.
One of my favourite lines in the movie...."Is this your car?" "No, in Beverly Hills we just take whichever car is closest"
I loved when he mocked the other black dude- "Nah, we're not going to fall for a banana 🍌 in the tail pipe"....THAT SHIT, 30 YEARS LATER, STILL HAS MY ASS CRACKING UP, HEARING HIM MOCK THAT OTHER BLACK DUDE! 😆 😂 🤣
Exactly 😂🤣🤣🤣
I can’t tell you how people cheered in the movie theater when Billy got out of the car to help Axel.
I love that they basically made Billy Rosewood into Billy the Kid. The man just doesn't miss a shot!
When I watched it in the theater everyone cheered when Taggert pulled his shotgun out of the trunk.
Ah man I wish I was alive back then to witness that 👌
The skinnier cop is a big movie star from the 80s. Judge Reinold. He was the main star of the 80s iconic movie “Fast Times At Ridgemont High”
He's also the step dad in the Santa Claus movies with Tim Allen.
'Ruthless People' Danny Devito, Bette Midler, was my favourite film with him in
Eddie Murphy ruled the 80’s. Eddie was a stand up comedian and a star on Saturday night live before jumping into movies. 48hrs was his first role.
Eddie Murphy was a super star back in the day, I still rank Delirious as one of the greatest stand up comedy performance of all time. I’ve never seen any comic drip with as much charisma as he did that night.
Yes, and did you catch early on in the movie, the two in the red leather, same as he wore for the show? I just noticed that and I've seen this movie A LOT.
I preferred Raw.
It was good, but a little much for my delicate sensibilities : )@@chrisbirkel
Those outfits were not from Eddie Murphy’s stand up.
Those were Michael Jackson Thriller jackets and that’s why he was laughing. Everybody was wearing them in those days. The same way girls were wearing lingerie and lace bows in their hair, trying to look like Madonna.
I agree 100%. People always talk about RAW. It's good, but I don't think it's as funny as DELIRIOUS.
I've never heard my Dad laugh so hard at a movie before or since. Brings back great memories.
haha awesome ^^
BHC is the epitome of the 80's small budget movie. Comedy, good plot, decent action and actors that don't take their lines so seriously, Music was on point and the entire time keep you wanting more.
Don't forget the sudden switch from dark stuff to goofy humor. Another 80s staple, lol
Not sure it was a small budget film, and many movies hat hit soundtracks.
It had a higher budget than Karate Kid, Gremlins, Splash, Romancing the Stone, Footloose, Revenge of the Nerds, 3 times higher than Police Academy or The Terminator. similar budget to Star Trek 3 or Conan the Destroyer. Only a handful of 1984 movies had a higher budget than Beverly Hills Cops. 15 millions might not seem like much these days but it was by no means a small budget movie.
I agree!
It was probably THES lowest budget, Hollywood movie. But Eddie Murphy made it bigger than any phenomenal, cop show!
He was the focal point of all the movies. To why they let him do Part III!
It wasn't better than the prior 2. And that's because they made part 3 to comical, & kind of goofy! 😆
Eddie Murphy was not only acting and doing stand-up comedy in the 80's, but he also had a hit song called Party All The Time. This movie really launched his movie career. Great reaction!
Party all the time is an absolute banger...👌
48 hours was the one that launched him…his best movie.
Was at an estate sale this past weekend and saw that Eddy Murphy record album with Party All the Time.
@@neilbooth6786 hasn't banger run its course??!!
I sure hope so
Great song
From when everything Eddie touched turned to gold.
Inspector Todd was played by Gil Hill, who was a real life police inspector in Detroit. Billy Rosewood was played by Judge Reinhold, who was also in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and The Santa Clause.
This film was so huge at the time. The theme song was everywhere.
"Axel F", "The Heat Is On", and "Neutron Dance", you could not escape this soundtrack in the 80s!
Good God, "Neutron Dance" was everywhere. I swear they even replaced elevator music with that song in 1984.
I can’t hear any of those songs and NOT think of lines from this movie. Classic
Absolutely brilliant soundtrack
EDDIE MURPHY ON SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE IS WHERE HE STARTED...SEE HIS "MR. ROBINSON'S NEIGHBORHOOD" SKIT...AND "JAMES BROWN IN THE HOT TUB" ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS!!!👍👍👍👍👍
What, no respect for 'New Jersey Vice'?
And don't forget Buckwheat. 😅😅😅
Don't forget Gumby too
Mr. Robinson's Neighborhood was hilarious! Eddie Murphy has the chops. Love everything he ever played in. He's pretty awesome, always. Trading Places was a great movie to!
Don't forget his Stevie Wonder impersonation. The real Stevie Wonder on one episode.
2 years before this, Eddie starred with Nick Nolte in 48 Hours, but I think this is the movie he's most known for. The soundtrack is terrific. And like a true 80s movie, it's rated R, but they never waste time with a cheap romance between Axel and Jinny Summers. They're just close friends. I appreciate a movie like this, with Eddie clearly playing a horny young guy, that doesn't get bogged down with a shoehorned romance that wouldn't have made sense for the characters or the plot. This was a movie initially made for Sylvester Stallone, but he wasn't comfortable with some of the humour, so they took the structure of the film and made Cobra for him, giving the role of Axel Foley to Eddie Murphy.
Wow, I didn't know that Sly should have been in this one! Ehy, is really 48 hours older of this! I've always though that 48 hours was the "newest", among Beverly hills Cops, Trading Places (or A Seat for Two) and 48 hours itself. Thank you for letting me know, man!
48 was his debut which was a hit followed by trading places. Also a hit. Then Beverly hills cop
"Cobra" is an excellent movie...poster!
After Asia sneezed and Archbishop B.J. blessed her she looked so relaxed and at peace.
Young cop Rosewood, was in "FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH" HE WAS OLDER BROTHER WHO WORKED AT FAST FOOD. JUDGE REYNHOLD👍👍
48 Hours put Eddie Murphy on the map… Beverly Hills Cop made him into full blown movie star!
Funny moment - the scene where he walks by the guys on the street, laughing at their outfits… it is exactly what Eddie was wearing in his concert film Delirious….
That's his natural laugh!!! I love how this movie let's people loosen up . Have some fun.
Along with Purple Rain, this was a MASSIVE hit of a soundtrack. The 80s were good for those.
My son played “Axel F” for his recital on keyboards at age 9. Classic!!!!
@@bettygreenhansen Oh man, that's right! Whenever you found yourself in the same room as a laptop model Casio, you tapped out that little melody! We did the same thing in the 70s with Star Wars and Close Encounters.
I loved the pointer sisters. Their style of music is missing in the music industry today.
Movies from this brief era remind me that going to a movie in a theater back then most likely meant going to one that was inside of a mall. And you'd spend an hour or two before and/or after the movie in the arcade that was in the same mall.
You'd be out of the house, unreachable, for hours on end. 😳😳😳
@@OneThousandHomoDJs oh yeah he played Star Wars and all the oldie goodies! Piano, keyboard…He teaches music now…imma proud mama!!!
I saw this movie in the theater when it came out. The entire audience laughed all the way through the movie.
Will this make you feel better: $235 in 1984 equals $688.52 in 2023 It's funny that Eddie Murphy laughed at the leather out fit, what did he wear in Delirious (comedy show)? In 1983.
That was the joke...Ed made those suits popular..
This soundtrack was ABSOLUTE gold! The Pointer Sisters, Glen Frey (the Eagles), Harold Faltermeyer, Patti LaBelle, Shalamar and more!
Just the theme on the synthetazier itself was something when I was kid.
The soundtrack to "Beverly Hills Cop" is absolutely fierce. The song in the beginning with the police chase scene was "Neutron Dance" by the Pointer Sisters (one of my favorite songs) and the song playing in the beginning of the film was "The Heat Is On" by the late Glen Frey from The Eagles. Then there is "Axel F" which is the instrumental theme that was played throughout the film. Eddie Murphy's supervisor Inspector Todd was played by Gil Hill who was a police officer in real life. I hope you guys watch the sequel "Beverly Hills Cop 2" from 1987 which is actually quite good.
Imo, BHC2 is the best of the three. "Billy... We gotta talk..." 🤣
@@Mertztillithurts I agree. Bigger budget, the team working together, brigitte neilson as our villain, etc. The second is my favorite.
If you guys are talking about the guy who played Lt Bougamille, that was Ronnie Cox. He usually plays a bad guy. His biggest role was probably in RoboCop, but he was also in Total Recall
He was also in Deliverance.
Eddie Murphy, Stallone and Schwarzenegger pretty much owned the 80's, it's primarily where all three made their names, other than Stallone who started a little earlier with Rocky. It's hard to go wrong with any of Murphy's 80's flicks, they're all good. Trading Places and BHC you've both now seen. Look into his other flicks from that decade, the guy was that good. Check out BHC part 2 when you get a chance, nearly as good as the first one. Fun reaction as always you two.
Someone mentioned “48 hrs” with Eddie and Nick Nolte. Another action comedy. Yes highly recommend.
Asia and BJ, definitely check out Murphy's breakout role in 48 HRS. It's top-notch.
Absolutely 💯 👍🏿
Awesome choice and fun reaction! Please watch Beverly Hills Cop 2 as well, it’s equally great!!
Yes, this was Eddie's real laugh. I remember him saying years later that he lost it & can't get it back now.
Here is a fun fact about Beverly Hills Cop 🙂The lead role was meant for Sylvester Stallone but Eddie Murphy ended up getting it because Stallone wanted to change too many things in his rewrite of the film. Sylvester Stallone ended up making the rewrite into a movie called Cobra! The difference between Beverly Hills Cop and Cobra is enormous, there is no way that anyone can guess that it is a rewrite without reading about it.
The “Rolling Stone reporter” scam he pulled to get a cheap room in the Beverly Palm Hotel always has me in hysterics, no matter how many times I watch it ✋️😂. The humour in this movie NEVER gets old, especially with “Serge”, the worker at the art studio 👍😁
Serge was the man! 😂
@@tattooedman42 … I remember Bronson (aka: “Serge”) in the hilariously funny sitcom from the 90’s called Perfect Strangers 😂😂😂
@@gerardroll6468 He has a great role in True Romance as well
Please watch the rest of this movie series ❤ and please throw in "the Golden Child" 🎉
I wish Eddie never stopped doing stand up. He was one of the best. Delirious, and Raw
The Beverly Hills Cop movies are one of my favorite roles of Eddie Murphy! So glad both of you are checking them out
Beverly hills cop 1 and 2 are top tier movies for me bro. Some of the best I've seen.
@@colinhoeg4728 agreed
The role couldn’t have been played by anyone else.
@@ladyamythyst69 💯 facts
Eddie Murphy was first cast on Saturday Night Live and he actually saved the show from being canceled. I watched those. He was hysterical.
Nice 😊
This movie is such a classic! Every line delivered by Murphy was just chef's kiss great! It was the perfect vehicle for his quick-on-your-feet comedy! Beverly Hills Cop II is pretty good, too!
When Bj said:"Yittdiddy", i cracked up!!🤣🤣
Yes Asia, that laff IS Eddie's natural laff.
YEAH ASIA, YOU'D WATCH IT AGAIN, ESPECIALLY WITH THE GREAT SOUNDTRACK IT HAS! 😊I'VE SEEN THE TRILOGY 100 TIMES SO
Gil hill was literally a Detroit police officer when this film was made and Eddie Murphy. An absolute Genius of an actor. This is possibly his #1 movie ever in his career
The late Gilbert Hill was a police commander with Detroit Police and later in life he served on the Detroit city council as well.
@@rccraig7580 wow I never knew that. Awesome
One of my favorites from back in the day. I was a teen in the 80’s and Eddie was the Man! The soundtrack was fantastic also! And I still know ALL the words to Neutron Dance by The Pointer Sisters!!!!
Growing up I only seen my dad laugh to 2 movies...Smoky and the bandit and this gem right here
oooh all I know about Smokey and the bandit is it kept Star Wars out of the Chinese Theater in LA in the first month! And also Burt Reynolds ^^
The biggest smile appeared on my face when I saw this!!! This will be fun! Thank y’all ❤😂
Couple of cool notes: the scene with Axl and Serge was all improvised. The guy playing Axl’s boss was an actual cop. You should also check out Midnight Run by the same director, one of my favorites from the 80s. Hilarious.
The guy playing Axl’s boss was the Chief of Police in Detroit IRL at the time
Really?@@yukonr
Director Martin Brest had some very good films on his resume. Sadly his career was wrecked by the infamous disaster Gigli. I don't think he has made a film since then.
I was in grade school when this movie made it to cable. My mother couldn't stand me watching it because of all the vulgarity. Funny enough though, the thing that made me laugh the hardest wasn't vulgar, at all. Rather, it was when Axel mimicked the other cop saying, "We're not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe."
That's my favorite moment too! 😂
Fun fact, Insp Todd was an actual Detroit police officer, Insp Gil Hill in charge of homicide. He was offered more roles after, but declined and the Beverly Hills movies are the only ones he was ever in. Another great reaction!
No wonder he was so authentic playing that role 😮👏🏾
This is a hilarious film. I was fortunate to see this on the big screen some years ago when they did a rerelease with a bunch of classic films. It’s always great to see the films of when Eddie Murphy was a huge mega star and seeing Jonathan Banks as young as he is in this film is really cool too. Great reactions guys, take care and have a great evening!
I remember seeing this at the theater for the first time. The opening police chase is one of the best car/truck chase scenes in movie history, IMO. The scene in the car between Billy and Taggert about the red meat was improvised by the two actors during their screen test when they were trying to find the best duo. The thinking was that a partnership between cops is not much different than an old married couple.
I also remember seeing this movie on a first date. The chemistry of bickering between Rosewood and Taggart is a precursor to what Riggs and Murtaugh had in Lethal Weapon.
I remember watching this movie at the theater with my dad. He laughed so hard, and it wasn't even his type of movie. Great memory
Asia you yourself have a very unique laugh! I love hearing it! I recommend you react to “Beverly Hills Cop 2” and eventually check out “48 Hours.” That’s another one of Eddie’s early films, and it’s hilarious and very gritty as well.
I love this movie! One of my favorite action-comedy movies, great job by Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy started his comedy on Long Island and did quite a few gigs the same time as Jerry Seinfeld (same clubs, same night) back in 1978. In 1982 he was hired to bring SNL back to life after they lost their original cast from the first 5-6 years. He also release comedy ALBUMS, called Delirious in 1982, Comedian in 1983, and RAW in 1988. He started in movies in 1982 and became the biggest box office male for the 80s. He had an incident with a transvestite prostitute in the early 90s and went away, came back as a kids movie actor.

This one is right up there among my top Eddie Murphy films.
I grew up watching Eddie Murphy!👍 He is so hilarious!🤣 You also should watch his stand up comedy shows, "Eddie Murphy Delirious" and "Eddie Murphy Raw"👍👍👍 I can't wait to see your reaction to this movie, one of his best movies!👍👍👍
Beverly Hills Cop is a classic that'll live forever. Eddie Murphy ruled the 80s as a comedian. He kept SNL from getting canceled. Great reaction! 👍🏿 Please react to the sequel.
The price of the Beverly Hills Hotel is currently about $250.00 a night for a single room. A suite can be as much as $2500.00.
This movie followed Edde Murphy's debut in the movie 48 HOURS. You guys really need to look at that movie. His successful career was launched on Saturday Night Live a few years earlier and included a comedy concert film called DELIRIOUS.
Sometimes, you guys are as funny as Eddie. Like when Asia starts fussing at BJ about something random. I did notice that BJ NEVER, NEVER, fussed at her. But that's the way love goes. Enjoy
Just looked up the room rate for the Beverly Hills Palms Hotel ... Trip-Advisor lists a single room rate of $1902.00 per night for a standard single room.
I was eleven when this came out, and it's been one of my favourite movies ever since. Hilarious comedy, great action, and a classic 80's soundtrack (especially Axel F by Harold Faltermeyer, which was my favourite tune for months afterward). Truly one of Eddie Murphy's finest, and that's a long list. The second one is great too, and then They Never Made Another One. 😉
Y'all are awesome, Cheers from Canada. 🥃✌❤
I fully endorse and also echo pretty much everything you said, but I particularly lost it over, "and then they never made another one" 😂
@@Taylorswiftfan13308 😁
What you have here is a young comedian that earned a spot next to experienced dramatic actors that he would need to adapt to. But since Eddie is so charismatic in the way he steals the scene, you clearly see these actors adapting to him.
BHC is the perfect mix of action and comedy. A HUGE hit when it came out and is still loved today. The 2nd one is almost as good too.
When this Movie came to our Cinema in the 80s, I ran into it seven times !! 😁😂😂😂
You've seen bearer's bonds before in "Die Hard." They're bank notes that anyone holding the paper can deposit, so they're kind of like a check (made out to "cash") or a money order. They're anonymous like cash - looking at them, you don't know who they are from and who they are being given to - and they can come in very high denominations, like $1000 or more per paper. I don't remember who first introduced the idea of bearer's bonds in crime shows, but it was probably in the late 70s. It was a thing for a while, and in real life it's still a thing. Obviously they used it here in "Beverly Hills Cop" (1984) before it was used again in "Die Hard" (1988).
BTW, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" is a classic western. You guys haven't seen it yet? 1969, won 4 Oscars and 22 awards total.
That part when he's mocking the cop about the banana in the tailpipe line always makes me laugh...but back in the 80s when I saw this in the theater I laughed for so long that everyone around me started to get annoyed.
My all-time favorite Eddie Murphy movie! I also love Beverly Hills Cop 2 and the Golden Child.
And the soundtrack for this movie is an 80s chef's kiss.
You see a lil naked man running around with a hundred dollar bill?
"I say I-I-I he he-want the knife!"
I laughed way louder in the theater at that more than anyone else.
@@BoondockRoberts "pleeeeeeeeeze"
YES! ❤❤❤❤❤
A flick that's very near and dear to the GenX heart.......those of us (philistines) who *didn't* know about Eddie through his standup, this was their first exposure to his genius.
Fun fact, Mike Ehrmantraut from Breaking Bad was ALSO in Eddie's previous flick, 48 Hrs.
Yes!!! Every Gen X person loves this movie;)
Those of us who are old enough to remember '80s Eddie know him as an R-rated comedian and movie star. Younger people think of him as the Nutty Professor and Donkey from Shrek, so it can really freak them out when they see him swearing and shooting at people!
That red leather outfit he laughed at - he wore that exact outfit for his standup special, Raw.
Saw this in the theater with my cousin when I was 11. We laughed so hard, the entire movie, our faces hurt by the time it was over.
BHC is such a classic, glad you added it to your channel. The sequels are also good too. The killing of Michael Tandino was so dark. For an action comedy, that scene was very raw and realistic and really bothered me when I was younger. I was not expecting such an brutal death that was just so unflinching in it's execution. Honestly though, it really set the tone for Axel's motivation and it's such a great film. Great reaction!!
Axel here is the perfect embodiment of an RPG rogue: lockpicking, stealth, deception, charm, the whole package.
RIP Gilbert Hill. His boss in Detroit. He was on Detroit City council and a heavy hitter in the city.
Y'all gotta do The Last Dragon. Another 80s classic
"Catchin' bullets with his teeth?" 😂
"WHO'S THE MASTER?" 😆
Great reaction! On a side note, I came across one of your old videos yesterday where you mentioned your music. First time I heard about this. I listened to your stuff and your voice is beautiful! Loved medicine! Good stuff!
ooooh
Great reaction! One of my favorites from back in the day. Another unforgettable role by Murphy is in a shamefully underrated movie called Bowfinger (1999). Steve Martin plays an aging, never made it film director trying to scam his way into a major movie deal. And Eddie has a great dual role as two brothers: one is an over the top Action movie star, and the other is a nerdy, socially awkward nobody who isn’t close to his brother. Eddie is perfect and completely opposite in both roles. It’s a crazy story with a great cast that was largely neglected, as sometimes happens. It would make a great reaction.
In the 80's Eddie also had a hit single, "My Girl Likes To Party All The Time." ✌️
Eddie Murphy is a national treasure. And yes he does really laugh like that!
Another one of my favorite movie series 😁
Hands down. This is the best comedy action/ little bit of drama movie. Beverly hillcops
Serge, played by Bronson Pinchot, was in the late 80's sitcom Perfect Stangers, which Family Matters was a spin-off of.
"Look at the jackets they got on!"
Eddie laughing at the leather outfits is a joke about his costumes from the comedy specials Delirious and Raw. Very funny stand-up.
Heck yeah, this is a great movie!
And you've absolutely got to watch Beverly hills cop 2 because it's twice as good. 💰
one of my favorite bits in the movie is all the Beverly Hills Police Department telling Axel that yes, their captain can hear through the walls.
Hi Asia & BJ, I loved your reaction to this, it's one of Eddie Murphy's best movies and an 80's classic :) Asia looked gorgeous as always :) I highly recommend EM in The Golden Child (1986) another of his very funny movies, please react to it soon. He plays a social worker who searches for the child of the movie's title that has magical powers.
I was privileged with watching this when it came out on the big screen. Damn I miss the 80’s.
@Asia and BJ while there is part of me that goes wtf.... what rock were you two amazing people under not to see this :). However, the 75% of me is just too damn happy to see you both enjoy what I FEEL is one of his top 3 or 4 films. NO ONE ever came on film as Murphy did his first films were 48 hours, Trading Places, and This, He was a megastar. To see Asia laugh and Bj laugh too was a treat. ty Both and thanks to your amazing patrons who allow us all who can not to enjoy you all full time.
Judge Reinhold, who plays Rosewood, and who used to live where I live, became a regular at the video store I worked at, way back in the day. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. If I bumped into him somewhere he always made a point of saying hello, and always had some time to chat. Great comedic actor and a truly great guy.
When Nokia cell phones first came out , you could change your ringer. And my ringer was changed to this movie theme song. ❤ great movie.
This is a legendary movie, and Part 2 is equally awesome, and that's where you can stop. 👍🏾
This is gonna be goooooood! 😂😂😂
Everyone wanted Eddie Murphy for movie roles after his superstar status from Saturday Night Live, and his national stand up comedy tours. My favorite was "The Golden Child"
I read, then confirmed, if you pause when Jonathan Banks gets thrown over the buffet that it's Richard Pryor standing in for Murphy.
YEP...MIKE ENRENTROUT!!!!
One of the funniest action comedy movies ever made!
Originally, Sylvester Stallone was going to star and write the script for the movie, as his version of Beverly Hills Cop was more darker, violent, and action packed, lacking the humor. When Paramount executives read the script, it was immediately rejected and Stallone turned his unproduced version into the 1986 thriller COBRA.
I am thankful both exist, great movies.
The hotel Axel stayed in is the same hotel where my high school prom was held and yes, that is Eddie's real laugh. Lol
Every song from this soundtrack was a major radio hit. Great songs in a great year for movies.
This was Eddie Murphy at his peak, still fresh off of Saturday Night Live. He just lit up the room. God damn I miss the 80’s! Great reaction.
Sylvester Stallone was supposed to play this role but he didn't like the comedy. He rewrote the script which eventually became the movie Cobra.
18:25 That’s Judge Reinhold. Known for such films as Stripes, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, Gremlins, Vice Versa, and Head Office. He appears in all Beverly Hills Cop sequels.
For awhile there Eddie was as big as Tom Cruise is today, it was his charisma that leapt off the big screen, we were all mesmerized.
