Starbuck is the only gender swap of a beloved character done right. They even made Boomer an intriguingly fresh new character after a gender and race swap. The difference between these characters and other gender/race swaps from other productions is that these are approached from an entirely new context and yet faithful to the basic concepts of the original source material. It definitely felt organic instead of condescending and patronizing. Ronald D. Moore is just a brilliant writer and producer.
I hated the fact that they changed starbuck to a girl then by the end of season 1 she won me over. Then I got a cat and named her starbuck. Shes dying of 2 types of cancer right now but I got her genetically preserved and I plan on cloning her. Just now watching this im thinking....this has happened before, it'll happen again.
