The tuxedo dial and sharp hands are cool, but I'm not a fan of the chunky lugs and industrial bracelet. You used to be able to get the 36mm Glycine moonphase for well under $500, glad I snagged one before it was discontinued!
The dial looks nearly identical to the Smith's Trans-Global (which in turn is an homage to the old Polerouter) with of course the addition of the moon phase.
It definitely has a moon phase Polerouter vibe but there's something not quite right about the case, especially the lugs. The Lorier Astra is much more elegant and costs half as much!
We'll have to take your word for it that this is much better in person. For me, my reservations felt in the imagery also remain after your review. The pole router references are certainly welcome, but somehow it doesn't create a totally coherent dial here. I agree that the white seconds hand looks too much and out of place, and probably it would have been better without the crosshair too. I find myself more fascinated by the case shape, stance, and bracelet combination, but I don't think this moonphase is the right dial and style to present in this package. Perhaps it'll grow on me. The way the bracelet moves and reflects in real life is better than expected.
Beautiful watch! I was planning on pre ordering one, but now it appears that it comes on a rubber tropic strap and the bracelet is an extra 100 euros add on. I think a tropic strap on a 40’s style watch looks weird, and I would rather just buy it on the bracelet but it appears that’s not an option
You forgot to mention that the metal bracelet will sell separately. The watch comes on a Tropic Strap. As per the website. Thanks for sharing, the watch looks beautiful, a bit pricey for me, but if I was a millionaire I would not care and buy it.
I had the same complaint, I think a tropic strap is a terrible choice. I wanted to pre order it on bracelet, I don’t want the tropic strap and I’m not paying another 100 euros for the bracelet
I own a Maen Hudson MK4 and it’s an awesome watch. My daily driver and I paid around $560 for it shipped about 18 months ago. Love the brand and their modest case sizes, but $1100 for this is a bit steep.
Hmmm, the watch seems a bit confused to me, maybe it’s the bracelet and the white second hand. Would it be crazy to have a sub second integrated in the moonphase subdial?
Call me old fashioned, but I like to be able to read the time and at least you can SEE the seconds hand. The “raw metal” hour and minute hands disappear against the dial…
Not a fan of the case. It looks like the stamping of a watch case before the excess metal is milled away and the final design is revealed. The bracelet however, is really nice looking. Definitely too brutalist of a watch for me, not in line with the dial and complication.

Hey Tim; a great presentation as usual. Thank you!
Great comprehensive review, thanks, Tim
Thanks Tim for another great update! 🏆❤😎
Thanks for watching!
You intro’d me to Maen with the Manhattan 37 (bought it) and loved them since. Thanks for another review on this stunner ❤
2:50 I would round up 11.35 to 11.4 by the way. Nice review 🙂
There was a fly in front of my TV when you did that. It completely freaked me out. Lol
Here it was a moth! Very dangerous ;-)

Again it's nice to see a review of a something different.

Beautiful watch! I can see some similarity to the King Seiko 44ks in those lugs
Bracelet reminds me of the Belgian block streets we have here in Philadelphia i dig it
I'm impressed with that racing green leather strap. Truly.
But I don't like wearing leather next to my skin!

I would only get a moonphase watch with a photographic image of the moon on a wall to wall aventurine on black dial.
Polerouter meets Raymond Weil Millesime.
Nice bracelet.
Love the dial but the lugs are too wide for the case size in my opinion…
I strongly dislike a white seconds hand. It looks far cheaper than leaving it raw metal

💯…. Heated blue or keep it steel
To each their own
Interesting! I actually like it very much
Endlinks neither fit nor harmoniously merge with the case. Lugs are too long for the case size.

The execution of that watch is chaotic and unbalanced.
Bracelet is way off for sure.
The watch is nice, but I just do not like that bracelet. It is horrible!
