its kinda funny how everyone bashed the country music of the 90's but it was the best by far. I am glad to be able appreciate it back then. Class of 94 so I grew up in the heart of it.
Great singer and sound. This is when country music was COUNTRY and when they sang live, it sounded just like their recordings, and could actually sing.
He's an awesome traditional country singer.....he's in my top 5 favorite singers. I just saw him live for the first time last Friday here in Huntsville, TX and he was awesome!!
Blame it on Texas tells the story of limitations... personal, professional, and geographic. Texas isn't Nashville or Hollywood, but we're listening to the best most versatile voice the Country Music Industry has ever experienced.
I think this band was the best band Mark ever had... I've been watching some concerts this last years and his new band is not as good as this one... Glenn Gordon was fabulous on this guitar, and Slim yamaguchi on the pedal as well... This backgorund band is one of the bests and Mark is incredible as always!
I really love this video. I'm a very big fan of Mark Chesnutt, and these are two of my favorite songs by him. Mark has a terrific singing voice, and he performed excellently here. Thank you very much for uploading this video to UA-cam, BRod313. I really appreciate it.
Mark is one of my favorite country music singer and here are two of biggest hit song of all-time. Mark and his band does a wonderful job of singing and playing both song. This is true country music that is still missed by the true country fans of today.
When I was growing up this was my favorite country singer of all time. I loved him. Then I entered middle school and was introduced to other forms of music and sadly country took a back seat. Its only lately that I'm getting back into it and while I can barely tolerate the new singers I still love those from my childhood.
I didn't have the screen up when it started playing, and until he switched between songs, I hadn't even realized it was live. I almost always pick up on the small details that show the difference. He's really good...
I love his voice and how he stays with the country classic sound. I would like to know if he is writing his ow material or is there another great country person out there he is teaming up with?
You got to have your sack on tight to live and run in TEXAS!!!!!!! Hell, I'll take a TEXAS summer over any thing else the world has to offer!!! blame it on TEXAS.....LOL
Brother Jukebox is probably the only song where another singer, Mark Chesnutt, performs it better than the original Keith Whitley version. Now that's saying something.
I think this is a better version than keith whitley's. However every other song Keith Whitley sings is the best version. Keith Whitley was the greatest there had ever been since Hank Williams, and like Hank Williams the Lord called him home to play in his band far far too early.
Me too! But in Nashville the tail wags the dog and what they are producing today is just a bunch of crap not worth listening to! Bring back the fiddle, pedal steel, and clean sounding Telecasters. Unfortunately I think it is gone forever!
i have lived all over the south for the past 2 years. i lived in beaumont for most of 2008. honestly the worst place i've ever lived, sorry. it stinks outside, the roads are bad, it's swampy, hurricanes, rude clicky people, nothing to do, no outdoors activities, lot of ghetto areas. blah.
mark sings brother jukebox & bubba shot the jukebox, does that mean bubba shot marks brother? just kiding mark sure can sing i love this era in country great stuff not like todays pop country bullshit.
@catherinechevalier49 there some new country singer who are sticking to there root like justin moore, easton corbin jamey johnson, eric church when u get time u should check them out

I got to play keyboard with Mark in Beaumont back in the late 80's before he went to Nashville. Good guy.
Cool
Mark was always soooo under rated and he always delivers true country music which makes you grab a beer and two step somewhere~!!!!
He is!!! Love the old sound, no beach, no flip flops, NO BULLSHIT!!!
👆
What a great band. An Asian pedal steel player! That is the coolest thing I've haven't ever seen before. Mark hires some kickass players.
Blame it on Texas tells the story of limitations... personal, professional, and geographic. Texas isn't Nashville or Hollywood, but we're listening to the best most versatile voice the Country Music Industry has ever experienced.
mark chestnut is a real country singer more new stuff from you man soon!
I miss this stuff. Music that comes from the heart and actually means something.
You just don't hear vocalists like this anymore. This is great music here all around!
agreed
Two of my favorite Mark Chesnutt songs.

Mark did the song so well the word was it cost him in the industry the song was written for a southern draw Keith top 10 alltime

Saw him last summer in Michigan at a county fair, still just as great, that's country music.

Now this is country music. the look, voice and music. the whole package. true music

I always shed a tear too Brother Jukebox reminds me of my late grandfather.
90s country rock sure miss those days 😎🤘
RIP Glen Gordon.
Had the pleasure of working with him with Connie Cato and Mark Chestnut in Beaumont late 80's
I remember In the 90s at texas stadium when the cowboys would score they would play that song (BLAME IT ON TEXAS).…priceless memory...Go Cowboys!!
Just do what I do, avoid "country" radio and stick to classic Cd's. Classics NEVER get old
today's "country" should be ashamed of itself when compared to something like this.
Sounds just like the record...top notch band, marks singing is amazing.
Lots of truth in this tune!
I didn't have the screen up when it started playing, and until he switched between songs, I hadn't even realized it was live. I almost always pick up on the small details that show the difference. He's really good...
mark was really the best of the best,, right there with garth and clint,, if not ahead
Blame it on Texas. Don't Blame it on me!
Oh Hell Yes!
Mark is the Real Deal
Prayers for Mark today. Get well soon
Women scream, men spend their money. Mark has as many male fans as ladies. Theres the recipe for recognition and mega success.

That denim on denim combo though. I'm gonna wear that as soon as I get home.
Dude is an awesome singer period.
I love his voice and how he stays with the country classic sound. I would like to know if he is writing his ow material or is there another great country person out there he is teaming up with?

Real country! So few new country artists sound like this. Now most country has gone to shit (cough*cough* rascal flatts, sugarland, big and rich).
Brother Jukebox is probably the only song where another singer, Mark Chesnutt, performs it better than the original Keith Whitley version. Now that's saying something.
unclefixer it's a really good version but no one will ever have Keith's voice.
Jesse Lewis kieth is a legend
I think this is a better version than keith whitley's. However every other song Keith Whitley sings is the best version. Keith Whitley was the greatest there had ever been since Hank Williams, and like Hank Williams the Lord called him home to play in his band far far too early.

?Who is the guitarist on the Hipshot-Bender Telecaster? please....
mark sings brother jukebox & bubba shot the jukebox, does that mean bubba shot marks brother? just kiding mark sure can sing i love this era in country great stuff not like todays pop country bullshit.
Saw him live 2 nights ago. Great entertainer, super band, but his voice is shot to hell. Barely sounds like the singer we all remember.
