I'm very thankful for the believers in me, like my mom and my husband, because I was the alcoholic and put them thru hell for a couple years. But they never gave up on me. Not once. And it took almost dying to finally realize I had a problem and I really wanted to live. Haven't had a drop since February 18, 2017. Just finished college and will walk at graduation in January. I thank God everyday, especially for them❤. I listen to this song all the time just to remind myself that I do have people who believe in me!
My dad drinked in 95 the yr i was born he quit from the day i was born but he was in rehab when i was being born. He stayed sober from 95 til 2014 2015 he died in 2016. . my mom is his friend for my stake and he's friends with my step mom for my stake.
Been with my wife 27 yr she has been through prison addiction and everything in between she believes in me through it all been home 5 yr Sober 7 she never give up me know I have the rest of are life to show her and the kids why they never gave up thank go for believers
When I 1st heard this song, I loved it. But now more than ever, it has so much meaning in my life. My wife always been there through hell and back. But I got this bae. Wasn’t alcohol that was my vice. It was pain pills. Anyone of them I could get my hands on. She seen me go through a lot of rough times. But I’ve seen her go through it with me. Oct. 7, 2023 made 4 years clean and sober. Thank God for believers. I love you, Tammy. Always have and always will.
This song deserves way more recognition then it does. When you stop to think about it, EVERY MAN has put there wife/Girlfriend through hell at some point in time. We push and pull and stretch things sometimes as far as they go, and a good women will always be there no matter what. They always see the good in us even when we dont see it ourselves.
I got the chance to meet Mark Chesnutt in 1997. My son was only three weeks old at the time. We met Mark and we got a picture of him holding our baby that day. Thank you so much for a great memory from that day
One of the most genuine guys in country western history. Mark’s voice will go down in history. One of a kind. Unique in his own rights. God bless your soul brother. I’ve always looked up to you and I’m proud to say you stood that right in my book. Stay gold Mark Chesnutt. We all love you bro.
I miss Good Pure Wholesome Music like this! !! it had meaning and real artists that could sing. The lyrics touched a point in your life that you could relate to. It brought you to your southern roots and NEVER let you forget what life was truly about!!
Randomly started humming this song today out of nowhere. Haven't heard it in years, and I don't remember seeing the video for it. I probably heard it a million times when I was a kid and it was on the radio, but only as an adult do I understand the song. I can't say I lived this situation since I rarely drink, but I sure as hell felt my eyes water with that fiddle and steel. I really miss this kind of country. The late 80's to mid 90's Country really spoke to the cowboys, just like the 70's spoke to the outlaws. And the majority of the videos portrayed the cowboy way of life. I miss those days.
This is probably the most beautiful song ever! I know a guy who has put his wife through hell and she has stayed faithful even though he's mentioned going to Texas for work, which is what caused their divorce in the first place (they are legally divorced but they are trying to work it out...she is anyways...she still thinks she's to blame for his philandering ways). I don't know how she does it cause his daughter has already given up on the hope that he'll stay with them (his daughter is disabled and lives with the parents) but he needs his "believer" and he doesn't even realize how much.
U ACT LIKE LIKE THE REPUBLIC OF TEXAS IS BAD! BEST STATE IN THE UNION! BTW tell her bout CELEBRATE RECOVERYITS A 12 STEP CHRIST CENTER RECOVERY GROUP for life's HURTS, HABITS AND HANG UPS! Google it. All over the USA and Various COUNTRIES
You sure got that right! I dare you or anybody to find A "song" on air today that even mentioned THE BIBLE,faith, needing or believing in someone. It close to politics, really pathetic what we're allowing them to call acceptable!!
I miss spending my weekend nights on a dance floor with a beautiful woman listening to real country music. Mark has always been one of my favorites. In the early ninties I had the honor to see him at the Grand Palace Theator in Branson Mo. The last two songs he sang were amazing. The 2nd to last he sang with just his guitar. The last he sang aucapello. Sorry if my spelling is off. His performance on those two songs were flawless. Let it Rain is another of my favorite MC songs.
Mark chesnutt did an acoustic show at the cheese day festival in Toledo, Washington a few years ago, and although I don't remember if he did this song, I do remember the playful bantering he did with some guy in the front row. Mark mentioned he was going to do a Conway Twitty song, and the guy said "I'd love to lay you down," and Mark said "Where I come from, we don't say things like that to another guy." It was all in good fun though. BTW, that's the recently departed Ed Bruce playing the part of the old cowboy in this video. Just thought everyone would like to know that.
Judy Yarborough roger Springer is a good dude him and my step dad grew up together in little caddo Oklahoma and have played together many of time and my step dad played still guitar for Mark way back when
Mark, this is a great song, & I can relate too it. I've written several songs similar to it. I'm a big fan of yours. I saw you in concert, many moons ago, with Arron Tippin, in Norfork Va. I have every cd you have recorded! Sinicerely, Bart Conlon, Songwriter, Waynesboro, Va.
For me its not alcohol...i got stuck on failure and disappointment...cant find my spot in life...all i can say is thank god for believers...she deserves so much better then me.

You have a beautiful ear for music A Mack!
Country music doesn't care what color your skin is. It just cares if you like it.
Such a powerful song I wish they still made music of this caliber!
They do
I'm a Believer in Mark Chesnutt and his music!

My Uncle Tim Johnson wrote this song. He passed away a few years ago.
Tim was an incredible songwriter. Fellow Oregonian, as well.
