Thanks for the tips buddy obviously anything that as gas can remove rust easily trust me I have experience but my personal favorite is vinegar and lime drops they're magic. I prefer sharpen stones such as grit stone, oil stone and etc for sharp things. Medical student Malaysia 👍 job

When I used to work on old cars, I would bring coke with me to the junkyard. It would help loosen rusted bolts. Coke is a mild acid.

Greetings from Cape Town South Africa,
I use bicarbonate of soda ( baking powder) and hot water,
Leave it to soaks for a few minutes and it’s done.
you can also use bicarbonate of soda and vinegar.
Coca Cola does the job but it takes too long to soak in my opinion.
Keep well and keep looking up.
    👍

You shouldn't file the inside parts of the blade, you can take steel wool or a nylon abrasive pad to clean the two sides facing each other. Good job on showing that they do not need to be discarded.

That's a cool trick, in High School we put a new nail in a coke & let it sit during the semester. After 3 months we pulled it
out to find it had eaten lots of little holes in the steel nail..... lol, now think of how much softer your teeth might be??
That's today's lesson. Use cokes to clean pruning shears, not your teeth & it's not the sugar that does the damage.

...I use a Corona carbide sharpener (available at most any garden store/nursery). No need to disassemble the pruner, a couple dozen licks with the carbide and my pruner cuts paper just as well. Yours is prettier though, after the Coca Cola treatment.

Learning HOW to prune properly might be effective too: all the cuts appear to be internodal, so the branch will die back to one of the nodes below the cut, or back to, the trunk on large trees. Often the branch will rot and die back inside tree instead of sealing over the wound with regrowth of the branch collar

The goal of the video was to showcase a unique approach to recycling, but I understand that it may not resonate with everyone

You don't show washing off of the Coke, this could prevent pitting.
