- This Toshiba Satellite 430CDT still functions like it did before with a different hard drive connected. If anyone has any idea what could be wrong, please let me know. I'd appreciate it! Thanks! :-)

So you have to smack it to make it read? Are you sure it's just the hard drive that's affected? Do programs continue to run, but you get read errors? The reason I ask, is the problem sounds like either broken solder joints, or dirty ribbon cable connectors. I can't tell from the video, but I'm guessing there's more chips under the touch pad buttons?
This system reminds me of my Tecra 740CDT. I have the same floppy drive too. The RAM is maxed out at 144MB if I recall.
@Maxxarcade Sometimes smacking it works, and sometimes it doesn't. It will work fine for a few minutes, freeze up, sometimes get a BSOD saying "Disk Write Error" or sometimes just go haywire and then work fine again. In a nutshell, it has a mind of its own. There are more chips underneath the board, but I didn't think to look there.
@EatenSniperGuy Most likely it's something with the motherboard, or the little board that the hard drive connects to. It's definitely not the RAM because I already ran a test with "MemTest 86." A program that detects bad memory.
@TheComputerNerd0101 The PowerBook was not harmed in any way. All I did was take the hard drive out of it. The PowerBook will work fine again with the hard drive and a re-installation of the operating system.
@Mrtechguy94 ehh, which powerbook is it g3 or g4?? i love the powerbook g4 alu, i wish mine was working!
WHAT! DID YOU BREAK A POWERBOOK TO REPAIR A TOSHIBA OLD-SCHOOL LAPTOP! ?
@Jmster1 The processor is not on the board that the hard drive connects to. On this model, it's on the motherboard.
Most likely, it's either the processor or the motherboard. That's all I can think of if it's not the Hard Drive.
@TheComputerNerd0101 It is a PowerBook 190cs (before the G3). Look for my video "Macintosh PowerBook 190cs"
