Just recently acquired an E60 with a a number of error codes, i cleared the errors to see what would come back and i still have 'front passenger airbags faulty' error on the idrive, i scanned the error memory again and found 98DF which apparently points to the seatbelt pretensioner, i will test both pretensioners this weekend to see what the difference is and confirm the fault is indeed the passenger pretensioner, thanks dude! :)
Max Moughal check your tensioners and see if they have deployed. By deployed I mean retracted which means the tensioner will not look like above it will look pulled back like an accordion. If it’s retracted it need to be replaced or rebuilt. I hope this helps. Good luck.
@@cmontano4622 well it turns out there was nothing wrong with any of the tensioners, the issue was under the seat someone prior to my ownership removed the black plastic locking clip from the main SRS connector (big yellow one) so the connector could not seat correctly and hence the low resistance error, i fitted a new clip and cleared the codes problem solved :)
You are measuring resistance of shorting jumper inside of that connector. You need to lift one of those golden pads to measure true tensioner resistance. Its is surely not 0,05Ohm.
Wish you could show more detail on which wires you are testing. Also, do you actually have to pull the seat out to test it? Can't you unplug it from inside the car and test it?
Getting 0.4 ohms on both my vans (but one has the SRS light on, code scanner revealed "squib resistance too large" and oftentimes the driver buckle goes bad)
sir I replaced my pre lci BMW E60 M5 seat with E60 LCI M5 Seat. my car didnt have any erors , but now my car has 93AA belt tensioner error . pls note the new seat is in excellent condition amd everything works only the airbag error is alwyas showing, can you help
Please help! e46 seatbelt tensioner fault. Replaced seatbelt tensioner & wire harness. Fault is coming back after 5 days or so from being cleared. Don't know what is causing it. All parts New OEM BMW parts from dealer.
@@mraaaaaaa I know this is a bit old post but do you mean the resistance between both pairs? He measured one pair for one cable, but what about the other pair/cable? Should we get the same resistance?

Great simple informative videos! Keep up the good work

🤣🤣that's the thing with UA-cam anyone can make a video and talk about anything they don't know about.
Hi,is there is way to fix instead replace?

i’m getting 0.3
what did you end up doing?

My friend, my car has the same problem, e90 code: 93A9, how can I solve the problem?
My volt meter reads 2.5 ohms. What does this mean? Is the tensioner blown. I tried it on 3 different meters!
Same here

Is 0.8 Mega Ohms too high
you should tell us what wire you are probing....... (N)
Listen closely! He's measuring the resistance over between both of the pretensioner wires.

BUTTERS!!
My e39 reads 2.5 is that too much
It’s because he’s measuring it wrong 2.5 is correct
oh , 525 tds a the left in the video ! with the red roof !
