@@johnfulton4061 I don't personally believe it matters that she had 3 white husbands because the majority of Black Men considered her to be unattractive therefore in that circumstance, you have to love who loves you. Plus, there is nothing wrong with interracial relationships. She has paved the way for MANY Black Women in their craft. All soldiers are not on the front line. Concerning Jewish ppl & Nazi's, America acknowledges protects & supports the Jewish Community. Black ppl and America have a different relationship, we can't even get America to FULLY acknowledge slavery, teach everyone about the horrors of it, let alone be compensated via reparations or at bare minimum the ownership of or in our ancestors land/companies. To compare the Jewish ppl & Black ppl isn't an equal analogy. I do respect your viewpoints though. 🤎

@@johnfulton4061 I agree that the lady should face jail time, penalties or at least be force to come forward and face the consequences. I was previously married to a relative of Emmetts. It's funny you said that bc I actually posted that she should get jail time and deleted it then posted about Whoopi instead. To your point Black ppl are beyond forgiving. I do feel it's a coping mechanism to deal with the fact we may NEVER get a resolve. However, I do remain hopeful. I support interracial relationships bc until racist ppl start viewing "others" as family and HUMAN BEINGS then they will have a direct attachment to hate crimes, racial issues etc. We have to start somewhere.

I was one year old. Born in 1954. I knew what Mississippi was like in the late 1950's. My parents protected us growing up in Mississippi. So many people will never come back. We left. Moved to California. I grew up in California. When I hear his name or see his face I break down and cry. I feel the pain. I admire the mother, It is heart felt and I relate to her story so much. I can understand her pain. I can understand the hurt, the heartbreak, the tears of it all. I do not know if I can be seated at the theater and watch this movie. It is like the song Killing me softly. I know I would feel the pain, and cry the tears all over again. This movie is for the ones who have not had these experiences. Thank you Whoopi Goldberg and Danielle Deadwyler and Chinenye Chukwu. isn't just what you do but what you don't do. Not just what you did but how you did it. Not just what you said but how you said it. Love is so simple yet the simple make it so hard. Love Is full of knowledge yet even the smart don't get it. Love doesn't cost a fortune yet fortunes are spent trying to gain it. Love does demand of you yet you are not willing to sacrifice for it. Those who only seek what love can give and do for them, do nothing for love and others and in such selfish pursuit, in turn rob themselves of love's best gift. Make this year the year you seek to sow love and not just reap it. Be love and not just think it. Do love and not just say it. Talk love and just don't fake it. Seek love and just don't chase it. Embrace it but don't enslave it, share it but don't dare boast in it. Enjoy it but don't abuse it. Free it and watch it come back. Invest in it and watch it pay back. Wash your life in it, light your darkness with it, eat your food with it conduct your business with it and above all else Serve God in it. For whatever love is and is not, it's all of, for and From Him. He is LOVE! "

She said "i can see right through this hole in his body...why did they have to do that ? Something else that i learned is that Emmet Till's father was lynched (hung) for a crime he allegedly committed in the army. I find it very strange how it is always brown people who are expected to still be compassionate to others even while being under the helm of unwarranted, unnecessary, unjust, blatant criticism. Yet others almost never take on that same consideration before they speak/act. It’s like “they” are never expected to; never held accountable for their words and actions. The mere fact that those same people are able to decide which literature is allowed to be publish (or not) speaks to an ever pervasive sickness that covets and covers the world and experiences of brown people everywhere. It’s the same sickness that occasioned the death of a 14 year old boy, Emmet Till, and equally allows his accuser, Carolyn Bryant, to still remain free and untouched even after all these years. If there is a God and ultimate accountability, I pray said group of people will have their day of Judgement with the same level of mercy they’ve bestowed to others that are non-white.

Her part was small so I had to go online to look up the extended cast list. I knew she was a star and I am ecstatic she was cast in this meaty historic biographical part. I am soooo happy she accepted the challenge. She was so real...tears.

Ceases seeing himself thru the lenses of other's eyes and instead through his own. When he resigns himself to defining himself by the prejudices or biases of others, regardless of their populists I'll concieved predilection. When he understands that the pursuit of his person is not nor should be the pursuit of sex, revelry, drunkenness, adrenaline, power or money but rather purpose mission and a noble passion. When this man understands this, then this man becomes "The Man". “Kindness
Let’s not leave it behind us,
A simple smile could last a day
or for awhile it could stay.
We know not what each person’s story may be,
So let’s always be mindful to thoughtfulness so they will see,
    Together we gather to share
    Together we gather to care
    Together we gather to heal
With all of our stories we trust to reveal
Listening to one another is the truest act of loving humanity,
And with an added smile we can bask in our new found sanity.”

This is one of the most horrific hate crimes in American history. Im glad his murderers faced societal backlash and were uncomfortable the remaining years of their lives. I heard they lost business after business and people flat out refused go speak with him after what happened. But it'll never be enough for what they did to that child.

All I kept thinking throughout the movie was that he didn't understand. His cousins knew because they lived it daily. He unfortunately didn't know. It was a profound movie. isn't just what you do but what you don't do. He is LOVE! "

For anyone who's tired of the Harry & Meghan narcissistic self-pity bestowed upon themselves on behalf of role models for racial inequity and aspirational hope ... you have some serious competition. Danielle Deadwyler is an outrageously talented woman who exudes authenticity and dignity in both this heart-wrenching role, and the role of her lifetime being her graciously beautiful Self.

It is time to face the ugliness and rid ourselves of the racism that has plagued our country. I also pray for justice. Hearing that the 2 men and Carolyn all had cancer is a start but not enough.

We are regrettably on the verge of a burgeoning unavoidable conflict, new to us but old to history and we have but only those who've gone before us in these battles to learn from and take from both their victories and defeats, the lessons learned so as to repeat their successes and avoid their failures. To never retreat from that resolve borne in truth and a righteous cause, not zeal alone, for its the integrity and character by which we fight that propels us to victory and not the innate violence of our barbaric nature alone. We should and must fight a more nobler battle with no less vigor without reducing ourselves to our baser selves. Retaining our honor and faith, humanity and compassion so that, when the bloodletting, guns, bombs and death stops, we may each return to our homes, to our families and society as the humane beings we were before rather than the beast we became to fight the fight. May God alone help us and have mercy on our wretched souls by His Grace and Favor alone.
