Back in the early 2000s it was a pretty high end mall. As time went on the stores moved over to the UTC mall about 20 minutes away.
The stand alone building used to be a Spa.The part of the mall to the side of it used to be a Luckys supermarket.They had carts with drink holders as they sold beer and pizza!It closed and was supposedly bought by Aldi,but that’s been a few months ago with no sign yet of them moving in.Sad to see these malls declining everywhere..

Have you went to the mall in University Town Center, that place is always packed.
Haven't been to that one but I've driven around it, man that place is HUGE and looks TOTALLY packed!!
When you see a school or church in a mall, you know its a dead mall
Love these videos. The algorithm has been recommending me all sorts of related things I'd share to the group but have been in Facebook jail lol. A couple videos I saw recently, one about Ames and it closing, and the other about Suncoast. Someone beat me to the Kmart Christmas music which was really interesting even if just recreated.

It's great they have a Macy's those are coming more and more rare to find just like jcpenney and sears
Macy's and Penny's are still not too hard to find but yeah Sears is like almost non existent now.
Was here not too long ago. It’s so dead, the security doesn’t even care if you skate inside of it.

The stork I guess is a crane, ibis, egret or heron. LOL I'm not much help. The lizard was cute but I don't like them or anything that slithers. LOL I think a lot of those stores that are still opened may only be opened in the evening. We had a theater here that you could drink alcohol and smoke during the movie. When the smoking became taboo, it is now a dinner & a movie theater. I have seen a lot of places up here are doing remodels with the COVID. They will build out a new store and then move from the old store into the new one. Sometimes they are close to the old place or they may move to a whole new wing. HUGS~Donna

Tallahassee had North Wood mall when I was growing up. It turned into government offices then it became inhabitable for accumulation of bat guano. It literally drove the State workers bat crap crazy. Soon it will be razed to make a police station. Then the Tallahassee Mall also began dying after the Governor's square Mall got put in. Now they are all dead and or dying. I can't believe the Gov's square one is dying. I was grown and married when that was being put in. The Tallahassee mall hung on as long as it could. Back when I was a teen a mom could drop ya off there for all day lounging around. LOL. I never had a lot of money but I sure did like window shopping. We had one of the last Woolworth's lunch counters...other than the one in Panama City Fl it was the last one I ever went to. I miss their root beers and BLT's. I guess ya got a couple more suggestions to visit ( take ur pick ) if you ever come to Tallahassee?
