Sarasota Square Mall reopening c.1989 - Sarasota, FL

A :30 commercial for reopening of Sarasota Square Mall.
I found a Wiki article mentioning the "food court" remodeling in 1986. This is from an article "The Mall Hall of Fame":
- In October 1986, a 15 million dollar enlargement of the mall was announced. Forty new stores were to be added in an East Wing. The existing Food Court would also be doubled in size. A 2-level (110,000 square foot), Birmingham-based Parisian, the chain's first Central Florida store, would anchor the addition. The expansion was dedicated with a gala grand opening held on November 1, 1989. The mall now encompassed 975,800 leasable square feet and contained 116 stores and services.
However, as you can see, the date for the special event is March 27-29, so either this was a "soft opening" or this followed in 1990.
The folks performing were local talent that had performed in Golden Apple's "A Chorus Line!" and other musical theatre productions.
According to an article I found on Fubar D. Robot, it was created in 1979 and apparently was a "big deal."

Tech: This was a capture (2023) using a Sony VCR connected to the line in on a 2001 Sony Camcorder. The camcorder DV Line out goes into the Mac Mini by way of a firewire/thunderwire adapter. The firewire is connected to a 2005 DVD/CD writer/player. Whew. So, quality isn't that great, but wanted to capture a few things before I dump the old VCR cassettes. I am actually surprised the cassette still played (though it struggled). Also, the audio from the VCR to Digital Cam to Computer can shift. Repeated rewinds and forwards seems to help, but sometimes doesn't solve the issue. I had to disconnect the audio and move it about 1 sec. and then save (using iMovie).

It definitely sounds like the announcer says “Fubar D. Robot,” but the poster in the shot when he says it at 0:17 says “Foobie D. Robot.”
Edit: According to one of the links in your description, ‟Foobie” is a diminutive of “Fubar.” :-)
