Edit of 06.26.2012: Some commentators on this video think that Shedinja can't learn Sword Dance. So I will clear it up here instead of replying the same thing over and over again.

A: No, the Eevee I've caught from Fire Red that so happens to be Shiny. I checked for it's IV for it's possible sets. It so happens that it had max HP IV and some decent Def. and SpDef so I evolved it to an Umbreon. I trained it on a couple of Jigglypuff (which gives 2 HP EV) 126 times for max 252 HP EV.

To all those people who are going to ask the same questions again. I don't delete comments (even the annoying repeating questions), because it's makes the video comments seem more lively and natural in flow. Yes, like jtejc12 said, Silver Wind and Shadow Ball were physical. Diamond and Pearl is when the moves were separated between physical and special. Emerald and everything previous, the move's type determined which stat it used. For example, all Water moves were special, Ground moves were Physical, etc, etc.. (But Ghost was physical. wtf??) :)

If Nincada learns a move upon evolving into Ninjask, Shedinja will also know this move. This means that Shedinja can learn any of Ninjask's level up moves starting at level 20, but only the ones learned at the same level. This means if you let Nincada evolve at level 25, it will learn swords dance upon evolving. The Shedinja will also know this move. Everything in this video is entirely plausible, despite how rare it may be. With a lot of time and patience, it is achievable.

It was actually to stall so Ninjask could get a big speed increase due to its ability: Speed Boost. Baton Pass lets him pass that speed boost to the selected pokemon. So, when Umbreon came in, he got that big speed boost. And so did Shedinja because Umbreon "Baton Pass"ed the boost to him.
She came back in Sun and Moon with this battle theme when you fight her at the Battle Tree
In Gen. III games like Emerald, the type of the move decides if it is physical or special. Since Bug and Ghost were physical types, moves like Silver Wind and Shadow Ball were physical. It's weird how that works and that's most likely why they changed it from Gen IV onward

There is not a single instance I can envision where 40 PP for that move would be insufficient. Even in a difficult battle where items are banned, like this one, 40 PP is still ridiculously high and Ninjask would probably die before it could have used it more than once, maybe twice or thrice at the most.
@@IceTallLatte some matches require you to outlast them through pp stalling because they have the base amount of pp and they will use struggle and knock themselves out while you still keep using a move that won't hurt you.
By staying alive and stocking up those speed boosts, when he swaps out with Baton Pass, those speed boosts get passed along as well. It's one of those funky things that Baton Pass does. Any special stat boosts or other effects that normally just affect the Pokemon currently out... stat boosts, lock-on, etc... those get passed on with Baton Pass. So he's basically buffing his Shedinja without having to directly buff his Shedinja.

Actually, it's because of its ability. Its ability, Wonder Guard, makes it so that only super-effective moves do damage to him. So, the way to kill Shedinja is to hit it with a fire, flying, dark, ghost, or rock move. Its moves aren't normally 1 hit KOs, but after 3 swords dances, it's easy for any pokemon to 1 hit KO with a physical move.

I was very confused, wondering how Shedinja was going to counteract Raikou's Calm Minds - and why Ninjask didn't have a Petaya Berry instead - then remembered Silver Wind and Shadow Ball were Physical moves in Gen 3...

@@bullshirty Baton Pass transmits the Passer's stats boosts (and decreases) to the Passed Pokemon, as well as Substitute.
Ninjask has Swords Dance and the Ability Speed Boost, which increases his Attack by 2 stages for every use, and the Speed by 1 every turn. By using Substitute, and, due to him being the fastest Pokemon after Deoxys-S, always moving first unless priority move, he can buy time for Speed Boost to be Passed.
Then he Passes to Umbreon to use Taunt, Wish and Mean Look as failproof to the strategy, and Passes again to Shedinja, which, evolving from Nincada just like Ninjask, has Swords Dance and Silver Wind, which is Physical in Gen3, as well as having total immunity from status and damaging moves that aren't supereffective to Bug or Ghost, thanks to Wonder Guard: it additionally has 10% of boosting every stat each use.
Baton Pass can make a Luvdisc sweep an entire team of Ubers, as shown in many clickbait Poketubers' videos. Hence why it's banned.

For people who don't know, in this gen some special attacks are actually physical attacks like silver wind and shadow ball that's why he used swords dance

Not exactly. Whether an attack is physica/special is determined solely by the move's type. It doesn't matter at all what the Pokemon's type is.
Physical types:
Normal, Fighting, Ghost, Flying, Ground, Rock, Bug, Poison, Steel
All the other types are special:
Fire, Water, Grass, Electric, Ice, Psychic, Dark, Dragon
These graphics are still awesome to me. Feels more Pokemon but that's just the memories

this may just be XY rules but a shiny nincada will always give both a shiny Ninjask and a Shiny Shedinja. These are probably two different Nincadas of origin.

Especially with a well-planned team.
In Firered/Leafgreen, you can run into one of them in the wild after you beat the Elite Four. The one that appears depends on the starter you chose. The one that beats your starter's type. (For Bulbasaur, Entei appears, for Squirtle, Raikou appears, for Charmander, Suicune appears.) They hop around random routes in the grass so it will take you a long time to find them. Also, you can get all 3 of them in Pokemon Colosseum for the Gamecube. You can't get any of them in Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald.
Shedinja is in fact NOT invincible,. It has an ability called, "Wonder Guard" makes it so that only super-effective moves kill it.Which means if you step a fire pokemon with it, you are going down. The 1 HP thing is because of the fact that with most moves, they won't even affect him. He will not ever gain any more HP,but you'd be surprised how many battles I have won just because the opponent can't touch him. Depending on the battle, he can either fall in pieces. or kick some serious Pokebutt.

I agree wholeheartedly; going for Salac on a solid Speed Boost + Substitute combo seemed both unnecessary and a bit stupid. Liechi would definitely made the strategy more effective, not to mention much cooler than it already was.

I think Shedinja is a pretty Solid pokemon for use in winning at the Battle Arena, I think you barely need any effort for it to win the 2 points for more of it's maximum health remaining coupled with Protect you can maybe win the Skill round too so what ya get is Draw or Lose at Mind round, Win at Skill round and Win at Stamina if hopefully this goes well:
Protect, Attack (Focus Sash held assuming it isn't used up in Frontier Battles, never used one before so dunno for sure), Protect
again I haven't played it in a while cant remember when it was introduced or even how it would work

Steve Calvin Focus Band can activate its effect at any amount of hp whereas a focus sash demands you have full hp for its effect to kick in

Still no proof he cheated, and even if he did, it doesn't make any difference. He can only use it ingame and not in a link battle. I'm just saying this should not be used as a criticism when there is such an obvious explanation.
He apparently got a shiny eevee and evolved it into an umbreon (which is impossible in gen 3 because there isn't a day time cycle) and he also has wish, egg move.

Shedinja inherits the same Personality Value as the Ninjask it came from, so the Ninjask it came from and the Shedinja are both shiny. Therefore, you must have used a different Ninjask. Why? I would EV train Ninjask in Attack and Speed, and Shedinja could use the same EVs in Speed because Def and Sp. Def don't matter for a Pokemon with 1 HP, and Speed and Sp. Atk are the only stats left.
So powerful you didn't even need to do anything with the Wonder Guard!

Depends on the Base PP for that move. Moves with 5 PP only get raised by one for each PP Up used, moves with 10 PP get raised by two, 20 PP Raised by 4, etc.

Before generation IV, all moves of one type were either physical or special and no exceptions. All bug moves were physical and all ghost moves were physical. The only special types were grass fire water elctric psychic dark ice dragon.
Yes, it is. But I just wanted to make sure an Adamant Shedinja would outrun Latios (and sometimes 115/120 based Speed Pokemon; Starmie/Alakazam), so I equipped Ninjask with an Salac Berry, just in case.
I uploaded this because I had devise an unique strategy to be Anabel, and not to promote or say I have 'hacks' that I want to show or share. If things are too skeptical for you here and that your only defense is "I have 2 shinnies", I don't think this of video was meant for you.
Furthermore, to have an Eevee with 31 IV + Shiny can easily be manipulated in-game if you know what RNG is. 255 EV on any stat isn't about luck, it's about how you train your Pokemon properly on a certain Pokemon.
aznRisingSun explain "Wish" then. You obtained the Eevee in Fire Red. You get it in Celadon. It cannot learn "Wish."

I hate how people get on others about shiny Pokemon, max stats, etc. I have 4 shiny pokemon, no hacks or hunting. It is also very possible to get max stats, you just need to know how to. I totally believe in the legitimacy of this video, and it is a great strategy!
It’s crazy people are still commenting on this video years later so I’ll provide my two cents. Yes it is theoretically possible to have this whole team be legit. But is it? No. I would bet anything it isn’t. I won’t even go into the details of why and the probability and everything. Just take my word for it, it’s unlegit. HOWEVER, it’s not like his Pokémon have broken stats or moves. What’s the problem with making perfect Pokémon within their legit limits and having fun? People are so quick to say “hacker” and disregard it but let’s be real for a second. There’s a difference between hacking to get something theoretically possible and hacking to enter attack deoxys with 999 hp and defenses
