Yes, Luke O’Nien may be a better fit for a defensive midfielder. I wouldn’t let him go because he’s a tremendous utility player and as such he’s invaluable in my opinion.
Not only that, but he’s Sunderland through and through and a big character for this club! We need players who possess his mindset!
This summer may well reveal a lot about KLD’s ambitions. Let’s see what transpires

Very few Terry KLD Speakman Dodds Ba Hemir Rushyn Ecwah the full back from Leeds and the midfielder can’t even remember his name from wherever he came from Burstow was never staying anyway. Any good offer for the rest of them let them go.

All of the players are experienced and top of their game at the moment may costs a bit more might even be one of the highest wage from one of the lowest.

The most important thing will be the manager. What you need is someone with elite experience. Doesn't have to be in England but it has to be top level. What did Reid, Mick and Roy all have in common? All have played and/or coached at the top domestic and international level.

Well first things first if we can get some good investment and adjust wage cap we can bring in a few players this season on the end of there contracts I think we are only a bit of experience here and there from being in the playoffs again

If we really do loose all the silverware. That's Patterson. Ballard.. Hume...Clarke.. Neil... Rigg..Bellingham.....got 8 out of contract and loans all gone... . So a total rebuild.. but needs a system rebuild from u18s to 1st team playing the same system.

Let go.....Jobe, Dack, Hemir, Burstow, Adil, Evans, Cirkin, Triantis, Embleton, Styles, based on performances and fitness. Keep for squad depth but not first teamer, O'Nien, Seelt, the younger element moved to reserves whatever they call it now. We must then invest in better quality players. As for Dodds and Procter they have shown that their coaching and team selection does not produce positive results. Let them move on. Then we can bring in a new managerial team....not an individual who will be Speakmans puppet. Your comments were fair except for Rigg. There is a lot of hype at the moment about the lad...not pulling up trees but he is just a boy. Can see him developing once he gets physically stronger. Whatever happens there has to be major changes and we must get an enthusiastic management team in who can utilise what we already have. We will see! Cheers Terry.

That 5-year plan will not get us into the Premier League. If Dodds cannot see that we need a striker, then he must go. We NEED a striker! I hope we keep Rigg. I wish we could keep Clarke. Dack and Ba must go.
I would rather have a Manager than a Coach. If KLD and Speakman want to manage, let them! If they don't want to manage, then they should sit back and let a proper MANAGER have FULL say! Stop interfering. The Fans will tell them when it is going wrong.

Unfortunately we are not good enough for the premier league and i dont think these owners have any interest in putting their own money upfront ...so it will be sell to buy ..and i can see Patterson..Clarke...Neil and possibly one more out the door and that could be Rigg or Hume ...the strikers arent anywhere good enough as has proven ...i dont see an exciting summer of coming ins ..the future looks pretty bleak to be honest

I said early season that our strikers wouldn't get half a dozen goals between them. The decisions made by Speakman, Dodds and Co are shocking and they should be the first ones out the door in the summer. The players? We need experience and not young kids being asked to do a job they're incapable of doing. The football is predictable as f**k and it's the easiest 3 points any away team will get. They don't even need to scout us. 10/20 home games lost speaks for itself. Turn up, get 3 points, back on the bus without breaking sweat. We've half a dozen worth keeping but the rest? Get rid, starting a the top.
Agree with what you say Terry. Love the passion. Serious problems and they start at the top. That's KLD and his attitude of running a 'toy' club on his mother's purse strings.

The club has had enough time to sort out the Manager situation so you would expect that person to be announced soon after the last game. If not why not ? I've been on the fence regarding KLD. However, over this summer KLD will be forced to show his hand. Is he serious about taking the club forward or not. If not he should go. The fans have lost confidence in Speakman so he has to go.
I agree with most of your thinking regarding the players. But for me I would sell Patrick Roberts. Too hot and cold and I think he's a luxury the club cant afford. I like Luke O'Nein whose my personal favorite but we need a centre back. We need experience and leadership to balance the number of young lads in the squad.
How about a cheeky bid for Blackburn's Sammie Szmodics ?

I reckon Clarke, Ballard and Patterson have been our best players all season, yes they have had dips in form but that is normal for any footballer and any athlete really, those 3 are are the ones teams like Lazio and Kiverpool are after so it shows these lads calibre and KLD and Speakman need to do their best to keep them, O'Nien, Jobe and Rigg have had a decent season aswell
To not keep i think we need to loan out a few players to develop them e.g Hemir Seelt and we need to sell Dack

Dodds should be the 1st one out. Lacks common sense as well as football knowledge, terrible. I would keep o'nein as a utility olayer and jobe as i think he has been mis managed been played all the time no rest at all when its clear he needs it. But everything else basically agree with u on

If we can keep the nucleus together could be something to build on. Manager/Head Coach try and go all out for Danny Rohl may not be viable but questions have to be asked.

Sunderland need total rethink on this so called plan,Sunderland need experience as well as youth ,as I've said forget about Clark and Ballard they've gone go for someone with experience of championship as coach so he knows what sort of players to bring in.

Of the 4 strikers rusyn is the only one i like, seemed to have went on a few decent games and as soon as any form of monentum for him builds hes on the bench… looks good in the air, fast makes runs and never stops trying the rest look way off and unenthusiastic
Why not try a two up top next season terry is what i say, get a couple decent strikers in with clarkes money use rusyn as a spare maybe another spare striker too🤔

We should release the PE Teacher Dodds, he couldn’t coach a Sunday league team. On the playing side, we should release, Hemir, Burstow, Samedo, Rusyn, Triantis, Dack, 09, Hjelda. and a couple more. Bring in Willock from QPR, Stansfield from Birmingham, and Szmodics from Blackburn, and a few more.

Ballard Patto Neil and Clarke will be sold.i think jobe might be sold for a descent offer.but it’s speakman foods and proctor that need to go first.a new manager /coach should be given the money to bring in players he wants not what kld wants.but deep down i think we will be stuck with speakman and co and a terrible coach and more kids

For this so called 'model' to succeed some players have to be sold at a big profit BUT they have to be replaced with better ones who cost a bit more & so on and so on until there is a squad good enough for the Premier League. That's why this summer is crucial for their vision to succeed. Things weren't helped by sacking a perfectly good Head coach & turning us from a team just outside the play offs & into a team who are anchored in mid table & have forgotten how to play slick attacking football & score goals. Beale or Dodds an upgrade on Mowbray ? Don't make me laugh.

There's a total state of disillusionment at Sunderland now. Our fans deserve better. There's no one I would keep at the club apart from Ballard, Rigg and Hume...and that's if a coach comes in and gives those 3 stars the assistance to go forward and improve their game. We've been awful of late and only scored once at home in our last 5 , sometimes against poor opposition. The club is not going forward , so it's not getting my hard earned next season as I can only see things getting worse. There are top quality coaches out there but we decide to get to the end of a disappointing season with no manager/ coach and still no striker of note. The players we have been " linked" with would have made me eager to continue to go to SOL . Simms ( what's he worth now, and we wouldn't fork out £8m for him, well done Coventry), Amad, Branthwaite etc. , all to no avail. The current squad lack quality and I personally would make them favourites for relegation next season. We've been treated to exceptionally boring football for the 2nd half of the season...it's so sad to see the demise of this club after what promised to be a hopeful aim at the play offs.
Steve Cooper or Graham Potter needs to come in, get their own staff and players ready for the beginning of the 24/25 season...but will that happen with Eddie Shoestring in charge...I very much doubt it!!

Hi Terry, if Sunderland appoint a new head coach in the summer, he needs to be allowed to bring his own backroom staff with him. No use having one man and then having Dodds and Proctor on your coaching staff, as you may as well not bother with a new management setup. Dreyfus and Speakman can't seem to understand this concept. There is enough deadwood there to start a canny bonfire. There is a hand full of players who have the potential to be superstars but, unfortunately not with Sunderland AFC. Pattison, Ballard Neill,Clark and Jobe Bellingham who I would say has the best chance. They could be our superstars but they won't be with these fucking chancers running SAFC.

Speakman failed to recognise the difference between div. 1 & the Championship and so faild to recruit the right type of player and got rid of good experience get rid of all the forwards Roberts has been poor Dak, Evans a waste Circin seams very injury prone. The trainers are poor look at the injuries there is at least 5 othere players need to go the problem is there are so many need replacing we cant afford it

Jobe for a young lad is so slow and lacks the footballing awareness which Jude has . Overated ? Perhaps its down to Dodds who coached him at Birmingham as well from a young age. Cash in, re-invest ,sack the coaches let the new manager bring in his team . Of course it won`t happen . If Speakman and Dodds remain I can see them picking up Burstow from Chelsea when they release him in the summer on a free !

Note will happen at the club will get an average manager average players because I don’t wanna pay compensation for a good manager and I don’t wanna spend money on good place. These owners haven’t got no ambition and they don’t wanna go the next level and you think this season was bad next season will be worse. I can just see it now the players who would be linked with, Leicester City player who called the wonder kid if he’s a wonder kid why did Arsenal Chelsea and now Leicester City want to sell him and Leicester don’t even play him and he’s going on a free transfer how can you be a kid? Looks like he’s a pile of shit have sold him, it’s the biggest summer for Sunderland football club and I can tell you now what’s gonna happen now? Totally agree coaching staff out and new team in. I'd love to see Watson start at Watford - not so much pressure as starting his first at home I think. I'd also like to see Caden Kelly given time too.
