@@themadmistake it sounds like he knows as much as we do as regards to transfers and future coaching changes!! came across ok but without the support its going to be hard for the guy we have very little depth to the squad and a lot of it struggled at this level last season!! his not a miracle worker !!!
I feel exactly the same as you mate, Speakman is running the show & if lessons haven’t been learnt from the shit show last season it’s gonna be a long hard season. The summer transfer business will tell us everything, you can’t do it with inexperienced kids.

Understand your reservations Terry but I’m all aboard the RLB hype train. He spoke really well in the press conference, very intelligent and methodical. There were other things spoken about after cameras switched off which have come out also. Speakman has acknowledged last seasons errors. It all points in a positive direction. I’ve drawn a line under last season. Some patience may be required to get the team playing like RLB wants but I have a very good feeling about it all👍

Hi Terry - I'm older than you and probably more cynical, but I'm onboard with Regis. I thought he came across well - especially speaking in English - I don't think he was avoiding questions, just that he's intelligent enough to admit he doesn't know every answer (that's a good sign to me as it means he still wants to learn even more - he's a seriously smart guy with degrees in coaching - I'm hoping he might reduce our injury list for coming season.. I get an impression of someone who really likes coaching players to improve them and he's found his dream job here. Recommendation from Mannone is an excellent sign, so I'll give him benefit of doubt for now.
KLD definitely recognises that the model needs adjustment e.g.. his reply to "do we need another striker" - "we don't need another striker, we need a goal scoring striker." is clear confirmation. He's the boss - KS knows he has to deliver. I know you don't like KS but objectively he's done OK (apart from failing on strikers). RLB have said they are looking to recruit 2 experienced players (not necessarily older) with good attitudes/standards. I think he'll have a lot of say over coach recruitment, so he can get coaches he needs.
We've got a very good team. Our squad value is currently 5th highest value according to Transfermarkt behind 3 relegated clubs + Leeds. Even without any additions, if RLB could improve our tactics on defending/taking corners + throw ins a bit -that could get us quite a few places higher in the table even without any additions.
I know that it's the hope that kills - but I'm hopeful ATM -- KTF. Cheers. Jim.

@@themadmistake Hi Terry - We''ll be OK. Owners have shown they won't sell players unless valuation is met - unlike in past when we would take anything or pay money to get rid of the dross we'd overpaid for.
JC seems most likely to go. If more than two major sales happen, I think they'll shut up shop unless crazy money comes in. They're extending players contracts to ensure they don't have to sell unless valuation is met.

The man is smart in the answers he gives he’s hardly going to say right this is the plan your all privy and the players brought in are all my choosing. If it went wrong you’d all be on him for it when it might not be the case. Mannone came out and said this guy gets the best out of young players it’s one of his biggest strengths. He’s smart not to be drawn in by the media. Also mentioned about the mindset and vision he wants which we lacked severely in the second half of last season. So long as we see his style in play next season we can have something to be excited for

Hi Terry, just watched your video. I haven't seen the interview with Regis, but going off what you said about the coaching situation, I thought it would have been imperative that he brought someone in that he knows. He might know the people who are in for the job, it seems that there's a bit of interference creeping in, but who knows. I find it a bit troubling that Doddzzzzzzz and Proctor are still there. If you're new to a job you try your best to say and do the right things, so at this moment in time we have got to give him time to get his feet under the table.

Great vid Terry. Of course Speakman is pulling his strings. I thought Reggie spoke well and I liked when he said football style is #1. Don't know if he is nasty enough - I think coaches need to have a nasty streak that players are a bit frightened of, but we wish him all the best. Don't forget Speakman's job is safe no matter how Reggie does, so lets hope him and the players do the business on the pitch. With Riggy signing this week, its turning into not a bad week ... Finally quick question: If you could choose just one, would you rather see Sunderland promoted next year, or England win the Euros. I'd take Sunderland being promoted every day of week and twice on Sundays! Haway the lads!

Well mate,I watched the interview and I felt Spearman's influence I.E the backroom staff, explaining that interviews for roles are ongoing.However,he spoke well and eloquently.Like you I'm bothered going into the new season.I'll back him on his words and if Speakman and Co really have learned lessons this will be a make or break season for them all and they need to get things right and hit the ground running.

Hello and good morning Terry. I haven't seen Regis Le Brie's interview but from what you say he has come across well. I thought he was going to bring in his own coaching staff so to read that is not the case seems odd. I hope he does have a say in bringing in whoever he wants. Of course, it's early days yet so I guess we will just have to wait and see what develops. I'm hoping for a good season but don't expect us to get automatic promotion. It's a very poor appointment imo and they made themselves look like arses in the process. He's 5th choice? KS and his minnions need an unbelieveable next 6 months to get some sort of respect back from me. Guys a totalt Brent type character, full of corporate shite.

speakman does my head in his just swanning about like last season didn’t happen spouting his usual propaganda!!! off the back of a nice home kit and finally appointing a head coach.Yes the strip is quality but the jury’s out on this appointment it could go either way and as far as im concerned kld and speakman are in last chance saloon if they dont do considerably better in the transfer market and also don’t provide the coach with decent coaching staff then its got to be time for a change of ownership and or speakman.if this season is anywhere near as bad as last the shirt will soon be forgotten about and they will take some severe grief from the supporters

Saying he was not bringing his own coaching team is not negative to me, he said he will have a big say in the ongoing coaching selection. Some of his previous coaches could even be involved in the interview stages.

I agree with a lot of what you said Terry, he came across guarded and Speakman like.
Some of the answers could have been down to translation issues as he only learnt English two years ago, he speaks very well tbf. I feel he has been told that promotion unfortunately is not on the menu for this year, again, so let’s see what progress we make and hope for the best. Both he and Speakman have ducked the striker question yet again………….

I really liked the interview. I know you think Regis was holding back his true opinions on the striker issue and giving canned "Speakman" answers, but at one point Speakman is looking under a glass of water and Regis quipped "looking for a striker". Tres drol I thought and a good sign that we have a man who will pressurise Speakman and KLD into getting a striker.

I think he seems to be an intelligent man who is honest and humble. He can’t really give clear answers just yet because he’s only been in the job a few days. I think he’s wanting us to improve on last season but won’t get top 6. He’s here to implement a style of play and have some added experience. I’ll reserve judgement on him as performances and results are the most important things for me. I’ll back him and the lads though, let’s hope it works out for us and him!

Terry if I heard right during his interview he said we needed a couple more experienced players so assume that is coming from KS too as RLB has only been in the hot seat for 3 days. Personally I would like 2 goal scorers but so would nigh on every other team in the Championship. So, I would settle for one and hope he stays relatively injury free. Put the holding midfielder with experience into the equation and I am optimistic..... I mean, let's be honest. Patto, Hume, Ballard, O9, Rigg, Neil, Ekwah, Bellingham, Rusyn and Roberts. Not a bad team if they're all fit and that's without any newbies.

The man does talk really well and seems like a canny bloke and it was a very good first press conference from him but the only thing that's very worrying and concerning moving forward is that the coaches that we're bringing in won't be his from Lorient, very disappointing, apparently they're not allowed to upset Dodd's and Proctor, we'll just have to hope that Le Bris is as good on the touchline as he his talking cos in terms of transfers i think it's gonna be the same old same old but hope I'm wrong

If this conspiracy of speakman not letting him have staff was true, we wouldn't be interviewing for new additions to the staff would we. Le bris made on to phil smith that he hadn't really had a close bond with his staff at lorient, le bris might want a new backroom staff
@@camrogerz that might be true with some of them but apparently Le Bris has worked with his number 2 for a while so u would think he would at least want him, we also have to remember that Le Bris is a head coach so he's gonna have little to no say, it was the same with Mowbray and Beale so it'll be the same with Le Bris, the way this club is run we'll probably Appoint coaches that's got connections with Speakman and Dodd's from the Birmingham days, if managers or coaches have any say they take at least 1 of there coaches from a previous job, if not then they've clearly got no say and all coaches will be picked by Speakman and KLD, just my opinion

Good interview for me terry.he,s only been there five minutes so obviously needs to be really careful what he says but the only thing that worries me is who will be the other coaches cant possibly be dodds and proctor were just going to have to wait and see.i dont think we will bring in many players also.i think there hoping R,L,B gets the best out of what we have.just praying they get a bit experience in and a propper goalscorer.

Its a lot about the plan , basically there behind with extra coaching staff, transfers could be old or young but must fit the plan, hes going to play attacking football, this season unknown position in league depending on getting coaching staff and players which suit the plan,. I think with regis and the board and the plan we need to judge end of season. I like regis tells it as it is no bull winning the leauge etc i like him.
