My name is Tim and I am a C-4 quadriplegic. This is the first video I've watched on your channel, and I am truly in awe of your strength and independence. Seeing you handle everything on your own while living in a van is incredibly inspiring. Even if I could use my upper body, I can't imagine doing what you do every day. Your positive message in the video really resonated with me. Your determination and upbeat attitude are so uplifting. Keep doing what you're doing...you’re making a significant impact. Wishing you all the best😀
Hey Tim, thank you so much for the positive words. Don't underestimate yourself I bet you would thrive at Van life, if given the chance. Thanks for commenting and I hope you'll be sticking around the channel
I am 84 and sometimes I get angry my loss of strength and the ability to even write script well. Seeing all the fears you face and your ability to adapt and make the best of what you can makes me appreciate what I have left. I still have all my facilities and can adapt to the thing that slow me down. You are an inspiration to be able to accomplish all that you can with your disabilities.
Oh thank you. I can understand your anger as I've lost some strength from my shoulder injury so it's tough when you can compare what you used to be able to do. Let's try our best not to dwell on that though, sound like a deal?
The problem is Devil runs the world. He is lier and murderer. This is the reason why deception and violence are everywhere. This is the reason why the whole world is Sodom. That's why we've got the Gospel about the God's kingdom. Jehovah would put everything in order. The dead will be resurected and we'll meet our loved ones again! :-)
Funny enough…they just reached out to me this week (Bluetti). I’m hesitant to start adding product placements to my videos but I’m sure people will understand what a great opportunity it is.
We have a bluetti AC200p and the Bluetti AC50s. I gotta be honest with you girl. The bigger bluetti station (AC200p and newer) I can’t say anything bad about. It the smaller ones are nothing to write home about.
Your ability to troubleshoot that inverter problem and then figure out how to use the smaller inverter to get the lift to work is outstanding. And you managed to laugh through it all. I would’ve used all kinds of bad words. Thank goodness for brothers too! Great video btw. ❤

I have a Bluetti 200MAX portable power station, you can get one for a backup and directly hook it up to your solar to recharge. You don’t even need your onboard electrical system with it.
Yes, I am definitely contemplating getting a power station - I just got to find a spot for it in the van because it will be pretty heavy for me to lift. Thanks for the suggestion.
Good evening from Lake Brownwood State Park, you're an exceptional person, phenomenal problem solver, and a resilient nomad. Continue living life to the fullest by doing what you love 😎 Stay safe and happy travels.
I am sure that smoothie tasted exceptional. There are always challenges with being disabled and I still hate asking for help but it does get easier the more you do it.
It was very tasty! Part of the reason why it's hard to ask for help is because, for me, I feel like I always have to prove that people with disabilities are capable of things. So it feels like a failure when I need help. But I'm learning to get over that. I wonder if you can relate?
@@Keepinitwheel306 I can relate to some of that. I was also injured later in life and was always very active before it. Admitting I was disabled was one of the hardest things I have ever done. Girl you Rock!!! Your last inspirational statements of "don't let fear stop you" I sooo agree but with my physical disability it's invisible...so I worry more about judgement. Because sometimes I can do it, other times I can't do it & I usually always painfully pay for it both ways😒😮💨. And most people don't ever see that or want to see that & start judging me😡😤. Oh wow, I can understand your fear of judgment. I face a little bit of that because people don't realize I don't have abs or back muscles so I couldn't imagine what it's like when your disability is invisible I hope you find some way to overcome these challenges.
I think you need an inverter generator (duel fuel) for emergencies. Propane inverter generator could probably top off batteries (in about an hour or so) when cloudy days make solar a problem. Alternatively a dc to dc charger from the engine but that’s a bit complicated. Just some thoughts.
I have a DC DC charger but the issue was with the invertor itself, not the batteries. I am thinking of getting a portable power station for situations like this but I’ll need to rebuild my garage a bit.
@Keepinitwheel306 yep, that would definitely help. A good 2000wh would be good, Ecoflow for Bluetti are great. They are about 60pds so once in place it will be good.
From Saskatchewan and living in Saskatchewan, too!! And I am also disabled. Just recently subscribed to your channel. Really enjoyed this video with all the problem-solving that you did. It's a real confidence booster!! You rock.
When things become challenging, I often say "why do things have to be so difficult?" If you decide to do that really research the hell out of it. You could wire it into your charging system (ford and/or solar) and it would always be ready in a situation like this. cheerful little episode, Lisa. I will never complain again in my life, about how much of an effort it is for me to go on an RV mission. I'm properly shamed, and very impressed with your 'sticktoitiveness'. I'll make it a long weekend in my Rv coming up. Well, I hope you post again from Sask.
I’m impressed that you were able to diagnose the problem and find an interim solution. My van’s outlets stay live about 10 min after I turn off the engine as long as I don’t open the driver’s side door. I use the remote start to cool the van with the air conditioner when it’s really hot. I can set the controls to blast cold air, remote start it and it will run for 15 minutes and then shut off. It works well at night or at a rest area when I want a quick nap.
when the engine is running the van’s heat or air conditioning run. You just have to have it set to what you want before you remotely turn on the engine. I have a passenger van, so I have heat and air conditioning in the back as well as what comes out upfront.
Now I am very impressed. You have _lifting limitations_ and you do this. I can't do it, quite honestly, because I am struggling to stay in my own home (they will need to drag me out of here with a swat team if they think I'm going to a nursing home). My situation is different though. I'm not paralyzed but have severe arthritis and I am in my upper '60s. I actually did vanlife for a few months around the same age. But alas today I'd need to drag around a small fleet of personal care attendants with me and I'm not sure they are signing up.
All I can say is you have True Grit! There will always be someone to lend a hand when needed, at least I would hope there is. Thanks for sharing. Be safe😎
Sure you ain’t an electrical engineer with those diagnostics skills?? You did a great interview with Bob! You are a certified van lifer now. I’ve never heard him be so quiet during a van tour! I think he was in awe of your adaptive gear!
Ha, well we did have to take a few electrical classes, but we did not learn anything practical. I suspect Bob didn’t have much to say because it was the fourth I’ve done for you and I pretty much knew the drill and just rambled on 😂😂
Super. It was quite a challenge! Despite all the obstacles in the van, with determination and a lot of effort, you managed to solve the problem without getting hurt. Your video is a great example of all these daily challenges. Welcome back and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, Lisa.Sincerely, Marc L.
Good evening waving a hand, once again if you are ever my way and have issues please don't hesitate to ask for help, and trust me I know what your going through and all I can say to rest out there that watch your channel, you can do anything regardless of medical condition it just takes a lil attitude of I'm going to do that, a little drive inside that's pushes you to do that task, and there is always a way to do what ever you set your mind to and never give up ! Keep trying ! Trust me I know what I'm talking about cause I'm an ex paraplegic I'm still walking why because of attitude and drive and nope never had surgery either and yup still free floating severed spine, and if you see the work I do you would be shocked or scared silly thinking I'm going to get hurt well I've done it enough times work wise that I know my limits, so with that said lol never give up, never give in, use ur temper and attitude the right way and accomplish your goals ! Glad u got the inverter swapped a big thanks to big bro, keep smiling hugs
Ok I am SO IMPRESSED like wow. The ability you have to not panic at all and just find a solution... Whenever I feel like i'm stuck or don't have a solution i immediately panic. I don't have the ability to transfer from the ground to my wheelchair (yet) so I'm terrified of falling for example. I feel like you're never scared! I don't have strong ab or back muscles, same as you, i don't how you manage transfer onto anything like you do. I know we have different conditions (I have spastic CP) and I can't compare my abilities to yours but man, you're the closest example i have to a person with my condition living full time in a van, and it gives me so much hope!! Thank you! I just think something should exist where people with disabilities could have a "mentor" helping them learning new things and having less fears, i really need someone like you in my life haha
I love that this channel gives you hope! I certainly have some fears, but thankfully, I'm usually able to think my way through them and realize they're not as daunting after all. It's something we can all work on and I hope some encouragement can help you with yours as well.
I'm so glad to see you getting more and more subscribers! You're drawing your fans in .. a day at a time! Good work on chasing down that problem .. and nice to meet your brother too! 🙂
@@Keepinitwheel306 I have always enjoyed Bob's "Cheap RV Living" .. he provides so many great tips and interviews some people who showcase the simplicity of living in an RV, Van, Car, Truck, etc. and uses his influence to help others! 17:30 ok good to know it’s not an issue on the way down 😊. I love your problem solving. Thanks so much for sharing All the things. I still think mechanical systems are the best approach but many times you just can’t beat an electric motor. Thinking about washing machines. So. Much. Labor. Without them.
I am very wary of electric things as well and before the van I never even had a lift into my SUV. I just used manual labor. It definitely takes some getting used to - being reliant on things to work - but I am batting 1000 on fixing issues that have creeped up.
OMG, you are amazing. I marvel at your problem solving abilities and tool competence. Enjoy your summer and your smoothies. And thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Great innovative thinking to get through a hiccup! For the next time I wonder if you could wire in a 12 volt accessory plug off your cabin circuit accessable from the floor and from your bed. Then you could use your small inverter and unplug it when your in bed to save power overnight. This old guy from Alberta is awestruck by your independence and ingenuity. Happy Travels

That means so much, thank you. I think a lot of my new subscribers found me from my hiking video, which was very “cinematic” so I’m glad you enjoyed this video! This is probably more of my style with the occasional cinematic video thrown in
We're putting in two inverters because the 110 power is so crucial for getting in and out of bed (actuators similar to yours). One inverter behind the driver seat connected to the Transit CCP2 and the other on the house batteries in the rear. Also will be able to connect the Superarm lift to either the house batteries or the van batteries. Trying for some redundancy on critical systems. Just a thought.
It's so smart of you to think ahead and plan for worst case scenarios. I imagine it has become natural for the two of you to always have a back up - it comes with territory of this wheelie life, eh?

Hi, sweet Lisa! I know nothing about everything, but my desire to feel like I might, by a miracle, say something remotely reasonable or even considered as smart, makes it impossible for me to not say something odd, weird, and perhaps cringe, so here I go: can a power station work as a backup electrical system for your van? P.s. that's not a tricky question. I have no knowledge, but I think a lot, and sometimes that sticks. I'm considering buying a van and doing a simple conversion until I know how I will be using it. As always, I enjoy watching your video. You are a great storyteller. You are very charismatic, smart, problem solver (p.s. I'm a problem/trouble maker), sweet yet assertive and confident, and seem like a great person. Your folks must be very proud of you. I certainly am! Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy! Everything else is manageable! Pops
As always, I’m at a loss as to what to say to your comments 😂 you crack me up Yes, I think a power station would be a good alternative and I’m seriously contemplating finding a space for it in my van
@Keepinitwheel306 so, I said something not 100% dumb about having a power station, was that right? With me, expressing a potential opinion feels like vomiting. It comes out because of impulse, and then I must look at it to see how bad it is and what kind of crap is coming out of my mouth. I always look forward to watching your videos, seeing how you are doing, and I ALWAYS learn something new with you. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay happy! Pops

But alas today I'd need to drag around a small fleet of personal care attendants with me and I'm not sure they are signing up.
oof, arthritis can be so difficult to deal with. I hope you're managing OK. I wish you all the best.
All I can say is you have True Grit! There will always be someone to lend a hand when needed, at least I would hope there is. Thanks for sharing. Be safe😎
Yep, I'm batting 1000 as far as having somebody around when needed! Life is great that way :)
Yes, nomad life is full of unexpected expenses! Thankfully, there are good people that won’t take advantage and can help along the way
Sure you ain’t an electrical engineer with those diagnostics skills??
Welcome back and enjoy the beautiful landscapes, Lisa.Sincerely,
Marc L.
thanks Marc! It always feels good to get the job done in the end
Wow, your determination is amazing !
Do you know Jesus is a messenger of God
I love that this channel gives you hope! I certainly have some fears, but thankfully, I'm usually able to think my way through them and realize they're not as daunting after all. It's something we can all work on and I hope some encouragement can help you with yours as well.
Thanks for the videos. Much appreciated.
My pleasure, I’m glad you’re enjoying them
Ok that just made me a nervous wreck and the video is buffering so I haven’t seen the end. I hope this ends well for you I do love your attitude 🌻
Indeed, there was a resolution in the end, and I got to learn a lot in the process so win-win :)
I'm so glad to see you getting more and more subscribers! You're drawing your fans in .. a day at a time! Good work on chasing down that problem .. and nice to meet your brother too! 🙂
The most amazing thing is that the subscribers have shown real engagement and will probably be very loyal 🥰 it’s an amazing feeling
@@Keepinitwheel306 I have always enjoyed Bob's "Cheap RV Living" .. he provides so many great tips and interviews some people who showcase the simplicity of living in an RV, Van, Car, Truck, etc. and uses his influence to help others! I understand your struggles .. and know that a bad step could put me or anyone in a very difficult situation. You are showing others who are challenged how to make it work. While it's not cool to shame people for their lack of consideration for the disabled .. it is inspiring to engage their imagination in finding ways to meet their needs. We get ahead by giving a hand up! 🤗
You are such a remarkable young woman! You are inspiring me in so many ways. I just had rotator cuff surgery and when ever I start feeling frustrated by my “limitations” from surgery, I think of how you persevere through so many challenges. You are amazing! Thank you for sharing your story! Cheers from Bozeman Montana!
oof, shoulder surgeries are awful. I hope your recovery goes smoothly and with fewer frustrating days. All the best!
@@Keepinitwheel306 When you said you had to endure four shoulder surgeries, I realized how mentally and physically strong you really are! You inspire me!
Power hmmm .. lift to bed . Make stairs if room .....😊
try a small block and tackle hooked to the ceiling and a swing set seat .for back up when no power . YOU ROCK !!!
Oh good idea! I can put a stool on the bench and use it as a midway transfer but your idea sounds pretty cool too
Thanks Brother you Rock
The best big bro 🙌
12:44 surprised the watts and amps are that low. Interesting problem solving and serendipity that ford has that remote start.
Yeah, I was surprised the lift worked, but the blender didn't! Every time I tackle a new challenge, I find out more information
Thanks for joining me on the ride and have a lovely summer as well :D
Great problem solving skills! Most people are scared to death around electricity, but you tackled it like a pro ! Thanks for taking us on your adventures, you are living the dream 😊
Thank you! Troubleshooting previous problems gave me a lot more confidence and it wasn’t as intimidating 😊
@@brer61 good suggestion! I’m seriously contemplating getting a portable power station that could be used for my bed lift. Lots of things to consider and options out there.
Beautiful area. Excellent troubleshooting. Hope Jackery, Bluetti, or EcoFlow send you a nice storage/inverter for backup. Thanks for sharing.😊
A few companies have reached out 😀
The mountains and river were beautiful. I'm really glad your brother was able to help you. We all need help sometimes. Your van is really nice , I have enjoyed watching all your videos.
I'm already missing that place! Thanks for watching and also for complementing my van. It's nice to have someone else appreciate my home.
Welldone Lisa. Thats some good thinking and problem solving. You did good. I'm learning a bunch from the videos.
Right on, it's cool to hear that
Awesome video ❤❤❤ you are giving me such inspiration thank you for sharing your experiences and the hurdles you face every day ❤❤❤❤
Right on! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting
Great job lisa the main thing is you figured out how to get her done, you got this girl!😊
All the support has been truly remarkable! Thanks for being here
Girl! You got spunk! Heaps of it!
I was just telling another commentor how much I like that word. We need to use it way more in the day and age. Thanks!🫶
It helps to be handy while doing van life, you did an awesome job well done💪
Absolutely, and it’s never too late to try and learn something new. UA-cam videos help tremendously for learning new skills too!
Great detective work and finding a temporary solution to your electrical challenge! Enjoy your travels and be safe out there!
Thank you! I did feel a little bit like Sherlock Holmes but I'm happy with the outcome
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!
Echoing all the "hell yeah" comments on your perserverance & ingenuity, also wanna say I just loved the video itself, how you shot & edited it. Looking forward to more keepin' it wheel. ✊
That means so much, thank you. I think a lot of my new subscribers found me from my hiking video, which was very “cinematic” so I’m glad you enjoyed this video! This is probably more of my style with the occasional cinematic video thrown in
Gr8t Channel I found !!
Best wishes...
Vegas
Yay! I'm glad you found the channel. Thanks for being here.
You are so courageous & knowledgeable.
Hi Lisa, wonderful to see you on your video. Sorry to hear you’re having issues I know is that person with a disability it is not easy sometimes , but we seem to get through all our challenges. Really appreciate you Cliff from Australia.
Thanks Cliff!
Lisa, I admire You so much for what You are doing , mainly how You are doing it. It's just amazing how You are dealing with all the obstacles and You always come out on top of it. Love it. I'm also a full time rv traveler, so I know what can happen, but I love every minute of it.
I do hope I will meet You someday, somewhere, anywhere. Please stay safe Lisa 🙏
Road warriors are the best of problem-solving! I'm sure you've dealt with your fair share breakdown as well.
You’re amazing!!
Nice. You can also have one (or more)12v cigarette receptacle(s) around the van wired into your battery/12v system so you don't need to start the van.
Good tip!
Im glad you work it out ... not boring your content.. challenges 😊
@@benoitbenoisbenoistchaine thanks me too 😃
Enjoying all your videos , thanks for sharing
Glad you like them!
You are awesome! that is all.
Your smoothy looks delicious! Way to go girl! your ability to overcome the hardships that come along with this lifestyle , i have an autoimmune disease my some days my fatigue is so extreme! i pick my battles for sure, one day at a time. Love your out look in life❤
Thanks it hit the spot!
Ah yes, I imagine it’s all about managing your day and priorities properly. Life can be a battle
Hi! I'm glad you were able to solve your dilemma! It's always something, isn't it? I guess that's the price we pay in order to do the things that we desire i guess.😊
Yep, that’s vanlife in a nutshell 🤪
A brilliant idea 💡 thanks for sharing experiences and landscapes 👌🏼♿😎🚐
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m sure missing those mountains right now
@@Keepinitwheel306 I'm waiting for the next video in the mountains, those impressive lakes and the cool weather, these days we are suffering temperatures of 48° in the shade 🌡️🔥🥵 it's horrible. Thanks ⛰️🏞️
Yikes, I would melt in those temperatures. We hit 36 here and I was useless
@@Keepinitwheel306Here we look like vampires, we will end up only going out at night ♿🦇😂😂
@@arsolblanes5058 😂
14:36 oh no! So sorry it didn’t work. You got 12v and 10 amps to work with or 120 watts max if that mini inverter is maxed.
I imagine you saw that at all eventually worked out once I put the key in the ignition :-)
Stay safe from the wildfires and smoke!
That’s the plan! We have had smoke blow from far away fires but imminent danger for fires where I am
Way to work through an obstacle using your mind and hooking up that temporary solution.
Thanks! I thought I was stumped, but eventually pulled through
I’m so rubbish asking for help… but since injury I’m getting better but after I’ve struggled like hell first xx
@@HayOborn ha yes seems that’s pretty typical
Might be a good idea to get a manual crank for your bench as a back up system.
That’s not a bad idea. I can make the transfer using a stepstool as an intermediate level when the bench is fully down but multiple options is always good.
* Check the reset overload buttons on the 110v outlet of the inverter, cheap GFIs can be a pain
@@mrglasecki yeah, I did try that. I also have other outlets hard wired to the inverter and they also weren’t working. I opened up the old inverter and couldn’t see anything obviously wrong but I’ll keep it for spare fan, etc parts.
@@Keepinitwheel306 sweet, I'm located in the highland desert of Colorado Rockies 100% off-grid, issue with a harbor freight inverter, mine was easy though , you got this 🤗 if you ever need help in Colorado 😎
I suggest that you purchase a solar generator like a Jackery or Bluetti to run your 110 electrical devices in an emergency.
Yes, I am seriously considering this. Many others have commented and you are all convincing me it's the way to go.
Another great video Lisa! I’m so happy to see your channel growing! Your positivity and never give up attitude is very inspiring. As usual the scenery in your video is beautiful!

ahh wow just watched this whole video.. looks like you're doing good handling alotta challenges .. I just had like my 12th back operation a couple weeks ago 🙃
I’m feeling like I can tackle anything on the road so I’d say I’m doing all right. Oh my goodness I hope you have a good recovery. Best wishes to you.
Groovy, very good to do what you have to do.
Gotta get the job (or adventure!) done
I've sometimes wondered what you would do if the motor went out on the lift you use to get into your van. I hope it never fails you.
I’ve accepted it will probably break again in the future. At least I know I can manage. 🙏🏼
Pops
As always, I’m at a loss as to what to say to your comments 😂 you crack me up
Yes, I think a power station would be a good alternative and I’m seriously contemplating finding a space for it in my van
Pops
It wasn’t dumb at all, and many other people have commented the exact same thing
Just checking to see if the word Amazon causes my comments to be blocked. BTW: You are a fantastic young lady and a great example to us all.
I can see your comment. Why would you think they would block Amazon?
@@Keepinitwheel306 I commented yesterday and mentioned a small economical digital voltmeter (available on Amazon) that would be handy for you to monitor the input to the Inverter without removing the panel board. I think it got deleted after posting and was guessing YT might have canned it for that reason.
@@Ekanselter oh wow! I sure didn’t see that comment. Makes me wonder how much is being censored.
Good question. I'll let you know if it happens again. I going to make a completely new comment shortly with what I sent yesterday - we'll see what happens. Stay tuned... Lol
It happened again. The new comment stayed up for a few hours then poof its gone now.
Hi Lisa, I just started to follow your channel and I very much enjoy watching your videos. I am from Czech Republic 🇨🇿 Last year I had a chance to visit your beautiful country 🇨🇦 🍁 In one of the videos you appreciated us to tell what kind of videos we would like to see in the future. And I thought that it would be great if you share your experience going around Vancouver area in a van. I would like to know what rules for the van life are applicable in Canada, what is allowed and what is forbidden. I dream of coming back and renting a van so that I can experience living in such a beautiful nature! Thank you!❤
I’m glad you found the channel :)
I don’t spend any time within Vancouver because I don’t like cities, so I usually head to Vancouver Island or Whistler area and camp out there
Beautiful
