Hopefully only for this new map. If it takes up normal ghille spawns in maps without snow then its only gonna make people mad, considering ghillies are pretty rare as is.

I’m super excited to finally use white hunter clothes for the camo and insulation. Bringing a scoped tundra up the mountains, ohhh ya. I’m an official player at heart, I’ve never even tried namalsk, so this condensed snowy map has me excited.
You won't want white clothes, you don't want to be wearing white on namalsk and it's even snowier
Namalsk is the best map I've ever played by an insanely large margin for what it's worth, just try to play on there

It‘s great to have the 3. official map!
The Hype was unbelievable to big, even most of it was built by our self.
It‘s not even a new map, just a existing map changed into a Wintermap playable on DayZ.
The big thing is the new Winter Mechanics and Snow related objects become Vanilla! So all the many custom map creators finally have less struggle to ad snowy areas to their maps.
So it‘s not only one new winter map. It‘s the start of many new winter maps.
Thanks to BI that still take care of their game. And thanks to every single person that support DayZ in all kind of different ways.
Im super hype for this map, I've wanted a snow map since i bought the game, its gonna be wonderful going out as a solo on a low pop server and seeing how long I can make it. White hunter clothes meta here we come!

7:05 Were snow storms confirmed? In the Q&A they were asked after blizzards, and they gave kind of a non-answer that seemed like it was less of an actual event and more just windy with poor visibility
That's what I meant by snow storm, strong winds and heavier snowfall. Much like how rain gets heavier and lighter progressively on Chernaurs. I shouldn't of used the word snow storm come to think of it...
@@WOBO No your usage of the word was fine; I more so am just wishing the expand what new environmental features the map will have. Having blizzards, heavier snow falls, etc. can significantly impact gameplay and survivability, which is what makes similar maps such as Namalsk so enjoyable compared to vanilla. Regardless, whatever features are absent I am sure the PC community will mod them over!
I totally agree with Paul (TRMZ) I bet they are working on a follow-up to Dayz after Arma 4. Exciting things a foot. I really hope you don't delete your channel I have just found it 😂

And some items from the game files from the alpha version. It sounds like something worth paying $30 for (sarcasm) Although it is clear to everyone that this is mainly for console players, they do not have winter maps or frost mechanics.
It is for console player anyway, like 99% of the changes done to the game for the last few years. It's hard to blame them honestly but as a PC player since ArmA 2 mod, the games has become very very different and not as fun as it was before. But i'm happy console players got their winter map.
Thing is, they could have gave us Tanoa for real, this would have been very nice to have a jungle map etc.

I wish they would have started adding the arma maps like a decade ago.
DayZ has/had such potential. But then again, we all know we asked for them to spend 3 months of dev time to copy paste a machete. Or 3 months to copy paste a mime mask. Or 3 months to copy paste a rifle that's gets bugged out for a year.
Especially fingerless gloves. That's definitely what I spent a my money and a decade playing for.
At least the winter hunting outfit that's been useless for centuries finally has a purpose I guess.
Regardless, I'm still looking forward to checking it out.

Honestly kinda over the cold maps. I want a hot map, tropical or desert, where disease and water are big issues and you can't just slap all the most protective clothing on yourself or face overheating
We have takistan to get exactly that experience. Or Lux which is also a very hot map but more of a jungle setting instead of a desert one.
I hope they would use the frostbite mechanics, it makes the beginning more fun imo... Oh well... I hope at least snow storms will make you wet (slowly than when it rains but still)...

If it's winter, why do the trees still have leaves? Get rid of the leaves and add green pine trees to break up all the whiteness.

not really, since youll still be sitting in a bush/tree or a window once you spot someone, so usually dark colours still work better

as bushes and grass dont render at a distance and the ground will most likely render as white from a distance you can hide perfectly in the open
@@tavish4699 Bushes and trees do render, grass doesnt. Look at the winter maps that exist right now, I doubt it will work completely differently on Sakhal.
Also it wouldnt work like that anyway, you cant really hide on the ground in dayz. Even on chernarus if you are wearing green you will stick out at range if you just lay on the floor.

I would like to see a Hot spring in which you can bath and get the heat buff. Of cause you have to take of clothes first.
I didn't even know someone was crazy enough to make a Winter Tanoa, but it sure is throwing me off with Tanoa's infamous and gorgeous crystal clear blue waters lol. (Still kinda upset the devs used my baby, my absolute favorite map on Arma 3 to do this, and not have the courtesy of just leaving it alone and adding to it and giving us our promised boats, planes and helicopters.....Tanoa was/is entirely too gorgeous)
Here's a question for you Wobo... do you think that, given that Sakhal is based SO HEAVILY on Tanoa... do you think they'll release/open up modding/porting over a "vanilla" version of Tanoa for DayZ use?

thanks for admitting the overhype. for PC players its mixed feelings, theres still a laundry list of community consensus requested features over nearly a decade and none have been delivered (apart from bug fixes) and to have the devs spending any time to recreate features that already exist (i.e. namalsk cold/weather mechanics) seems like paying BI to sell us back features that already exist. a new map is great and all but comes with a price tag too, and on PC there isn't exactly a lack of maps. given the past year or two was slightly different zombie behavior, chainmail, and rearranging NWAF the content has been disappointing. im sure the map will be cool im sure.

I think they add a very fun part to the game moving by boat, in almost all the maps we have water and they can't put a simple boat :(

Wobo. I am on the verge of cracking something, but I don’t have the data gathering tools you do. I’m pretty sure there is a breakable pattern to the way that the numbers on 4dial locks randomize after locking. Look into it?
