I do that loop almost fortnightly. Those roadworks are all to do with the damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle. When the roads are fixed it will be even better. I'm on an "adventure" bike, so the gravel actually makes things more interesting for me. In Canberra, the AEVA group here runs an "EV Experience Day" every two or three months, where we just go out to a shopping centre parking lot or a park or something and people can come by and ask us questions. Cheers man! I know.. it's crazy. I guess because EV charging stations are usually just in one or two spots in parking lots, they don't have the funding or approval to install covers like gas stations do. Until we get a designated charging area the size of a gas station, it'll always be an after thought. When the batteries heat up, the charging speed starts to drop to make sure it doesn't get damaged. We didn't wanna wait that long so we plugged in the cooler battery first.

I had a chance to test ride their new adventure model at Everything Electric Live last weekend, but I would have had to hang around another 2 hours just for that after I'd already seen everything else, and since there was no chance I'd buy one even if it were fantastic to ride it wasn't worth the wait to me.

After 6,5 years I'm starting to notice some degradation in my S 100D for the first time, but is is odd when you suddenly notice you have to take an extra charging stop into account when you have a 1200 km trip planned (four stops instead of three). It is such a strange thing to notice how your vehicle suddenly gets less range from a charge. I mean, rationally you know it is bound to happen, but once it becomes reality, it truly is a weird sensation. Especially because it has come relatively suddenly.
