I can't speak on behalf of others, but I certainly needed this. One of the inplementable steps to help resist this problem that you brought up that I found particularly useful is just exposing one's self more to the real world and seeing concrete proof or "data" if you will, of how people are really reacting and the true state of the world (at least in the local sphere).
I appreciate you watching , Doug. Thank you for sharing how you deal with collective anxiety, so that others may try doing that as well. Have an awesome day!
Thank you for this great and very timely topic. I need to remember to remind myself that everything will *probably* be okay (even though social media algorithms and the news are causing many of us great anxiety).
I appreciate you watching. What is the first thing you are planning to do to address collective anxiety?
@@DocSnipes Thanks for the thoughtful question! I had to think about it for a bit, but going forward, I will find a more healthy substitute every time I am tempted to doom scroll / obsess over politics and societal problems (by going for a walk, reading to my young kids, finishing household projects, etc.).
Thank you for the information ✅
You’re so welcome. I truly appreciate you wa
Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

Learn to keep patience and hold space and training the mind to sustain the discomfort of the situation that makes you anxious.

It's helpful to remember, with stuff like plane crashes, it's only news if it's NOT normal. The norm is not news
Also, my family would call you anorexic. According to people I know, being in the healthy weight range is anorexic.
I appreciate you watching
All media is to shock and entertain at the same time.

Emails used to be a source of anxiety for me. The feeling that you're going to have to read something awful and negative. Dreadful way to live.
I am sorry about that and I appreciate you watching
This is a media's job . Sensationalism is known from the time of crisis in 1929-35 . What is terrible people are more interested in a bad news than anything ,what would be positive . This results in making a big issue from any crime or catastrophes . The best way to manage with is just turn it off.
By the way . They should be prosecuted ,for that what they did during pandemic , in fact media are responsible for creating corona phobia.
I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts on the subject, Anita.
My children are more confused now a days then we were in the 80s 90s for me anyway and it's hard for me to explain things because of the things they see on TV and the stuff they watch on the internet
I have a brain disorder and I have ran across your your videos and making sense easy for me to understand and I can relate as well thank you so much
I am sorry you are going through that and I appreciate you watching.
I call it spying but for me sometimes the internet is a helpful resource because if I had a rotary phone I wouldn't know what a brain disorder was especially something that needed a diagnose since I was a baby I was born with it and I was lucky me and my twin brother survived in the 80s because I found out my late 30s and then it was rare and accidentally found and my near surgeon told me nothing about it except I needed surgery right away because of my brain stem compression and cervical spine compression and my brain herniating my cerebral with going through the fossa I believe it's called and I am so glad cuz you have been so helpful as well I've had to be my own researcher and MRI readers to be able to understand
For me is my health that I have to be the one to put all the effort just to get help from my doctor and I've been turned down by mental health even saying they can't see me because it's a neurological thing so me here and now this situation
Is that thing is I've had two major brain surgeries not even 2 years ago so sometimes I'm not strong enough but I have to pick myself up and keep myself going and this is where you come in and you even talk about my children a better way I can help them that makes sense to me and and I and I well it's a rarity for me
For me is to be honest is because I get to help someone that is scared like I was doing it by myself and no doctor just caring to listen I call it burnt out I understand doctors get stressed out or human right but is one thing stressed out is different than the doctor and patient rights but the oath that they took and the hard work building the career and turning your back on your patient patience I'm able on top of my own anxiety will be glad and honor to help somebody that was lost like I was and still am today if you want it for you know the support groups you know I don't think we know what to do really having chiari malformation is horrible decapitating disease I just wow I don't know just crazy sometimes
piece of mind that is a support a support group
