Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. I replaced my OCD in thoughts with cognitive awareness.... now I'm an expert at it. I was given a dose of 30mil of escitalopram (dangerous dosage) by a psychiatrist and weaned myself off them completely. Brazilian jiu-jitsu saved my life, now I'm complementing it with yoga, breathwork, walks in the park, eating clean, high water intake, less caffeine. I'm not a master of my own mind yet, but I will be some day. Breathwork (at least) should be a part of every person's daily routine. The mind can be conquered peeps, the intrusive thoughts can be irradicated and mental freedom can easily be enjoyed.

Here are some methods that work (long but very useful): When your own mind, which knows your darkest secrets turns on you, because it forgets to love itself (a basic characteristic of all living beings), it can bring untold misery - an enemy that knows more about you than you. Unconditional self-love works like a charm against OCD. Self-love brings unconditional security, which kills anxiety like light removes darkness. Love yourself unconditionally. OCD either forces you to a life of suffering or it makes you a liberal saint. OCD gives you your own deep embedded sociopath self out to sabotage you. But this personal inner sociopath melts at the touch of kindness, security and intimacy. Every animal, however ferocious with other animals, is always gentle with itself. Then why not you? Love yourself, be secure, and befriend your subconscious scheming sociopath monster with love. Hating him/her will only feed its manipulations and motivations. Embrace thy enemy. Ask "why? and "for whose benefit?" when the monster accuses and suggests crimes. Even the most sociopathic monster child breaks down in the face of unrelenting self-love. Absence of fear is fearlessness. But the opposite of fear is security and love. Shower yourself with it, all your selves, outer to innermost, innermost first, including the sociopath. Works like magic. Unconditional self-forgiveness is a major component of unconditional self-love. Digging up the past is repeating the same thought crimes. No human court or logical system does that. Why you? Guilt-tripping is half the disorder. Too much fake accusation and too much forced guilt where you are not guilty. Shaming and making you feel guilty is half the joy of the sociopath inside. Ask him/her why all the scheming, when everything is otherwise ok? It then boils down to perceiving wrongly pain as joy. Which is the the backbone of the socioapth's motivations. A normal self-loving sociopath does not inflict pain on himself/herself. Tell that to your inner sociopath. Talk to the inner sociopath every day. He/she can be reformed quickly with security and love.

I recently went through terrible trauma and have noticed the development of these obsessive thoughts (first intrusive thoughts) in my mind. Initially, I wanted to admit myself to a hospital or something- I thought I was an awful human being for even considering harming someone I care about, even if I would never on my life go through with it. Then, with the help of videos like these, I started to regain a level of control and comfort over my reactions to these thoughts that I cannot control. So here’s what I have learned you. Can cope. It is possible. I’ve never had this but after university, holy wow. Did this just ever come about.... I really think it boils down to circumstances of stress... because from what I can understand, stress creates anxiety which creates OCD. So keep yourself calm know that you will are in charge and will not do anything; because you do not have to believe everything your mind thinks.

Our daughter developed OCD and intrusive thoughts more as she learned things during school. What we learn we can become afraid of and it depends on the person. When you were a toddler you'd walk off the edge of a skyscraper because you weren't aware of the danger. As we mature, what we learn can affect certain people and cause anxiety. That "fear" of certain things eventually causes more anxiety and OCD becomes a way for the brain to try and cope with it. You must understand your fears and work with a therapist to uncover why you have anxiety. Then, the OCD goes away, but it takes time to retrain the way you think. GET HELP as soon as you can because life should be fun! Like he mentioned in this video, find someone understands anxiety/OCD and begin a program. You will have to know your fears and expose those fears and once you know those things will not harm you, the fears will fade and so will the OCD. OCD is basically a common learned behavior that became a conditioned way of life due to fears. You can do this! Conquer your fears and enjoy the world around you. When you were a child you were probably fearless. Find that again. :)
I have been dealing with this OCD for awhile now and it's nice to know that I'm not just no matter what a horrific person. These thoughts have tortured me and when I have had them I just break down and it's great that we have people who know about these mental disorders. Thank you!
After going to therapy i realized that since my childhood and early teens i developed ocd, it just wasn't life altering, i though it was normal to be like this, when my dad passed and witnessing him leaving us i went into a deep depression that somehow made my ocd explode, at the time i did not know what was going on and believed everything my ocd told me, i was going crazy, considered ending my life because the thought's where so strong and horrible and i believed i was transforming into this monster so i just could not live with that. After reading a lot on the subject, listening to podcast and most important, going to therapy i feel much better but i still have a long way to go. I love my life, love my wife, pets, job,traveling, surfing, camping,etc and ME and YOU dont deserve this!!!. If you are reading this there is hope, hold on to your life and your freedom, we will get through. There is a line in a song called Brain Damage by Pink Floyd that says "there is someone in my head but its not me" it perfectly describes whats going on but remember its NOT YOU, calm down, let the thought's in, dont give a fuck about them, go to therapy, its hard, some times the anxiety will sky rocket, but its way worth it.
I stumbled across this video while researching something for myself and I am sitting here, jaw hanging slack, absolutely dumbfounded. Over the last 15 years or so I have been gradually losing my younger sister to a cluster of the most perplexing, upsetting, frustrating, hurtful, and bizarre set of behaviors and speech. I feel like she has gradually morphed into something completely unrecognizable from the happy, goofy kid I grew up with. This video just gave me hope that she is not completely lost. Oh my goodness. I can’t believe I never saw it before. It explains EVERYTHING. The grumpy, harsh, worrying, controlling/presumptuous behavior, bizarrely abnormal, religiously influenced stiff and rigid way of talking and thinking, germ, cleanliness, and health obsessions, difficulties with work, difficulties with her husband, myself, and our parents, difficulties making and keeping friends, actual health problems and pain, overthinking, worrying about EVERYTHING.... It’s plain as day to me now that my little sister has OCD. I have taken notes on the video and sent it to my mom and I trepidatiously await morning so that I can approach my sister. Thank you SO MUCH for this practical and clear presentation. I hope and pray that she is receptive. She has been suffering so badly for so long. Thank you again.

Thanks for this video I’m really REALLY struggling with my ocd during this lockdown - more so than I ever remember before. The same thought keep whirling around in my head and has been for weeks - since lockdown started. I’ve ruminated, I’ve researched, I’ve analysed every freaking detail of it and then analysed it again until I’ve observed the thought from every conceivable angle. Then I’ll think of a NEW angle to analyse it from and it will start all over again. It’s driving me absolutely nuts and it won’t stop. I’m exhausted, and because I’m not working I have nothing to distract myself from the thought and it’s just there. All. The. Time. Then of course the compulsions and rituals arise, which tire me out even more. I’ve never been so tired in my entire life.

Thanks John I had OCD as an adolescent but was able to get therapy to help me deal with underlying anxieties and emotional conflict that was giving rise to it. I am now a psychotherapist that helps people with this disorder. You are definitely on the right track here. I saw a video recently that told people that there was nothing they could do to stop OCD thoughts and they just had to live with them and observe them. This was without giving them any advice about anxiety or emotional trauma that would be giving rise to the condition. I thought the video was traumatising. I'm glad your out there.

I appreciate having stumbled upon this. Having been socialised in religious/spiritual communities, I was taught that "my thoughts manifest my reality" without any real context on my obsessive thoughts reflecting underlying anxiety and unconscious patterns of behaviour. Telling my mind that it is the sole creator of my life resulted in me trying desperately to control my thoughts with other thoughts. It's been exhausting, and I'm grateful for this sort of insight.
Well - sad thoughts generate sad emotions and happy thought generate happy emotions, regardless of the truth of what is happening around you. However, anxious people need the world to be different so they feel good. Happy people have an attitude of happiness, optimism and trust. Did you watch videos 1, 2 and 3 in my youtube channel? What most people fail to recognise about the law of attraction are... Firstly, the level of consciousness of the person affects how much energy is available for them to collapse the waveform of potentiality into actuality. And secondly, the person needs to be at a corresponding consciousness for what they are asking for. It's no use asking for a confident and funny partner if you are an anxious and nervous person. It is only that, when you have anxiety that pops up as obsessive and deeply upsetting thoughts, it's quite disturbing for people to tell you to "quickly switch them off otherwise they will come true". So I totally hear and value your response, and your videos have, in fact, helped me to begin to turn my thoughts around. Baby steps 😅 but knowing, as you put it, that I am not my thoughts (as my thoughts themselves suggest), really puts me at ease. I get a bit panicked when this happens, out of the need to control my thoughts, but I'm quite chuffed to be able to push through those moments! 😊

Like I replied to someone else on this forum, close your eyes and count how many thoughts happen in your head in 30 seconds. Let's say you count 8. So, who are you? The one making the thoughts or the one counting the thoughts? Of course, you are the observer of the thoughts!

I had OCD from around age 16 making sure everything was turned off in my home when I leave because of the fear of a fire starting and the animals I own burning to death because of actions I didn't take to protect them. Recently I've developed pure o and have been having the most disturbing instrusive thoughts. Thoughts that went against my morals and made me feel depressed and eventually caused a mental breakdown. I've been meditating recently and learning to not believe every thought that occurs in my mind and only choose thoughts that empower me. Once you start living in the present moment life becomes alot clearer.

What a calming voice this man has ✅ I’ve had a lot of therapy and I have learned a lot from this video! I have had OCD since being a child and I struggle even after therapy - even with the ‘tools’. Most people aren’t aware that OCD is about intrusive thoughts/compulsions - they assume you have to be cleaning a lot. I do clean a lot - I always wondered why but it’s just been clarified. I clean because it keeps my mind busy and therefore free from OCD (that’s the plan), and to take energy up (away from OCD), and lastly because I need (or the OCD does) order. The question I’ve always had is - why do I have OCD? I guess it’s different for most people but there must be a general reason. I have a narcissistic mother who has made my life hell and still tries to even though I’m 49, I think this is my reason. I had an unhappy childhood full of anxiety and stress and fear. I also suffer badly with chronic pain, caused by a dentist 10 years ago and subsequently have fibromyalgia. Any kind of emotional stress makes the pain worse yet I can’t stop the OCD. I didn’t explain - the dentist damaged my jaw, I have a bad case of tmj - extreme head pain, even talking starts it off. The doctors explained that being in severe pain, my brain re-wired itself hence fibromyalgia. I also have migraine, they’re hell but this head pain leaves them standing and at least they go with the prescriptions. That aside, I believe and agree with all you say, I think I could somehow help ease the pain - stress makes it worse, but nothing magical happens when I’m calm!! I appreciate your help very much. I would like my life back so very much, what’s left of it!! I think fibromyalgia will be detected at some point - diabetes wasn’t detected in Victorian times for example, and fibro was called rheumatism for a long time. Well, guilt is a huge topic. Basically, it is the difference between what you do (or think) compared with what you think (or were trained to think) you "ought" to do in any moment. Then you beat yourself up for not doing what you think you "ought" to do! Which is basically self-abuse because nobody is making that comparison except yourself. Plus, when you are doing the beat yourself up guilt trip, the thing you did (or didn't do) has already been done. So, really it is a self-abusive waste of time trying to live up to somebody else's expectation of who you "ought" to be. It's exhausting and leads nowhere - except anxiety and depression. A better question to ponder is.... Which part of you is beating up which another part of you? And the answer is, your inner judge is beating up your inner victim, then your inner pleaser is trying to make everyone happy, which makes your inner rebel really angry - and so it goes on automatically within your subconscious mind until you can see that you are doing this to yourself without releasing! The path to freedom is radical honesty (or silence) and not being horrible to yourself. Winston Churchill famously said "What anyone else thinks of me is none of my business...!" If your friend looks fat, tell her or be silent - but don't lie! If a friend asks you if you are OK (and you are not), say you are not, its just the truth. But if you lie she will think you are OK and then you might be angry that she can't see you are unhappy - but you told her you were OK!!!! I teach people ways to understand themselves and others - so they can find more calmness inside. Much of this was all installed within our brain during childhood - but it can be changed if you put some effort in. John
See the overwhelm as a good thing, like stuck trauma finally being released from the cells of your body after all these years, don't resist your emotions - let them come up. John

You just have to belive and have faith that once again you’ll be alright brothers and sisters. Its not easy, its by far the hardest thing i have had to deal with my whole life. Try your best not to engage in the thoughts or analyze what your mind is ”trying to telling you”, they’re are all just lies fueld with fear. Some people probably experience the same things without even knowing or they might even notice but just dont care enough to bother engaging in it. But you’re aware and you have good heart. You just live in a world full of weak minded people. Not the ones who suffer, but the ones who choose to follow evil. No matter how real the situation gets, it cant hurt you. And Even tho it feels like it gets worse every time, it will get better, i promise. The relief will be much greater and You will experience life like you never have before. Just have faith that one day You Will find yourself looking back at this time in your life, and you will be at ease. Keep moving forward and never give up, one day you will be taken care of and you will be rewarded for your patience 💛🙏💛🤲
I had it a few years ago ( not completely out but a lot lot better now) Books and friends helped me get out of it. Plus I used to do this when experiencing ocd: Ask yourself that what would happen if you didn't respond to this disease( whichever ocd it is). That, would something really bad happen to you? Now pull up yourself and don't do the ocd activity. See? You won't die even if you don't It will take time to get over like this but it worked for me. I hope it does for you too. And always be positive.
I used these videos with my daughter and they were the most significant part in her recovery. They help us understand what was happening. They also helped me learn about myself. I would recommend the course to anyone that truly wants to recover.
My personal experience tells me that you CAN ABSOLUTELy get over OCD. I expereinced it for 3 years. After that I lived the best 3 years of my whole life. However, after a very stressful year, and breaking up with my girlfriend (well, ex girlfriend), I have relapsed, and as the video says at the end, OCD makes you doubt EVERYTHING, and it will make you doubt about even the things you love the most... At first I experienced fear of being gay (when I was 17)... Now, I am obsessed with my past... The possitive part of this relapse is that I am getting to know myself even more and more. I am doubting things that, of course, are stupid... But my problem has been that my therapists don't adress my anxiety, they refuse to give me medication, which I think is very important: in my case, if there's no anxiety, there are fewer chances for me to start the process of thinking and thinking and thinking. I don't have physical compulsions, they are just mental, cheking if what I remember is actually true. I am obsessed with whether I really loved my ex-gf... And makes me suffer so much. However I want to tell you (and myself) that you can get over this, and when you get over it you will enjoy life more than other people, you will find the value of little thigns, trust me, YOU WILL GET OVER IT, AND IT WILL BE AMAZING!
Iyan Eki hey bro!! Of course we're not. As I said I got over that. You can get over it. I haven't had a thought like that for almost 4 years now. Now my obsession is different, I doubt of my past... I have to constantly check if what I remember is true.... so what I'm sayisng is that it's all OCD. You will doubt. Just doubt. No matter what. My brain is constantly flooded with negative thoughts... If I'll not touch the switch then maybe the electrical appliance will catch fire... I'm constantly worrying about my loved one's life... That they may get depressed about something I did and they'll die and I'll not be able to get over that (whether it's my mistake or not)... Classic OCD negative thinking. This scenario usually has associated perspectives such as, feeling excessive responsibility, low self-esteem and co-dependency. Rather than working on the OCD (which is a symptom) you need to be working on those other aspects of your personality if you want real change in your life. John
It’s true about the fear. Ocd are just symptoms but I can’t get rid or both. My mind is occupied with ocd and fear. I have to train my brain to think of something or nothing to not to think about the ocd

💖PLEASE READ THIS💖 A little over a year ago, (September 20th to be exact,) I had a thought that came to my mind. I was recently going to an event that I went to every year, but the last year was different. I stayed home for a full week, because I was making myself sick from stress, not sleeping much, etc. I was going to ask my mom if it would happen again, because I am a worrier. Asking my mom and having her tell me I wouldn’t, would help me feel less stressed. I never asked her, because I just told myself that I wouldn’t. I kept on thinking about this thing, but not too often. Until I realized, I was getting this weird feeling in my head. If you have OCD, I’m sure you know what I mean. It feels like a large cluster of horribleness, thoughts. The only time you don’t have obsessive thoughts is when you sleep. Your fear may still be in ur dream, but you don’t really think about it while you are asleep. As soon as I wake up, I’ll be lucky if I get 1 hour of no my obsessive fear. Then it just comes to my head immediately. When I get a few days of no obsessive thoughts, or just think about my fear slightly, I feel amazing. Now, about quarantine. I don’t know about you, but I am still in school, and my parents are really concerned, and want to make sure I’m okay, as they should. No one where I live really cares about it, and I am one of the very few kids in my class who are online. (We have a choice to be online or not.) Anyway, quarantine has made my OCD SO bad, and I fear to talk to someone about it. I’ve told my best friend about this, but I am scared to confess my fear. The thing I fear now is completely different than the the fear I once did fear. The one thing that makes me happy, is my friends. Especially my best friend. I trust her with my life. I can’t co one day without talking to her. She is like a sister to me. I miss her so much, even though I talk to her everyday. It is different than seeing her in person, especially if you are used to hanging out everyday, to never hanging out again. This summer, I missed something that made me so upset. Now, just for some information, I go to this Bible camp, with my two best friends in The whole wide word. I begged my mom EVERYDAY that I could go, but of course, I couldn’t. Both of my friends got to go, and I can’t deal w being left out very well. I cried A LOT about not being able to go. Right before camp, I dreamed that I went to camp w my friends, but when I woke, I realized it was just a dream. I started to instantly cry, which had never happened to me before. My thoughts make my fears come to reality. Just like how you can make your mind make us sick if we think we are. Our human brains are powerful! Even to the point where it can be a little too powerful. I also, loved to go to my local Youth Group, which was very sad to me when I couldn’t go anymore because of COVID-19. God is a big part of my life, and so are my friends and family. I have a great relationship w my family, but I feel that I am easily open more to my friends, probably bec they can relate to me more, and are the same age as me, because I am the youngest in my family, and my youngest sibling is 6 1/2 years older than me. God and my friends keep me happiest. I just know he is helping and trying to get me through this! I am planing on telling my friend soon! Thankyou for this video, especially since I really regret not asking my mom that one day, and it really helped me so so much with understanding my problems! (Srry for such a long story, and if you read all of that, I love you 💖) :) (Also, this really proves that the little things, sometimes matter the most, and the littlest change/mistake can change life.)
I want to just be happy and get pleasure in living a normal life with everyday basic things. My mind is constantly processing a thought and it’s been over 12 years now I am 30 and literally sick and tired of this. Luke, walk for 45 minutes a day ,don't run ,jog in the start. Just walk(45 minutes and cycle (15 minutes ) ,if yiu don't have have cycle don't worry but just walk for 45 minutes and slowly increase 5 minutes a day
@@Ajayhanand Great advice, I have some pretty bad ocd myself. Exercise is the one thing that has helped me. I find myself calmer and less anxious after exercise.
This video made me cry..so many of my questions were answered that I have been asking myself for years. Why am I like this? Why am I so controlling? Why do I get angry at X reason? Etc. When I was diagnosed with OCD I felt some sort of relief to know that there was a reason behind my irregular and frustrating behavior. That I’m not the only one that goes through this. I always thought OCD was just a fear of germs and a constant need to be clean. But it’s so much more than that and it’s not an easy thing to deal with. I’ve been passed around from provider to provider and I gave up on therapists because I was spending so much money on telling someone I’m “doing better than last week”. For some crazy reason I feel like I don’t want to get rid of my OCD (because I feel like I HAVE to always go through with my compulsions..although extremely annoying and frustrating), this video helped me more than my visits and I feel that I will do better in the future. This answers so many of my questions and it’s a huge relief as I feel fucked up.The compulsion list hit me mainly the fear of harming others and fear of being gay i know for a fact I’m not gay I feel no arousal from the same sex as me but it’s always in my head and the harming others scares me so much

I'm kind of exhausted of normal people trying to protect the feelings of the mentally ill by saying "oh it's not a disorder its just different", it's a disorder because your brain isnt working the way it should be and it causes you immense discomfort. I'd love to see some healthy guy try out having OCD for a day and then seeing if he still doesnt think it's a disorder.

This video made me feel so much better about some things that I experience in my daily life. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 8 (almost 12 years ago), and although I had a good idea of what having OCD entails, I had no idea that some of my seemingly random (and infuriating) habits could possibly be caused by my OCD. When he said that some people with OCD can be very controlling of other people close to them because they need things to be a certain way, it clicked for me. I feel like I am constantly unsatisfied with the way my partner carries out certain tasks like cleaning, organizing, remembering to do things, etc. I always have to ask him if he did something a certain way if he remembered to do something, or I just end up doing the task for him or redoing it to avoid the anxiety it brings. This makes him feel upset and makes me feel upset too because I cannot help that I need things done a certain way and he feels like when he does things "it's not good enough". I feel guilty a lot and lately, I just do things myself instead of asking him to do things. I never knew that this could possibly be because of my OCD.

Well I used to have OCD what really helped me was God and Christ because I used to tick alot because I was afraid anything could happen to my family but then I noticed that moving something 3 times won't help cause God controls everything with purpose not because in move something 3 times so yeah you guys should think about this :)
I had ocd, along with anxiety and depression for years and found that cutting out sugar from my diet (sugar is an inflammatory that feeds your brain the wrong stuff) and taking an anti-inflammatory like curamed every day helps a lot. Not giving medical advice, just saying what worked for me. I still have relapses here and there, but not nearly as intense or long. I'm much better now. My ocd, anxiety and depression was caused by severe childhood trauma.
Yes sugar reduction is good - I think lots of anxiety, is in fact, hypoglycaemia based. But the OCD probably needs addressing by processing that childhood trauma. My course teaches how to do that. Best wishes John
What i have noticed more with ocd is that, it can create "puzzles" that have no logic and make no sense, and you feel as if you solve it, then you will feel better or make the anxiety or uncomfortable thoughts go away, for me I have noticed I no longer have anxiety, but my mind still creates these loops, with no real solution, so no matter what you do or say, it will give you a different disturbing thought, making you feel annoyed, inconvenienced, and confused. I finally got tired of wasting so much time trying to think my way out, or come up with a solution, so I simply practice what john teaches, and that is to not give the thoughts any meaning! This seems to be more difficult at first, but eventually when you get the hang of it, starts to get easier to dismiss them! Thanks John!

If you walk for 45 minutes for 3 months ,this will go . I felt calmer in just 3 days and then everyday you are better and better , half of the disease will go off in a month of consistent effort , just walk and cut completely on sugar ( our body doesn't need sugar ,it creates it from food , insulin changes body harmonal order )

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. There are many types of meditation. Since you're a beginner, you should do some easy meditation, like transcendental meditation. I started it as a beginner and it was very good for instant focus.

I replaced my OCD in thoughts with cognitive awareness.... now I'm an expert at it. I was given a dose of 30mil of escitalopram (dangerous dosage) by a psychiatrist and weaned myself off them completely. Brazilian jiu-jitsu saved my life, now I'm complementing it with yoga, breathwork, walks in the park, eating clean, high water intake, less caffeine. I'm not a master of my own mind yet, but I will be some day. Breathwork (at least) should be a part of every person's daily routine. The mind can be conquered peeps, the intrusive thoughts can be irradicated and mental freedom can easily be enjoyed.

Here are some methods that work (long but very useful):
When your own mind, which knows your darkest secrets turns on you, because it forgets to love itself (a basic characteristic of all living beings), it can bring untold misery - an enemy that knows more about you than you. Unconditional self-love works like a charm against OCD. Self-love brings unconditional security, which kills anxiety like light removes darkness. Love yourself unconditionally.
OCD either forces you to a life of suffering or it makes you a liberal saint.
OCD gives you your own deep embedded sociopath self out to sabotage you. But this personal inner sociopath melts at the touch of kindness, security and intimacy.
Every animal, however ferocious with other animals, is always gentle with itself. Then why not you? Love yourself, be secure, and befriend your subconscious scheming sociopath monster with love. Hating him/her will only feed its manipulations and motivations. Embrace thy enemy. Ask "why? and "for whose benefit?" when the monster accuses and suggests crimes. Even the most sociopathic monster child breaks down in the face of unrelenting self-love.
Absence of fear is fearlessness. But the opposite of fear is security and love. Shower yourself with it, all your selves, outer to innermost, innermost first, including the sociopath. Works like magic.
Unconditional self-forgiveness is a major component of unconditional self-love. Digging up the past is repeating the same thought crimes. No human court or logical system does that. Why you? Guilt-tripping is half the disorder. Too much fake accusation and too much forced guilt where you are not guilty. Shaming and making you feel guilty is half the joy of the sociopath inside.
Ask him/her why all the scheming, when everything is otherwise ok? It then boils down to perceiving wrongly pain as joy. Which is the the backbone of the socioapth's motivations. A normal self-loving sociopath does not inflict pain on himself/herself. Tell that to your inner sociopath.
Talk to the inner sociopath every day. He/she can be reformed quickly with security and love.

I recently went through terrible trauma and have noticed the development of these obsessive thoughts (first intrusive thoughts) in my mind. Initially, I wanted to admit myself to a hospital or something- I thought I was an awful human being for even considering harming someone I care about, even if I would never on my life go through with it. Then, with the help of videos like these, I started to regain a level of control and comfort over my reactions to these thoughts that I cannot control. So here’s what I have learned you. Can cope. It is possible. I’ve never had this but after university, holy wow. Did this just ever come about....
I really think it boils down to circumstances of stress... because from what I can understand, stress creates anxiety which creates OCD.
So keep yourself calm know that you will are in charge and will not do anything; because you do not have to believe everything your mind thinks.
Your brain can be rewired - by facing fears (whilst 'consciously' pretending to be calm) repeatedly. You have to (consciously) talk slowly and softly, whilst relaxing your body, whilst facing your fears, repeatedly. Repeatedly. Repeatedly. Repeatedly. Repeatedly. Repeatedly. Repeatedly.

Our daughter developed OCD and intrusive thoughts more as she learned things during school. What we learn we can become afraid of and it depends on the person. When you were a toddler you'd walk off the edge of a skyscraper because you weren't aware of the danger. As we mature, what we learn can affect certain people and cause anxiety. That "fear" of certain things eventually causes more anxiety and OCD becomes a way for the brain to try and cope with it. You must understand your fears and work with a therapist to uncover why you have anxiety. Then, the OCD goes away, but it takes time to retrain the way you think. GET HELP as soon as you can because life should be fun! Like he mentioned in this video, find someone understands anxiety/OCD and begin a program. You will have to know your fears and expose those fears and once you know those things will not harm you, the fears will fade and so will the OCD. OCD is basically a common learned behavior that became a conditioned way of life due to fears. You can do this! Conquer your fears and enjoy the world around you. When you were a child you were probably fearless. Find that again. :)

After going to therapy i realized that since my childhood and early teens i developed ocd, it just wasn't life altering, i though it was normal to be like this, when my dad passed and witnessing him leaving us i went into a deep depression that somehow made my ocd explode, at the time i did not know what was going on and believed everything my ocd told me, i was going crazy, considered ending my life because the thought's where so strong and horrible and i believed i was transforming into this monster so i just could not live with that. After reading a lot on the subject, listening to podcast and most important, going to therapy i feel much better but i still have a long way to go. I love my life, love my wife, pets, job,traveling, surfing, camping,etc and ME and YOU dont deserve this!!!. If you are reading this there is hope, hold on to your life and your freedom, we will get through. There is a line in a song called Brain Damage by Pink Floyd that says "there is someone in my head but its not me" it perfectly describes whats going on but remember its NOT YOU, calm down, let the thought's in, dont give a fuck about them, go to therapy, its hard, some times the anxiety will sky rocket, but its way worth it.
I stumbled across this video while researching something for myself and I am sitting here, jaw hanging slack, absolutely dumbfounded. Over the last 15 years or so I have been gradually losing my younger sister to a cluster of the most perplexing, upsetting, frustrating, hurtful, and bizarre set of behaviors and speech. I feel like she has gradually morphed into something completely unrecognizable from the happy, goofy kid I grew up with. This video just gave me hope that she is not completely lost. Oh my goodness. I can’t believe I never saw it before. It explains EVERYTHING. The grumpy, harsh, worrying, controlling/presumptuous behavior, bizarrely abnormal, religiously influenced stiff and rigid way of talking and thinking, germ, cleanliness, and health obsessions, difficulties with work, difficulties with her husband, myself, and our parents, difficulties making and keeping friends, actual health problems and pain, overthinking, worrying about EVERYTHING.... It’s plain as day to me now that my little sister has OCD. I have taken notes on the video and sent it to my mom and I trepidatiously await morning so that I can approach my sister. Thank you SO MUCH for this practical and clear presentation. I hope and pray that she is receptive. She has been suffering so badly for so long. Thank you again.

I’m really REALLY struggling with my ocd during this lockdown - more so than I ever remember before. The same thought keep whirling around in my head and has been for weeks - since lockdown started. I’ve ruminated, I’ve researched, I’ve analysed every freaking detail of it and then analysed it again until I’ve observed the thought from every conceivable angle. Then I’ll think of a NEW angle to analyse it from and it will start all over again. It’s driving me absolutely nuts and it won’t stop. I’m exhausted, and because I’m not working I have nothing to distract myself from the thought and it’s just there. All. The. Time. Then of course the compulsions and rituals arise, which tire me out even more. I’ve never been so tired in my entire life.

Thanks John I had OCD as an adolescent but was able to get therapy to help me deal with underlying anxieties and emotional conflict that was giving rise to it. I am now a psychotherapist that helps people with this disorder. You are definitely on the right track here. I saw a video recently that told people that there was nothing they could do to stop OCD thoughts and they just had to live with them and observe them. This was without giving them any advice about anxiety or emotional trauma that would be giving rise to the condition. I thought the video was traumatising. I'm glad your out there.

I appreciate having stumbled upon this. Having been socialised in religious/spiritual communities, I was taught that "my thoughts manifest my reality" without any real context on my obsessive thoughts reflecting underlying anxiety and unconscious patterns of behaviour. Telling my mind that it is the sole creator of my life resulted in me trying desperately to control my thoughts with other thoughts. It's been exhausting, and I'm grateful for this sort of insight.
Well - sad thoughts generate sad emotions and happy thought generate happy emotions, regardless of the truth of what is happening around you. However, anxious people need the world to be different so they feel good. Happy people have an attitude of happiness, optimism and trust. Did you watch videos 1, 2 and 3 in my youtube channel? What most people fail to recognise about the law of attraction are... Firstly, the level of consciousness of the person affects how much energy is available for them to collapse the waveform of potentiality into actuality. And secondly, the person needs to be at a corresponding consciousness for what they are asking for. It's no use asking for a confident and funny partner if you are an anxious and nervous person. The best person to explain this is Dr David R Hawkins and his map of consciousness, it is fascinating and explains so much! Best wishes. John

Baby steps 😅 but knowing, as you put it, that I am not my thoughts (as my thoughts themselves suggest), really puts me at ease. I had OCD from around age 16 making sure everything was turned off in my home when I leave because of the fear of a fire starting and the animals I own burning to death because of actions I didn't take to protect them. Recently I've developed pure o and have been having the most disturbing instrusive thoughts. Thoughts that went against my morals and made me feel depressed and eventually caused a mental breakdown. I've been meditating recently and learning to not believe every thought that occurs in my mind and only choose thoughts that empower me. Once you start living in the present moment life becomes alot clearer.

I’ve had a lot of therapy and I have learned a lot from this video!
I have had OCD since being a child and I struggle even after therapy - even with the ‘tools’.
Most people aren’t aware that OCD is about intrusive thoughts/compulsions - they assume you have to be cleaning a lot.
I do clean a lot - I always wondered why but it’s just been clarified.
I clean because it keeps my mind busy and therefore free from OCD (that’s the plan), and to take energy up (away from OCD), and lastly because I need (or the OCD does) order.
The question I’ve always had is - why do I have OCD?
I guess it’s different for most people but there must be a general reason. I have a narcissistic mother who has made my life hell and still tries to even though I’m 49, I think this is my reason. I had an unhappy childhood full of anxiety and stress and fear.
I also suffer badly with chronic pain, caused by a dentist 10 years ago and subsequently have fibromyalgia. Any kind of emotional stress makes the pain worse yet I can’t stop the OCD.

I didn’t explain - the dentist damaged my jaw, I have a bad case of tmj - extreme head pain, even talking starts it off. The doctors explained that being in severe pain, my brain re-wired itself hence fibromyalgia.
I also have migraine, they’re hell but this head pain leaves them standing and at least they go with the prescriptions.
That aside, I believe and agree with all you say, I think I could somehow help ease the pain - stress makes it worse, but nothing magical happens when I’m calm!!

I think fibromyalgia will be detected at some point - diabetes wasn’t detected in Victorian times for example, and fibro was called rheumatism for a long time.

Psychedelic is the answer to most severe anxiety and depression...The use of magic mushrooms completely helps one get over depression and makes you feel like yourself...I used antidepressants for some years but it only made me feel like a zombie but with immediate use of mushroom 🍄 in few months I feel like I'm living a whole new Life.

I have G.A.D ( Generalized ANXIETY Disorder ) I would rather go out than stay home ,. I talk to people ,have coffee ,ect. Getting out of the house actually relieves my ANXIETY, because I'm not constantly thinking...
For a few the role is reversed - normally if at home it is very lonely or abusive / critical in some way.

Thanks, Barbara, although I am not making a video on responsibility OCD (because this is a symptom) my patreon video course does teach you how to work on the causes, which in your case is probably guilt.
Well, guilt is a huge topic. Basically, it is the difference between what you do (or think) compared with what you think (or were trained to think) you "ought" to do in any moment. Then you beat yourself up for not doing what you think you "ought" to do! Which is basically self-abuse because nobody is making that comparison except yourself. Plus, when you are doing the beat yourself up guilt trip, the thing you did (or didn't do) has already been done. So, really it is a self-abusive waste of time trying to live up to somebody else's expectation of who you "ought" to be. It's exhausting and leads nowhere - except anxiety and depression.
A better question to ponder is.... Which part of you is beating up which another part of you? And the answer is, your inner judge is beating up your inner victim, then your inner pleaser is trying to make everyone happy, which makes your inner rebel really angry - and so it goes on automatically within your subconscious mind until you can see that you are doing this to yourself without releasing!
The path to freedom is radical honesty (or silence) and not being horrible to yourself. Winston Churchill famously said "What anyone else thinks of me is none of my business...!" If your friend looks fat, tell her or be silent - but don't lie!
If a friend asks you if you are OK (and you are not), say you are not, its just the truth. But if you lie she will think you are OK and then you might be angry that she can't see you are unhappy - but you told her you were OK!!!!
I teach people ways to understand themselves and others - so they can find more calmness inside.
Much of this was all installed within our brain during childhood - but it can be changed if you put some effort in. John
See the overwhelm as a good thing, like stuck trauma finally being released from the cells of your body after all these years, don't resist your emotions - let them come up. John

You just have to belive and have faith that once again you’ll be alright brothers and sisters. Its not easy, its by far the hardest thing i have had to deal with my whole life. Try your best not to engage in the thoughts or analyze what your mind is ”trying to telling you”, they’re are all just lies fueld with fear. Some people probably experience the same things without even knowing or they might even notice but just dont care enough to bother engaging in it. But you’re aware and you have good heart. You just live in a world full of weak minded people. Not the ones who suffer, but the ones who choose to follow evil. No matter how real the situation gets, it cant hurt you. And Even tho it feels like it gets worse every time, it will get better, i promise. The relief will be much greater and You will experience life like you never have before. Just have faith that one day You Will find yourself looking back at this time in your life, and you will be at ease. Keep moving forward and never give up, one day you will be taken care of and you will be rewarded for your patience 💛🙏💛🤲

Books and friends helped me get out of it.
Plus I used to do this when experiencing ocd:
Ask yourself that what would happen if you didn't respond to this disease( whichever ocd it is). That, would something really bad happen to you? Now pull up yourself and don't do the ocd activity.
See? You won't die even if you don't
It will take time to get over like this but it worked for me. I hope it does for you too.

My personal experience tells me that you CAN ABSOLUTELy get over OCD. I expereinced it for 3 years. After that I lived the best 3 years of my whole life. However, after a very stressful year, and breaking up with my girlfriend (well, ex girlfriend), I have relapsed, and as the video says at the end, OCD makes you doubt EVERYTHING, and it will make you doubt about even the things you love the most... At first I experienced fear of being gay (when I was 17)... Now, I am obsessed with my past... The possitive part of this relapse is that I am getting to know myself even more and more. I am doubting things that, of course, are stupid... But my problem has been that my therapists don't adress my anxiety, they refuse to give me medication, which I think is very important: in my case, if there's no anxiety, there are fewer chances for me to start the process of thinking and thinking and thinking. I don't have physical compulsions, they are just mental, cheking if what I remember is actually true. I am obsessed with whether I really loved my ex-gf... And makes me suffer so much. However I want to tell you (and myself) that you can get over this, and when you get over it you will enjoy life more than other people, you will find the value of little thigns, trust me, YOU WILL GET OVER IT, AND IT WILL BE AMAZING!

My brain is constantly flooded with negative thoughts... If I'll not touch the switch then maybe the electrical appliance will catch fire... I'm constantly worrying about my loved one's life... Classic OCD negative thinking. This scenario usually has associated perspectives such as, feeling excessive responsibility, low self-esteem and co-dependency. Rather than working on the OCD (which is a symptom) you need to be working on those other aspects of your personality if you want real change in your life. John

I have struggled with OCD for 54 years, it used to come and go, blinking of my eyes is what I do, from a trauma when I was 5 years old.
Now at 59, it just seems to be getting worse.

A little over a year ago, (September 20th to be exact,) I had a thought that came to my mind. I was recently going to an event that I went to every year, but the last year was different. I stayed home for a full week, because I was making myself sick from stress, not sleeping much, etc. I was going to ask my mom if it would happen again, because I am a worrier. Asking my mom and having her tell me I wouldn’t, would help me feel less stressed. I never asked her, because I just told myself that I wouldn’t. I kept on thinking about this thing, but not too often. Until I realized, I was getting this weird feeling in my head. If you have OCD, I’m sure you know what I mean. It feels like a large cluster of horribleness, thoughts. The only time you don’t have obsessive thoughts is when you sleep. Your fear may still be in ur dream, but you don’t really think about it while you are asleep. As soon as I wake up, I’ll be lucky if I get 1 hour of no my obsessive fear. Then it just comes to my head immediately. When I get a few days of no obsessive thoughts, or just think about my fear slightly, I feel amazing.
Now, about quarantine. I don’t know about you, but I am still in school, and my parents are really concerned, and want to make sure I’m okay, as they should. No one where I live really cares about it, and I am one of the very few kids in my class who are online. (We have a choice to be online or not.) Anyway, quarantine has made my OCD SO bad, and I fear to talk to someone about it. I’ve told my best friend about this, but I am scared to confess my fear. The thing I fear now is completely different than the the fear I once did fear.
The one thing that makes me happy, is my friends. Especially my best friend. I trust her with my life. I can’t co one day without talking to her. She is like a sister to me. I miss her so much, even though I talk to her everyday. It is different than seeing her in person, especially if you are used to hanging out everyday, to never hanging out again.
This summer, I missed something that made me so upset. Now, just for some information, I go to this Bible camp, with my two best friends in The whole wide word. I begged my mom EVERYDAY that I could go, but of course, I couldn’t. Both of my friends got to go, and I can’t deal w being left out very well. I cried A LOT about not being able to go. Right before camp, I dreamed that I went to camp w my friends, but when I woke, I realized it was just a dream. I started to instantly cry, which had never happened to me before. My thoughts make my fears come to reality. Just like how you can make your mind make us sick if we think we are. Our human brains are powerful! Even to the point where it can be a little too powerful. I also, loved to go to my local Youth Group, which was very sad to me when I couldn’t go anymore because of COVID-19. God is a big part of my life, and so are my friends and family. I have a great relationship w my family, but I feel that I am easily open more to my friends, probably bec they can relate to me more, and are the same age as me, because I am the youngest in my family, and my youngest sibling is 6 1/2 years older than me. God and my friends keep me happiest. I just know he is helping and trying to get me through this!

I want to just be happy and get pleasure in living a normal life with everyday basic things. My mind is constantly processing a thought and it’s been over 12 years now I am 30 and literally sick and tired of this. I end up wasting my time by distracting myself with UA-cam videos instead of doing something thoughtful.
I checked that low level of Testosterone and vitamin D deficiency can give you symptoms like OCD

Luke, walk for 45 minutes a day ,don't run ,jog in the start. Just walk(45 minutes and cycle (15 minutes ) ,if yiu don't have have cycle don't worry but just walk for 45 minutes and slowly increase 5 minutes a day

This video made me cry..so many of my questions were answered that I have been asking myself for years. Why am I like this? Why am I so controlling? Why do I get angry at X reason? Etc. When I was diagnosed with OCD I felt some sort of relief to know that there was a reason behind my irregular and frustrating behavior. That I’m not the only one that goes through this. I always thought OCD was just a fear of germs and a constant need to be clean. But it’s so much more than that and it’s not an easy thing to deal with. I’ve been passed around from provider to provider and I gave up on therapists because I was spending so much money on telling someone I’m “doing better than last week”. For some crazy reason I feel like I don’t want to get rid of my OCD (because I feel like I HAVE to always go through with my compulsions..although extremely annoying and frustrating), this video helped me more than my visits and I feel that I will do better in the future. Thank you.

This answers so many of my questions and it’s a huge relief as I feel fucked up.The compulsion list hit me mainly the fear of harming others and fear of being gay i know for a fact I’m not gay I feel no arousal from the same sex as me but it’s always in my head and the harming others scares me so much

I think OCD is OK if you focus your obsessions on things that improve your life - I am obsessive about my work, but in a way that frees me.
I'm kind of exhausted of normal people trying to protect the feelings of the mentally ill by saying "oh it's not a disorder its just different", it's a disorder because your brain isnt working the way it should be and it causes you immense discomfort. I'd love to see some healthy guy try out having OCD for a day and then seeing if he still doesnt think it's a disorder.
I had OCD and depression and thought it was a disorder, I was wrong, it is a condition. Until people wake up to this they will always be in a victim perspective and something outside of you will need to be added to fix you! This video made me feel so much better about some things that I experience in my daily life. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was 8 (almost 12 years ago), and although I had a good idea of what having OCD entails, I had no idea that some of my seemingly random (and infuriating) habits could possibly be caused by my OCD. When he said that some people with OCD can be very controlling of other people close to them because they need things to be a certain way, it clicked for me. I feel like I am constantly unsatisfied with the way my partner carries out certain tasks like cleaning, organizing, remembering to do things, etc. I always have to ask him if he did something a certain way if he remembered to do something, or I just end up doing the task for him or redoing it to avoid the anxiety it brings. This makes him feel upset and makes me feel upset too because I cannot help that I need things done a certain way and he feels like when he does things "it's not good enough". I feel guilty a lot and lately, I just do things myself instead of asking him to do things. I never knew that this could possibly be because of my OCD.

Well I used to have OCD what really helped me was God and Christ because I used to tick alot because I was afraid anything could happen to my family but then I noticed that moving something 3 times won't help cause God controls everything with purpose not because in move something 3 times so yeah you guys should think about this :)

I had ocd, along with anxiety and depression for years and found that cutting out sugar from my diet (sugar is an inflammatory that feeds your brain the wrong stuff) and taking an anti-inflammatory like curamed every day helps a lot. Not giving medical advice, just saying what worked for me. I still have relapses here and there, but not nearly as intense or long. I'm much better now. My ocd, anxiety and depression was caused by severe childhood trauma.
Yes sugar reduction is good - I think lots of anxiety, is in fact, hypoglycaemia based. But the OCD probably needs addressing by processing that childhood trauma. My course teaches how to do that. Best wishes John
What i have noticed more with ocd is that, it can create "puzzles" that have no logic and make no sense, and you feel as if you solve it, then you will feel better or make the anxiety or uncomfortable thoughts go away, for me I have noticed I no longer have anxiety, but my mind still creates these loops, with no real solution, so no matter what you do or say, it will give you a different disturbing thought, making you feel annoyed, inconvenienced, and confused. I finally got tired of wasting so much time trying to think my way out, or come up with a solution, so I simply practice what john teaches, and that is to not give the thoughts any meaning! This seems to be more difficult at first, but eventually when you get the hang of it, starts to get easier to dismiss them!

haha agree. And ocd are of many types.
If you walk for 45 minutes for 3 months ,this will go . I felt calmer in just 3 days and then everyday you are better and better , half of the disease will go off in a month of consistent effort , just walk and cut completely on sugar ( our body doesn't need sugar ,it creates it from food , insulin changes body harmonal order )
