This was my first Flaming Lips song back at age 5. As much as I love this song, It's hard not to imagine a flying establishing shot of Edward Nigma's studio apartment...
Tuwonwon Ikr lol
It’s such an innocent scene, even if you knew Edward snapped.
That's the first scene I think of when I think of this song. I can't unsee it.
he even had a neon cross word puzzle sign by his window, this man was destined to snap
Exactly, Batman forever. Defines my childhood
"You hate your boss at your job,
But in your dreams you can blow his head off"
I love that line lol
In your dreams show no mercy!
Yet Edward did something much worse to Stickley in Batman Forever.
I really hated my boss...
@@agustinibarrola8614 I can relate.
So inappropriate these days but o I love it too
You really tend to understand the lyrics to songs when you’ve grown older.
We all hate our bosses, we all have bad days, and we all want to have it our way. I think that’s the beauty of this song; it speaks about depression in such a realistic way.
"Fred...BAAAABE you are fired!! Or shall I say...terminated."
Good form but a little rough on the landing.
He may have to settle for the bronze.
Questions Mr Wayne. My work raises too many questions? Why hasn't anybody put you in your place?
hahaha
best movie made!!
Why are you the one to have it all and not me?
Shout out to all them Batman fans on here
And Rest In Peace to Joel Schumacher. We miss him.
Batman Forever. The greatest of the Batmans.
a man after my own heart
Started as a kid... glad there's more or there🖤
@@RasputinJones Jim Carey, Val Kilmer, and Tommy Lee Jones. Name a more perfect trio for a 90’s kid.
Maybe if you tossed Adam Sandler in there.
My sister always tells me: 'It's impossible to be sad if we listen to The Flaming Lips'. She's right :)
+María Florencia Cardozo I Get sad whenever I listen to anything they've done after At War With the Mystics. Tragic how they crawled up their own backsides and went all "scary" and just stopped writing tunes.
Your sister is fucking right.
Been one of my go to bands for 25+yrs!
Thank the cosmos for The Flaming Lips!!
Actually there's songs I listen from them when I am sad and I'm GLAD FOR THAT. Love the Flaming Lips
im listening and it's making me sad
Put on the terror album and you may feel differently
Being a kid watching Batman and loving Nigma. When this song comes on in his apt i would always say "I want an apt like his" & "I love this song". As a kid, little did I know as an adult how much more I'd need this song in my everyday life. Helps me get through my days. I'm 31 now. Makes all the sense now loving this song as a kid subconsciously knowing I'd need it forever. 💚 Love u guys!!! #stayingasleeplatekuzyousaid 😁
The Flaming Lips brought me here.
This song is great. Happy sounding but sadistic.
Yes. Exactly.
Is it just me, or could I just listen to those two jangly guitar runs in the intro over and over and over? Something so soothing about it that sets the tone for the entire song. Reminds me of night time and city lights.
When you add in the xylophone it reminds me of Beach Boys
Fun fact for anyone else here because of Batman Forever; this was one of Joel Schumacher's favorite songs.
The film actually had a good soundtrack. The dear and departed man had good taste.
@@pk1645 He definetly had a good soundtrack for both of his Batman films.
I’ve always liked this song but after living a bit of a rough life in my twenties and finally coming out of the other side of that I can honestly say I love this song even more. This video fills my heart with joy. Love you guys
Im actuallyvin my late twenties still fuckin craving howd u get better
@@brendendavis8596 found a steady line of work that pays enough, started doing yoga, and just generally doing my best to build better habits
been there know what u mean
You’re telling me.
This song was great hearing it in Batman Forever. It fit really well with Edward Nigma and his whole job situation.
Clouds Taste Metallic is such a masterpiece. My favorite Lips record.
This song always takes me back to a place I’ve never been ...
I love this song, I've been having bad days consecutively really for about a month now. This song makes me feel better.
:)
All I can hear is that riddler bobble head's laugh.
I would definitely move to The Riddler's apartment. It feels so warm and comfortable to live in. I think of a restaurant like Chili's or Applebees and a small arcade area. 😎😏😏😴😴
Yeah.
Lmao!
"what was once red is black instead..."
The Riddler invented Funko Pops!
it took me 19 long years to find this song lol. batman forever
It's on the Batman Forever soundtrack.
My sister bought me the Batman Forever VHS for Christmas when it was new. At 11yrs old, I knew I dug this song but never knew who it was or consciously sought it out. Years later I started listening to The Flaming Lips. I had already heard the Yoshimi album, but it wasn't until the final track on Clouds Taste Metallic, my childhood came rushing back and I suddenly knew I was fan.
BRO SAME. FUCKING 19
Not an internet user, huh?
I was watching it on my lunch break and had to look up the song.
Such a Brian Wilson Pet Sounds influence.
I felt just the same
Sloop John Bad Days
Definitely
Wayne, congratulations on your success. You rode out all trials and tribulations. You fucking survived everyone. Good for you man. Keep it up. I witnessed one of our shows. It was the greatest birthday party that i never attended. Haha! You inspire. Keep it up.
The Puzzler? (buzzer)
The Gamester? (buzzer)
Captain Kill? (buzzer)
Question Mark Man?
(ding ding ding) No! No! No!
(dummy laughs)
Oh thank you! Thank you so much! hehehehehehehe
“The bat’s stubborn refusal to expire… IT’S DRIVING US INSANE!”
@@onlyone23km❤❤❤
That made me giggled when Nigma was trying to reject the Question Mark man name and he went with it😂
@@Sparda937 and to think it’s been 28 years of Batman Forever and the director’s gone.
Still have the frames of those bikes That I built for this video. My leg even made it in a shot. Fun times filming that day. Strange life it has been.....
really? cool
$hit man that's awesome! You should write more about your involvement!
I feel like it would destroy his illusion
What are you doing now man? This song is really important to me reminds me of a really cool time in my life
Well haulright!!!!
I never knew there was a video for this song and yes I had the Batman Forever soundtrack as a kid. It's still a great song!!!!
Back wen life was simple and fun
well you know, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.
Batman brought me here. Anyone else?
Me too lol
No. Just. No.
In what context could this ever be appropriate for Batman?
Same
Yes! I heard this and immediately had to come find the song
Steven drum playing is amazing as always!!
This song is pure gold. Batman forever
Man... This song is like... It makes me want to cry, but it stops me from crying. AT THE SAME DAMN TIME...
Clouds Taste Metallic is such a brilliant album!!! 😀
Fred... YOU'RE FIRED... OR SHOULD I SAY, TERMINATED!!!
Ive never done acid before, This is the first thing i'm watching
Hilarious for some reason.
The best thing about Batman Forever....This Song 🦇
The Batman Forever soundtrack made me an Lips fan at 8yrs old.
Batman Forever brought me here! That is my #1 favorite cd of all time! This is one of the best songs on it.
The good old days. Those bikes are rad too
Needed to hear this song in 2021.
I am not dead, i am a dad today! So happy about and to be.
Thanks!
You are welcome!
BATMAN FOREVER IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER CREATED!! EDWARD AND HARVEY ARE ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!
This song is fire
took me a long time but eventually i found this song.....dam man drums on a bed? thats what i call banging on the bed.
Why isn't THIS featured in the Batman: The Ride queue at Six Flags Great America? I love this song!
Edward Nygma ;)
the first two verses of this song are FIRE
Edward Nigmas kick ass apartment
As a kid this song was funny. It hits a whole lot differently 20 years later.
One of my favorite songs off of the Batman Forever soundtrack
The Riddler sent me here to get inspiration to make my apartment as lit as his.
What a wonderful way to take out your "frustrations with your humdrum existence"
No guns, no road rage, no hate
Jumpin on beds playin a toy piano and, riding bikes with sissy bars n banana seats
Yep
TY to the Batman Forever soundtrack for introducing me to The Flaming Lips lol
This is what 42 year old me would tell 16 year old me. Love the song and the video.
This song is AMAZING Thank you!!!!
Riddle me this?! What song kicks a lot of ass? Answer: this fucking one.
Lol
I love the drums falling over again and again
Damn I love this band 💯 💗
Just wish I believed that my bad days will end
I've really been feeling this dream these last couple months.
I wish the bad days would end... nothing seems to get better.
I *love* this Batman. It's my favourite. Tim Burton made it like a dark version of the old tv show. Love.
I thought it was good that they didn't focus on Harvey Dent too much in this one because it would be too much to focus on if they brought in Two Face. But I liked that they had him briefly to give more realism to it being Gotham.
Batman Forever was directed by Joel Schumacher
To OP.
Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were *Joel Schumacher's* , Tim Burton had absolutely nothing to do with them.
@@McLarenMercedes WRONG AF!!! Tim Burton was the producer for Batman Forever.
@@jwhite1016aolNo, not “wrong AF”. The role of “producer” in film is an extremely broad title. It can be someone who co-financed the film, a studio executive, or the sole creative force behind the project.
Sometimes a producer may have complete control of a project, and other times have none.
In Burton’s case for Batman Forever, he was named as a “producer”, as basically a ‘Thank You + Severance Pay’ because the studio did not want him back after Batman Returns caused some controversy with parents. Tim Burton had exactly ZERO creative influence on Batman Forever. This is a verifiable FACT.
You were supposed to understand............I'll make YOU UNDERSTAND!!!
I dedicate this song to everyone who has been struggling in middle of this pandemic situation
The RONA Brought Me Here 😷😎
Riddler made me come here.. 😂

In my dreams, in my dreams I see light all the time. 🌞💛✨
Always banging drums are a good timings in the morning so shiney
"EHEHEHEHEEHEHEHEH!"
"Guess what I did today?"
"Wayne Manor... HM!......... See you soon!"
First verse of this song is the best I have it in repeat 100 times
This song will always stay close to my life
i always love this from the Batman Forever OST.. really good 90's inde tune x
Makes me proud to be from Oklahoma
No, this doesn't sound at ALL like the Beach Boys. *rolls eyes* Freaking amazing tune.
It's like a Kurt Kobain, John Bonham, and Brian Wilson love child. Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks Edward Nigma for showing me this song. Now riddle me this. When does Christmas come before Thanksgiving?
The song I listen to while going to work :)
Still some of the best advice I've ever received.
" Fred, babe! You are fired! Or should I say, terminated ! "
"SURF'S UP, BIG KAHOONA!!!" *splash!* "Ooh, nice form, but a little rough on the landing. He may have to settle for the bronze! Hahahahaha!!!"
Questions, Mr. Wayne? My work raises too many questions? Why hasn't anybody put you in your place?
Loved this song BEFORE Hollywood mainstreamed it.
High school in the early 90s... That was the greatest time to be a teenager in all of history.
you might be right
Fuck yes
It just hit me: in the beginning of the video, when they hang the receivers over the lamps by the cords so they won’t get interrupted in the morning when they sleep in; there are people who have been born now that won’t get that reference, and have no clue of the practice...
Imagine we get a similar Batman Forever riddler scene in the 2022 Batman movie and it plays this song🔥🔥🔥 itll be more darker and creepier
I used to sing this to my little bros when they were babies always calmed them down
Always been a fan. Love this song.
Best track on that soundtrack
Christ, look how young he is in this. I've probably seen Ryan Adams live more than any other band or person. The last time was when he was doing the acoustic solo tour. It was awesome because he rarely did anything acoustic with the band, even the songs that were acoustic on the studio
albums.
Good song. Perfect for The Riddler.
The two kids are a more iconic duo than batman and robin
Batman Forever brought me here.
+Justin Keener same lol
me too.
Same
same
Same here! I always wondered who sang this song, now I know.
WOW!
My Dads Song R.I.P
first part of song is very beautiful wish they made more songs like this.
Who's listening in 2024? You're awesome!
Sloop John B with John Bonham on drums. Great song!
Thanks for posting these!
Very Beach Boys-esque track. I dig it.
There's something so much fun about chirpy, up-beat songs with dark lyrics 😁
U guys are awesome here in 2022, loads of memories for me growing up I'm now 54
Ronald Playing on CTM is my favorite guitar work ever. Seriously, Tied with Hendrix
New trailer for Baskets~ with Anderson and Galifianakis was playing this and it took me two days to remember who did it, let alone the name! - Great tune btw, and thanks for publishing it!
Stuck in my head since I was like 12
Batman!? Batman you say? Coming for you?!? Hoo Hoo hoo! Brrr brrr Im COUNTING ON IT!
Just got done rewatching Batman forever...again lol so now I'm searching this banger
