The drums full of life and dance, the strings yearn for younger days and release emotions you didn’t know needed therapy. The simple lyrics are stretched as well as embellished by Wayne’s own painful and longing expression of voice. I love their melancholy tracks they do it so well.

@@shruggzdastr8-facedclown Wayne screwed around with the internals of a keyboard to effectively detune it, which is what creates the distinct sound for the strings on the record. Most piano parts however were recorded on the piano of the drummer steven drozd

This song came out when my kids were 3 and 6 years old. I always told my kids stories to go with every song I played. I told my kids this was a true story. The sun was too close to the earth back in 1978. Everyone was scared and sad. But two great scientists didn’t give up. They tried and tried. They knew it was an impossible goal. They wanted to hold their children and wives, but they sacrificed all their own joys for the sake of humanity and eventually they saved us all. They pushed back the sun. My kids thought this really happened until my daughter was in fourth grade. She told her entire class the story. She thought it was true and was shocked the teacher had never heard the story. She even played the song for the teacher. When she came home from school she asked me why I lied to her. I told her that it was a story. She said she wished it was true.

    One, two, one!
    Two scientists are racing
For the good of all mankind
    Both of them side-by-side
    So determined
    Locked in heated battle
For the cure that is their prize
    But it's so dangerous
    But they're determined
    Theirs is to win
    If it kills them
    They're just humans
    With wives and children
    Upwards to the vanguard
Where the pressure is too high
    Under the microscope
    Hope against hope
    Forging for the future
    But to sacrifice their lives
    Both of them side-by-side
    So determined
    Theirs is to win
    If it kills them
    They're just humans
