these guys are Russian and this song is actually about the Ukraine war, the chorus goes "Do you understand that we have the same blood? you notice that i am from the same flesh? do you understand that, we have the same home? you notice that we sow discord we sow death." its actually a really really heavy song in more ways then one
Love this song, Alex is such a beast with his vocals and seems so badass on stage but he is really a teddy bear. Check Demolisher or Baba Yaga from them as well.
9:25 the talent to be able to sing/scream like that (a lot of bands have a singer who can scream and sing very well), the instrumental talent, the complexity, and the fact that a lot of metal bands have very good deep lyrics
Great reaction guys . I think this young lady may become a metal head (the smile, the admiration, even a little stank face, lol) how you guys get into metal it's a very cathartic genre
Alex Terrible, is a very brave Russian native from Yekaterinburg (in the Urals), and one of those who most clearly has spoken out against War and dictatorship. Thus he now lives abroad as a political refugee. My highest respect to this man for both his character as well as his insane vocal skills! 🤘😎 He's a guy with quite an interesting background. If you google his name, you can find a really good article about him from the Magazine "Revolver".
Hell yes! Alex is awesome! He has some very fun covers on his own channel, Chandelier, Old Town Road to name two of them. Russian machine with a great sense of humour! :)
I don´t know why, but your faces looking that video are exactly the same that people make, when I show them what kind of music I listen to in order to relax. Crazy. Jokes aside, Slaughter to Prevail is just massive. I took our 6 year old son to 2 concerts this year, one was TOOL...awesome! And the other was Slaughter to Prevail. Good edjucation starts early. And we had an absolute blast of a father and son nigth.
Like any genre of music there are loads of different elements that people look out for in the metal songs they like, and it changes depending on the sub-genre you're within because metal has loads of them that all have very different vibes. This band lean towards nu-metal/deathcore and focus on powerful, groovy rhythms or beats with really heavy vocals over the top. There are genres and bands that lean away from the rhythms and more into melody or technicality and there are bands that inforporate lots of electronic sounds or bands that just want to make things sound as rediculously brutal as possible. As rap/hiphop fans I think you'd probably get on the best with genres like nu-metal and metalcore as they encorporate a lot of the same core elements as hiphop. I'll throw a couple of suggestions below (taking into consideration that you asked for slightly less scary stuff), I really enjoyed your take on this and it was great to see you react to my favourite genre for the first time :) I would defo watch more if you posted it: Female fronted metal band with amazing vocals and great beats: Spiritbox - Jaded Great lyrics, vocals and very pop/hiphop ispired Sleep Token - Granite Silent Planet - Antimatter Bands with a fun different take on metal/metalcore music: Bilmuri - Better Hell Electic Callboy - We got the moves / Hypa Hypa I reckon all of these will be hits, but explore as you like, you will find lots of great new music here 8^)
When i first properly got into metal about 5 years ago i listened to it for the music and not the vocals but over the space of a couple months the screaming really grew on me. The band that got me into metal was bullet for my valentine so would be really cool if you could react to one of their songs
I love you are reacting for this song but from this performence not official audio. I love original release but sometimes I prefer this show because of Alex smashing his mic on his head really hard!
@@DoubleTakeJC No wonder! You should react to their new song Behelit. The music video wil be out in few hours on Alex Terrible yt channel, but its been already out on streaming platforms. This song is very catchy!
Hey guys, you should check out the same song but with the add on ''Live in Oberhausen, Germany'', sound is much better and the performance will blow you away I swear.
Love the videos guys! Especially the ren reactions and the Geoff Castelucci one. Would really love to see you guys react to Lawrence and their acoustic(ish) version of Whatcha want. Im sure you guys will love it. Keep it up!
Go check out the video of him wrestling his pet Bear and then feeding his lion with raw chicken in his mouth. And he walks his pet aligator as well. Alexx is a beast 🤘🤘
If you guys are interested in his vocals, you can check out his one take live vocal of this song, it's on his channel and it's just him in the room on the mic, you'll be able to hear his voice clearly and up close. Also if you're interested in some more lighthearted stuff from him you can check out his vocal covers for Barbie Girl by Aqua and All I want for Christmas is you by Mariah Carey, both on his channel :)
Metal is a musicians music so most people who listen to it are typically musicians in some capacity. Things to look out for are drums like you highlighted, guitar work, syncopation and the way the song flows (tempo or key changes for example). Often times, it's not how fast they are playing but what they are not playing that really creates tension and hypes that song. Hope that helps!
You jumped in at the deep end on this one, good on you. Contrary to popular belief Metal is not all about aggression, if you dig deeper then many of the songs are about the human condition, what makes us human, how to over come mental battles and how to be yourself and accept it. I you have seen Knox Hill channel he found the lyricism in metal is equal to that he found in rap. However, there are many bands that also have songs relating to history, poetry, nature, ecology. Metal is diverse, you have tasted Linkin Park and Sleep token who some would regard as at the more mainstream/poppy end, Slaughter to prevail is towards the heavier end but there is something for everyone. Reaction favourites are Jinjer and Spiritbox for female vocals, you could try out some Tesseract (legion) or Periphery for a sub genre call Djent, go technical with Archspire and Meshuggah, progressive with weird key and time signatures with Tool (also has Lyrics linked to psychology and philospohy), Opeth and Gojira (French eco metal, you may have seen them on the Olympics opening ceremony), symphonic with Nightwish and Unleash the Archers, you can go to the start of it all with Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Iron Maiden who all influenced modern metal, then there is the big four Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax and Megadeth. Heavier than Slaughter to Prevail - doesn’t get much heavier than the Lorna shore - Pain Remain Trilogy both in sound and content, do watch the three parts back to back and the official video. Also worth noting, it is OK to pull up the lyrics for the songs, the harsh vocals should be seen as just another instrument. Anyway, enough blathering, thanks for the reactions, keep it up and hope you dig deeper into Metal.
Awesome! Alex is a demon. If you would like to hear a different kind of metal that´s more melodic and really beautiful and brutal in turn you might check out Arch Enemy. Handshake with Hell would be a good one to start with. See you in your next the Warning reaction!
The Kid of Darkness official MV is fantastic (he has the head wound from that mic lol). I'm not usually a fan of metalcore but K.O.D has stuck with me. Alex and the band are Russian.
He did some parts without microphone. That was why he called silence. and yes russian who lives in usa now. He isn't fluent in english but who cares. Drummer is phenomenal...even better than alex.
The part is he isn't even our best. He is absolutely among the very best. If I made a Top 3 for this style of vocals.... Phil Bozeman(Whitechapel) Will Ramos(Lorna Shore) Alex Terrible(Slaughter to Prevail) And not even rating them in that order either, they are imo the 3 best at the game. But Phil is the absolute GOAT.

They have another song about it too, 1984. The chorus goes ”Please stop the violence, please stop the bloodshed on earth“
He is a beast! Wrestles with his pet bear growls like a demon and seems to be the nicest human being.
Fights bareknuckle too
@@DannyFR30 Yep just won his pro debut. I think two or 3 weeks ago.
Whoever suggested this really threw the two of you into the deep end 😂Thanks for being good sports and still being able to appreciate it!
Love this song, Alex is such a beast with his vocals and seems so badass on stage but he is really a teddy bear. Check Demolisher or Baba Yaga from them as well.
Added to the list!
Alex is a beast. Yes he hit himself and bled everywhere.
Her little voice saying "hello" at the start, then Alex being a bear was such a funny contrast 😂
Was not prepared at all😆

He is fucking RUSSIAN!!!
alex is such a nice person, i just feel invincible when i listen to his music haha

Oh sweet I’ve seen all your Ren reactions so I’m here for this. Definitely need to do Demolisher for this band.

I've seen slaughter to prevail live six times 4 times in Russia and twice in the us they put on a great show
Hell yes! Alex is awesome! He has some very fun covers on his own channel, Chandelier, Old Town Road to name two of them.
Russian machine with a great sense of humour! :)
Next up Kid of Darkness. Then Lorna Shore Sun//Eater

Female fronted metal band with amazing vocals and great beats:

Great lyrics, vocals and very pop/hiphop ispired
Sleep Token - Granite
Silent Planet - Antimatter
Bands with a fun different take on metal/metalcore music:
Bilmuri - Better Hell
Electic Callboy - We got the moves / Hypa Hypa

Amazing. Alex is incredible but so is the whole band. I wish you would've watched the music video first to get a real appreciation of his vocals!
Been thinking about live streaming over on twitch! Listening to different versions of other songs too!
from Florida his growl was like a Gator growl
Finally someone reacting to the live version from inkcarceration festival, absolutely the best version
