God bless you sir.i like your videos .Love you from Zimbabwe
Good Job, i learn a lot of things from You. Thanks and likes from Turkiye
Bagimli oldum
What is really nice is the time he takes. Doesn't drone on and on with interlaced swearing and how stupid other people are blah blah blah. He acknowledges the problem, finds the issue and boom fixed. The End. A pleasure watching.
He actually complains though, especially if the customer was not honest on the previous repair. He also charges a fee for just looking at it.
I wanna know who would dislike a great video like this, you're a pro sir.
Apple
Excellent job men!
Its youtube bot dislike, pretty common for all yt videos, yt algo doesnt want all the way positive review lol
One of the best channels on UA-cam :)
I've seen a few with the same coil problem.
But I have a 10.5 Pro here boot looping but all coils look perfect.
Always a pleasure to watch you at work 😎

Hello Sir.....just love watching the way you work. Very therapeutic. I am a retired electronic man. Managed to repair a couple of laptop with minor problem. I want to attempt to repair my iPad A1709 with a similar reboot issue. Please send me a link to one of your videos where you demonstrate how to open the face with a hotair gun. Will really appreciate. I've learnt a lot from watching your videos. You are very immaculate in your work. Bless you.
i know it is a old Video but i see ist today. Very Nice Work , i know difficult it is to Work betwen so small components. In Germany we say:"Hut ab"
Thank you to learn us and share with us your knowledge..great man from great culture...
Really nice video! My ipad 2018 started rebooting randomly for some time and sometimes going back to normal for a few minutes, hours, then starting again and now it's constantly rebooting for 3 days, iTunes restore doesn't work. Does it sound like a hardware issue?
Amazing salute to you bro
From philippines

Hello Sir, would you have used solder paste in such tight spaces? I am always a fan of your work
Hi,to you its like a child play but in reality its harder..thank you for sharing your awesome videos with us...😃😃😃
wow the bigger inductor works in place of the smaller 1 i see, good to know. great vid thanks 😀
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!! Wich temperature you use to put back the coil ?
3:00 what type of damage the donor board you usually use for fixing other ipads ? Why you did not fix the donor board it self ?
I have a 2017 iPad Pro 2nd gen 12.9 screen and same scenario. An update 2 months ago borked my ipad. I've taken it to Apple Store, BestBuy, CPR (CellPhoneRepair) and Asurion repair place here in northern Illinois and nobody will do this work. Apple & BestBuy wanted me to buy a new device. Basically I have an expensive paperweight now. Really enjoy your videos sir. Would you work on my ipad and do a video?
7:10 we spilled ? naah fam u did it xDDDD
Hi how would you determine the specs of coil. Circuit diagrams? Or with multimeter
Nice repair. Looked a bit tricky. No substitute for experience!
Another awesome job! Congratulations
Tempted to send my device to this dude. I have the same issue and struggling to find anyone in the UK to do it!
Hi @tomhstorey
I live in the UK and have the same issue with my 10.5 inch ipad pro.
Did you managed to get that fixed in the UK ?
Perfect job
Great videos thanks MR.H
very good microscope equipment
Are the coils/inductors not easily available ?. How can you tell the values ?.
I think Apple's chips are proprietary and would be hard to do a repair as their chips are not available on the market. Hence, they use donor boards where they could salvage the parts
Lead-free solder that is used in modern devices for RoHS is more brittle than leaded solder. If that ipad should drop again, those coils will not likely break off again because he used leaded solder which has better elasticity and is much less brittle.
Of course thinking back on it now, the legs of the coils broke off at the coil and not the solder so what I said is irrelevant in this case 😅
Interesting find!!!! Great job!
Would be nice if you could explain what the components are for, that you are replacing.
Like watching 👀 your videos and seeing you do your thing would also like to see big boss do his bit though.
"See you on the next 1"
شكرا جزيلا
Nice video thanks for sharing...keep up the good work
Great job! It's unbelievable that a device that costs about 500$ loses coils in that way...maybe the root causes are both thermal excursion and some kind of shock.
I just had that issue on an iPhone X that had the earspeaker repaired. Since i dont trust generic parts i tested it with a known good oem earspeaker and i worked. I dont know why i didn't make a video for that one.
looking on those dead coils i noticed that they were showing black marks on the top, when you looked around the board i saw a couple of other with marks on the top as well, would that mean they are on there way out as well?
I think they runs too hot to got that mark.
Thank you very much for the vid.
What was the temp of the hot gun?
Greetings to you, Engineering
Great job like all ways
i buy a lot of products from your website, using your microscope setup and love it, which soldering iron setup are you using ? thanks!

I have an ipad restarting how do I send it to you to make an orcamento.sou from Brazil.
do the coils that have same size have the same value ?
I have this same problem iPad 10.5 pro. How much does this type of repair cost
What is the part number of this small coil with dot on (its an inductor)? I found them to buy on aliexpress but someone has to have a part number from general supplier?
Hi, how much would this type of repair cost on average? Whether or not it’s worth repairing or getting a new iPad Air 4? My iPad Pro is stuck in that boot up loop, DFU restore and update didn’t solve it so this appears to be the problem. Not long after I got it It would restart every now and then if it had a slight knock like a 4inch fall when putting down on table. So it seems like a loose connection that finally became completely loose. Thanks
Nice work
What are the coils called as I need some. Kind regards Andy
Wooow you are really intelligent
this video give me alot information
Very Nice. How do you guys rule out software issues? Does iPad let you boot to a LIVE OS for testing?
Well, based on my limited experience. Software issues aren't normally the cause of failure to boot. If it is, usually Apple or whoever the software maker would issue a statement. It all boils down to experience.
Even in drops, I am having a hard time imagining how one would break those inductors. Why would they break so easily, are they poorly potted? I mean, sounds like manufacturing problems
how much Air and Temperature used in this SMD work !! Kindly can u please let me know???
Wich is more dangerous for bord. high heat or high air speed
Is there a video where you open an ipad up and show how to do it? My iPad got this boot loop. Strange circumstances tho.
It did about 2 weeks ago. I just left it on my bed, maybe a game was running stopping the ipad to sleep but i'm not sure. I didn't have time to look for solutions then so i just put it aside, 3 hours later it worked.
2 days ago, also left it on my bed alone, when coming back seeing the boot loop. Waited 6 hours, nothing. Clearing cache, nothing. Connected ipad to my pc and itunes, tried upgrading ios 3 times, still in boot loop. With a big breath i pressed restore for the 4th time. Still the same; while it lasts it acts everything as it should, but when itunes says wait until the ipad reboots and will appear in the menu, it doesn't.
Any idea what i could try? I guess it's not cuz that coil problem you are showing it here as it wasn't moved a bit neither time.
Thanks a ton in advance for any help.
If you don't have donor boards .. where do you find your parts ?
Job well done idol👌
does the donor board need to be the same capacity? or can one use a different capacity but same model? thanks
@8:48 What tool is that, the slim curved hook thing? Doesn't look like a tweezer prong? Looks really handy.
thank you
Had a 1st gen pro 9.7 had 4 loose coils caused it to auto boot to recovery and would give erorr 9
My mom's Moto Android smartphone currently has a bootloop. However we discovered it only works if it is plugged into the charger (and wall outlet). But once you unplug it, it goes back into the bootloop. Here are my questions >
1. Are the coils too big that their tops get bumped when phones/pads get dropped?
2. Are the coil legs too thin & perhaps they should be thicker so that they don't break off?
3. Anyone know the inductance values of those coils, or is there an all in one value used?
Anyway, I will try to inspect my mom's phone for loose parts.
Hi, I have an iPad mini 4 that is stuck on apple logo right after updating to iOS 15.1 Do you think this is a coils problem? I tried restore and factory reset and nothing works.
Do you think these updates fry or do something to the coils or other hardware components? Thanks
Hi, what is your working temperature with the hot air and iron? Thanks
A1474 model same issue ,what is the solution possible ?
I like your smile ... 😀
How much you charge for that?
woot woot nice working
Awesome
HELLO I have an iphone 5 which is showing the logo and can't connect to itunes,What can i do?. From Kenya

Hey, What did you charge for this job?:)
Any idea regarding xs max reboot? All voltages are good, coils are good, its driving me crazy, phones works for 5 min then reboots , its random, i checked almost everuthing, still the same

How could it be possible
nice 👍👍👍👍
That's a shit ton of capacitors on that board. 😳
Awesome ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Because the fuse in the ipad are not fuse, the connectors and inductors are the fuse.
I watch till "AWSOM". :-)
damn did you try a restore
power to the people's!
That missing coil went into the 9th dimension
Wow...
maşaallah
_That's a lot of _*_RECOIL!!_* 🤣
