Not when you read his 📖.
He spent most of the time looking for dealers, in fear of being arrested. He tried to find places where he could hide the drugs. When he had no drugs he bought cough syrup and glue. He even was in prison. 🥃💉💊 addiction is not cool. It's self-destructive.

Even Paul loved Ace.
(Ace was funny. Ace had aura etc.). But when Ace's addiction began to become (self)destructive he decided: "I was determined to survive"! Before he becomes a co-addict.
To love an addict makes you sick.
You know from Ace's book that his daughter had addiction problems too.
Not surprisingly addicts have the tendency to destroy their families and bands before they destroy themselves.
Besides, Ace was not "fame-whoring"?
Instead he was 🥃💉💊whoring.
Obviously he was very fame-obsessed when he did his solo album. He wanted to be better than KISS. The copy of the mega hit "New York Groove" was a commercial decision, to sell more.
Of course, Ace is fame/money oriented.
That's how he became a legend!

I think Ace made a mistake the Duckies were in the Wanderers (1979) same year the Warriors came out the Duckies fight all the gangs towards the end of the film

Not true. KISS had a Farewell Tour (for the original line-up).
The End of the Road Tour was the last tour but had to be interrupted a few times (COVID). It was only ONE tour.

I remember meeting not Ace frehley but the current guitar player of kiss, Tommy Thayer, when I was a kid at a iron chef competition with my dad on one of my birthdays a few years ago. And I even took a picture of him.

Ace was the band.
As Gene said: they all depended on each other. The TEAM was the band.
Paul was the steady creative mind of the band, Gene was the promoter of the band, Ace was the wildcard and Peter had the greatest hit of the band.

He was a great shining light while he was in the band and I love him for that, but KISS wouldn't have made it past the 70's(probably not past the 1st three albums) if it weren't for Gene and Paul. They were the boring, sober caretakers of the band.
In the end, it was all of them together that made the initial magic. Paul can't stand that fact, lol. He even downplays the success of Beth to make himself feel better. They all contributed to what we had as KiSS, both good and bad. They were all right and all wrong at the same time
Would like to see gene and ace form a new band with...let's say...Paul Stanley, and maybe...Peter criss. They could call it Kiss Me Again.
