- Today I wanted to share what I'll be restocking my pantry with after concluding the pantry challenge and in what ways I preserve everything to make sure they will have as long of a shelf/freezer life as they can in our house. Thank you so much for watching!

Bing watching your videos! Very nice!
Thank you so much!
Sour cream is quite easy to make from scratch 😋
Years ago, my husband and I got into making our own sausagges and it was fun. Made several different styles over the years (maple breakfast, English and Irish Bangers, Italian sweet, etc). They turned out to be highly desired Christmas gifts for friends. Nothing like homemade sausage. But you do need to make them from fresh not frozen pork (if you want to freeze them afterwards, that is)
Maple breakfast sausage sounds delicious. Also, I'm glad you mentioned that! I usually get all of my meat into the freezer right away so I'll have to keep in mind to get it made within a day or so of buying. Thank you!
@@stateroutehomestead yes, it is somethingfor which we had to plan ahead, know the day we could commit to making it, have all the ingredients and then buy the meat. But definitely woth it. Too bad I don't live near you or I'd give you my equipment (no lnger use it)
Well I appreciate the thought anyhow! That’s very sweet ☺️
Thank you for taking the time to put this haul together as well as the excellent recommendations for storage. If you can, let us know how the new meat grinder works for you. Cheers, Ardith
Of course! I will definitely keep you updated on the meat grinder! 😁
Hello. I had the same concern about sour cream. We use A LOT. One recommendation I found was to use Nestle Crema (not dulce de leche). I haven't tried it yet but suppose to be able to make sour cream from it. I'm guessing it's the savory version of condensed milk. I have a few cans to try. Thank you
I've never heard to do that! I'll have to give it a try, thank you!!
@State Route Homestead - if you dont mind, please mention how it goes. Thanks
I will definitely let you know!!
I love your videos 🫶🏼
Thank you so much 😊 you made my day!
