With a CPU teammate it can be a bit tricky, but it's pretty easy when you have another human player on your team. The CPU likes to "raise up" alot at the beginning of quarters but then stop and only do it sporadically. Then you have to rely on being able to raise up before your teammate either scores or gets stripped/pushed (plus hope he actually passes the ball to you.)

Sometimes I think that version's CPU Assistance can tilt towards the computer's team even if you're not ahead. After a 10-point win with the 76ers over the Heat, the next game vs. the Cavaliers was tough- I still won, but only by a single point. There it seemed like my shot accuracy was nerfed a bit, & it was definitely harder to steal. Was there a Cleveland fan on Midway's team? Just wondering. Anyway, after that I had a 13-point blowout over the Pistons.
Yeah, the AI is incredibly unfair, but you can still slaughter it if you know what you’re doing. Nonetheless, I still love this more than any other sports game
