I own this projector, and have had it for two years having owned various home theater projectors over the years. I have to say that this projector is the overall best value in a HD projector. Go over to AVS forums and lookup the tweeks for the image quality on this projector and you will be astonished at the quality. Worth every cent. Great reviewer here too!
What's the bulb life like?, cost?, got stung on a LG short throw which had a claimed 30000hr bulb life, lasted 18months, if I had known I would have bought a different projector, don't buy LG!, there claim is B.S.....and after watching the video i now know the bulb life!😂....great vid!
great review, really even the best one! and I did saw many! You showed performance in different light conditions, what is most important in real ambient light, cos you did showed what kind of ambient light you have! Also we could see the close look to evaluate the screen door effect, in this case the absence of it:) pointed experience from loudness of projector... and so on so on:) well done! wish others reviewers could make it this way!
The model you tested is the W1110 you have information W2000? the effect can be more visible with rainbow w2000 !? I think I read this ... Can you help me understand !? from what I read I have a color wheel RGBRGB different in many complaining about the effect rainbow Greetings
I live in a loft with a very large living space and at least 12foot tall windows. I would love to have a huge resolution projected on a wall similar to what you see at cinemas, not that big of course. Whats the max size it can get to while still retaining its brightness and picture quality. Will it loose quality and brightness if it is too far away at least 25ft from the wall its projected on. Im not to concerned about ambient light as I intend to get curtains in the future and most of the time it will be used at night but can it perform will in bright areas.
I just got this projector but its a lot louder then my 3 year old benq w1070? The specs says its supposed to be quieter? it starts up quite then after 2 mins the fans speed up to what sounds like max speed? Is my old 1070 quite because its old and the bulb is dimmer?
+Juston Bacon LEDs have come a long way, but they are still typically lower brightness and won't be great for everyday daytime viewing in uncontrolled lighting environments
+Darren Reviews true but he wouldn't have to worry about changing out lamps, not only that but he can get a 1.8 gain screen through elite screens to help save money
+marrbrtrs LG PH300 and AAXA P300. The PH300 puts out 300 lumens with beautiful color, has a built in battery, built in video/media player (usb) and built in HD tuner, all at 720P. - in this price range too, less than $400. You should find out what the lag time is on the projectors you are considering. Gaming on a projector is awesome, but using a dim projector (300 or 400 lumens) can really suck. The BenQ HT2050 delivers about 1,200 on screen lumens (after calibration) and you can use a 120" or larger screen easily. Moreso, it has a 33ms lag time which is very fast for front projection and great for gaming. It's not cheap, so about $800, but it will make you stop going to the movie theaters.
Long enough so you'll really struggle to find a replacement lamp when it finally does die, and once you find one, you'll realize that it's impossible for an ordinary person to open up the damn projector. They really went out of their way to make this process as difficult as possible.
+Ibrahim Al Abdali the ht2050 is better overall, but if you already own a w1070, i wouldn't feel it's a big enough jump to merit an upgrade unless there is a specific new feature you are planning to use.
BENQ PICTURE SETTINGS Bright COLOR MODE (WALL COLOR - BLUE) - Warm - ECO - 2.2 GAMMA - COLORIFIC -ON SOUND = Cinema let me know if like the settings. I think it looks really good.
You compared the cost of the bulb to a Netflix account, so does this come with Netflix. I don’t understand the comparison because the projector is worthless if your not watching something.
I'm disappointed by this video, in 10 minutes you only showed us about 10 seconds of actual video from the projector. No like today Mister, try again tomorrow.
+Shapka Showing footage of the projection simply wouldn't do any good performing projector justice, it just doesn't make sense to judge the performance of a projection via a video that's been shot by a camera containing any number of settings which change how the image looks, then compressed by youtube. If the projector had some visual fault, that can be demonstrated, but accurately trying to show it's real world performance? Not going to happen unless it's in person.

I've been debating between this model and the TH670 and this is easily the most insight I've come across thus far. Thanks a bunch man.

Great information! My current projector sits 15 feet from the screen. Can I use the 2050 at that distance? Thanks in advance for your help.

Is this better then the 3050? Or what would you say is better ? Thanks
Darren any thoughts on this vs optoma gt1080
So how long will the bulb last watching tv everyday for 6 hours?

If the bulb lasted 5000 hr it would last 2.2 years.
