I can't believe the green tint at 09:00. Even my old cheap projector doesn't look that bad. Could it be that this was recorded in the max brightness mode? I saw in another review, that that mode is basically unusable due to its green tint, which wouldn't be a big deal since the other modes are still pretty bright.
5 years ago, this projector at this price point would have been amazing but comparing it next to the JVC really puts things into perspective. At $2k it's still pretty impressive but I would expect a lower black floor or reduced RBE. Neither of those things seem to have been addressed and the color saturation seems worse the the HT4550. I'm not sure the price point makes up for the lack of color and contrast. Maybe an in person demo would change my mind but it generally looks washed out and not worth $2000.
How does this compare to the X500i? Is the loss in color/contrast worth no RBE + more brightness? I'm also considering the TH690ST to save on costs since people rave about the image quality of that projector.
So how does this compare to the 700STi? That one was specifically aimed as a gaming projector. Less for films. And yes, the black levels aren't the best. But I do mostly use it to watch my films (on a 100 inch) screen and especially the 4K HDR films look magnificent. Compared to previous projectors I owned, this easily rocks. Somebody was asking about fan noise. It's at it's loudest in normal mode but I barely notice it. In ECO mode it reduces the sound by half. ECO mode is nice when brightness isn't that important but if you have it in this mode too long, the image will flicker. Going back to normal mode fixes this. I am confused about the 710STi. I barely see a difference apart from being less suitable for gaming. It's also a lot more expensive.
Wait, wait, wait, WAIT! Did you spend 7k on a 150" screen? Man, you just made me feel a lot better about spending ~$800 on a 150", 1.7 gain ALR fresnel screen with some actual engineering on it. (It's for regular and short throw projectors, not USTs) 😅
side by side comparison with jvc is very helpful. please include those comparisons for all your future reviews.

Would you recommend this if we already own a TK 700STi that's barely a year old from purchase?
Can you double check on the .47 chip? I think its .65 chip
@@massarock23 can you confirm if its a .65 chip?
I’ve been looking at the 710 (same projector with longer throw lens) and I believe that has the .65 chip.
It is definitely a .65 chip.
it's a 0.65 inch DMD chip
How does this compare to the ht4550? Im looking for a laser projector for 100" at 9ft and these both seem to hit that spot
Out of this and HT4550i/w4000i, which is better?
What are the recommended settings for a mid bright bedroom? I also use an Apple TV 4K with it I am confused
What you think about this to use for 180 inch screen.. only for movies...
Next option for me is LG BU53RG and LK936st benq
Can you please compare this to the Hisense C2 Ultra?
At 55 sec, you mention that BenQ uses the 0.47 chip, but I've seen conflicting info that it's using the 0.65 chip. Can you confirm?
Can anyone tell if this is better than the LG HU710PW? And other lifestyle projectors like Hisense C1, C2 Ultra, Xgimi Horizon Ultra?
Thanks for the review! Can you pair it with headphones via Bluetooth?
Dang, HDMI 2.0 and EARC ... BUT the android TV dongle doesn't support Dolby Atmos??? Am I thinking about this right?
A REVIEW!!! Awesome and appreciated sir.
THank you for the review, is it noisy?
regarding the jvc nz8 comparison at 9:00, how does it compare if you use the dynamic light mode which sould improve contrast ?
Yah, I'm really scratching my head why no one except the Hook Up uses dynamic mode. That's the mode everyone should use.

I would have bought this if could display at 120 inch without bluriness. Only optimised to max 100 inch.
U spoiled this projector for me when u compared it with jvc. Now I'll have to sell both my kidneys 😂

Decent picture without changing bulbs...thats what I'm after.
I want to know the same as well, as I am switching from my x500i
Thanks for sharing
Thank you Shane Buddy. 🙏🏻

It's brighter and has a laser instead of a lamp so it'll last longer.

Bro be like let's compare Toyota Camry to Lamborghini urus.
Any comments on fan noise?
It’s about the same as the jvc.

Nice video Shane. I wonder how it compares to the Dangbei DBO Xo2 $2000 MODEL.
Never heard of Dangbei. Sounds cheap.
@@therealshanelee Same price Shane and claims to be about the same. I gave you the exact model number so you can if you want to look it up.
@@therealshanelee actually they measure well for a low cost projector. there are many new Chinese players now with decent specs.
