Not here from anime, games or horror I've just always been obsessed with engine sounds and chainsaws are a personal favorite, up there with a classic Cadillac V8
I always love the sound of an old McCulloch, sound likes nothing else! Part of it probably has to do with growing up around one. My father had a Pro Mac 610 he bought in 1983, and ran it every winter til 2009. Now he has a 605 Timber Bear. I bought a 1982 610, and a 1969 Pro Mac 6 at a swap meet.
The only saw that sounds better than that, is a McCullough 1-53, cutting into scaley bark hickory in the middle of July. Gives me goose bumps just hearing it!!! Great video
It really was luck I pick this saw up. A maintenance crew at a local high school of mine had it, they bought new saws and were going to throw this one away. A friend of mine works on the maintenance crew and let me know they were getting rid of the saw. I dropped what I was doing and drove down as fast as I could to pick it up! Its now one of my favorite saws. Best of luck on finding one, its definitely a saw worth looking for!
@@stingray8775 - Agreed, eight hundred and ninety five times over. I just swapped out the flat back carb in my 1-85 with a 090 carb. Pretty good so far. Love the bar on your saw - NICE!
When you shut an engine off it slows down to its last rotation and only completes part of the compression stroke. But it does make some compression and that little bit rotates the engine backwards engaging the pull starter. Mcculloch pull starters engage very quickly and that small backwards rotation of the engine could over time damage the starter. So you will see people do it just because they are trying to make the starter last as long as possible especially with old saw.
I know Sthil started putting in electronic ignitions in the early 70s. But for the most part it was not until the 80s did cdi's start to be more common.
