As I recall they were a little under powered but did a good job if you are not in any rush, not for the pros if you are making money cutting wood.

The casualty rate was appalling, but not sure where the U.S. would be without this aircraft . i've always thought that it was the most beautiful plane that I ever saw . my uncle flew in one in the war, and a neighbor did also, he had some very interesting stories . i've always wanted to fly in one, but in my 70's i'm running out of time . thanks for the video.

I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

I used to hold the B17 in high regard. I think cold analysis undertaken by experts has taken the shine of its reputation as a great bomber just a bit. It did have its shortcomings ,speed , bomb load, weight, However the USAAF managed to work round the shortcomings to eventually grind the enemy resistance into the ground. It did the job as a strategic bomber. It flew all through the war.......
