2 great saws, you have them running well and keep your chain oiled good. I grew up using a 610, I have a 605 now , basicly the same, good saws but a little on the heavy side, I also have a 10-10, it really cracks, and has a great sound.. My favorite saw is an ole 025 stihl but.., they all get the job done if your careful and do your maintenance. I am not a fan of Poulan but I will use them if that's all I have. Long live the Ole Macs.
i just aquirred a 610 chainsaw yesterday .. the compression was outstanding.. i never tried to start it due to the owner said it needed a fuel line ,,when i opened the fuel cap and turned it upside down to see what was in it,,haha oil dripped out of it.. hmm I think someone doesnt know where the bar oil and the mix oil gas go !! does anyone have the prper fuel mix ratio to these chainsaws? or is it just a standard 50 to one mix ratio?in the mean time ill be just cleaning the the saw up in general had a thick layer of dirt all ver it which tells me it hasnt been used in a in a long time. the fuel line is still flexible which to me says theirs nothing wrong with it other than mabey a burned or fouled plug and an owner who has no clue what mix oil is .LO.
And that is exactly why I got away from vintage saws (at least using them for actual firewood). To hell with pulling that rope a shit ton of times and talk about slooowwww cutting I still use my beloved homelite xl12 but just for fun Echo 4910 (ported) Husqvarna 372xp (ported)
Have a 610 since 82 still cutting wood great saw
Ya it's been a pretty good saw for $5 I paid. Had to replace the recoil now but other than that nothing
Is the 610 the same as a Timber Bear?

Lol I love that 610 it's a solid runner and I only paid $5. Can't beat it for the price and it's got pretty good antivibe. And decent power.
10-10 is a slower rpm saw, 610 is a bit faster & it will handle a 24" bar just fine. Got 4 of those.
Still have my dad's 610. I have bought a few over the years. They are very good saws.

The 610 has a auto oiler, you don't need to manually do anything unless you need more
My auto oiler has never worked on this saw and I'm to lazy to replace it.
Sweet saws!
Thanks they are both beautiful saws.
Your axe skills make me nervous.
Locust creates axe bounce like crazy its so hard
Who swings like a madman anyway I like my legs even splitting some stuff you get that bounce back 😂
That 610 is hungry!
The day I was cutting in this video they both were pretty sharp chains.

the 610 is 60cc not 61
The 610;ate up the 10-10.
The 610 had a better chain and the 10-10 in the video doesn't really care for the 24" bar. It much prefers the 20 inch that's on it now.
With respect...that saw will kick back on you one day and a hard lesson will be learned to keep both hands on the saw. Stay safe!
Saws never kick back in a downward buck cut
610 out dothe 10 10
10 10 is 54 cc
