- I call this a relay battle! Players have to get a certain amount of kills to unlock reinforcements that are waiting to join the battle! Enjoy that Battle!

I got a good battle scenario, would take some coordination but I call it ‘the Sekigahara scenario’ where it’s a free for all (up to 3 players or a 2v2v2) and 2 sides duke it out, while the third army sits and waits, and it’s up to the other 2 opponents to convince the neutral player to join their side! So it could be based off of in game speak (which can be good for live streams as it could be hilarious) or by looking to see which side is winning or maybe one player is putting pressure on the neutral army by firing artillery on them (which is what Tokugawa did) or some other way. Based off of my favorite historical battle.
I support this.
I nominate this
As cool as this sounds I’m pretty sure TW games only have two sides
@@alexsass6539 Pretty sure M2TW has several teams
@@kingchubbythe1541 yeah, it's the only one that actually has a good foundation format.
Love the new concepts, I think it would better rather than kills, it should be deaths. If you lose 700 men and 2000 men etc.
Lmao
@@jacksonpettit4690 What's so funny?
I actually agree. I’m assuming that we have the same logic- it spices up the battle and gives the losing side a slight edge.
@@a-10warthog78 I think we're on the same page, by giving reinforcements to the losing side instead, it's keeps the battle interesting. By rewarding kills, you end up knowing who will win quite early on as its pileing on their advantage.
also, using percentage would be the best
The Bohemians were well known for their invisible soldiers. They sprayed them with Disapperium Superium before battle. It is well documented in the battle of IJustMadeItUpImKidding Hill.
trying to hard
@@zej8777 I'm sorry..did I get the memo where I care about your opinion? Lol
@@Fatherofheroesandheroines damn XD
@@Fatherofheroesandheroines I don't care
Your sources are wrong and you lying. The bohemians were known for some stuff. They were definitely one of the factions
I was the French player who fucked it up XD I had major issues with my battle groups so my units where all over the place as u can see. But the micro management of the elephant was just very good. I couldn’t do anything to them with my cav. They won because of the elephant. Huge props to them. It was a really fun match tough : )
At that point in the game all I had left were the elephants so I was intensely interested in keeling them alive. I spent every cannon round by the end.
Apollo has got to be my favorite youtuber, I mean no one except Apollo would think of this.
The cloaked axe dudes are Varangian Guard, are they not? The badass viking mercenaries who served the Byzantine Empire for many years and were super well-regarded. Check out one of the historical vids on them from Kings and Generals/HistoryMarche (I don't remember exactly who did the video).
they are love them
I think it would be neat if you did a reverse version where when one team kills a certain amount the other team gets the reinforcements. Because the team that is losing the man needs the reinforcements more.
good idea, but instead of using full numbers you should use percentages of the total amount of troops. otherwise it makes no sense to go with quantity vs quality because they will die quicker. but if you use percentages, say 1st reinforcement departs when 15% of army is destroyed, total numbers don't matter
Bravo, I love this game mode and I love the name of it too, I think that you did a great job, and I think it is soo cool how you created this I love you videos. I think that there are not many changes needed and if there are I cant find them, so good job, you never cease to amaze me
How about allowing the reinforcing armies to send 1 or 2 units right from the start as a 'vanguard' of sorts?
4:55, Ah yes the Legion of Floating Armour, always a good sight to see on the field of battle (as long as they're on your side.)
Would love to see more of this. 1212 is one of the best total war mods there is.
It’s been so long since I’ve watched your videos. Not since 2018 or 19. Started in 2015 when I was 11. Boy it feel good to be back
Sorry Apollo,but a Teutonic+French faction...I gotta go for them!
Everybody gangsta until invincible units join the battle 🗿💀⚰️
Great new concept! Very interesting to watch!
But I think it would be more balanced if every team needs to kill a percentage amount of the enemies forces and not a fixed number like 700.
Something like 15% or 20%.
Because if you got more men in your army than your opponent your men are usually a bit weaker and because of that they are easier to kill and your opponent is able to get his reinforcements easier.
There could be a really cool game mode where one side has three reinforcement armies like this, but they come in every set amount of time, to hold against a massive opposing force. This could be called time trials, where red has triple yellows starting army, but yellow makes up for it in the reinforcements. This can all be changed but it could be a cool idea. Total War The Time Trials
Edit: Forgot to say, loved the scenario.
You could do the same concept but each "army" would be comprised of a third of each player's forces so that you have all players participating the whole game. However, it would require disciplined players who were minding which units they were selecting (set high # control groups for them, I guess). Can you "give control" of troops to your allies in Attila/1212? It's a great feature that is present in WH2, makes playing coop campaigns a lot of fun and would be a great way to ensure no player is sitting idle for a long while and is tempted to backseat general, though I'm someone who always welcomes the extra eyes.
I also like the "relay reverse" scenario other folks here in the comments suggested, where the reinforcements are based on losses rather than kills. That would encourage fighting with a bunch of levy units to start, reserving more valuable units for later in the fight (which is pretty common/realistic based on a lot of historical battle documentaries I've been listening to). Or combine both (I know, it is a bit of refereeing) so that if you get X number of kills or Y number of losses, your next reinforcements unlock.
Also, in historical battles, evenly-matched armies often pulled back from each other after the initial clash, to recover and reposition units. That's why I wish there was a fighting fall-back/guarded withdrawal option for well-trained units in Total War, like there is in the Ultimate General series. I love playing Rome 2 with DEI and the Longer Battles submod because the killing is slower and swapping out fatigued units is not only possible but important because your Exhausted units only fight at 50% strength and suffer morale penalties for being Exhausted. It's a really great experience, even vs the AI.
Great battle mode, I love the options beyond just a FFA
Very similar to the Warhammer 3 domination mode. Very cool idea 💡
Love the interesting game mod! Does snowballing become a problem?
The ghurid was an Afghani- Indian sultanate ruling from Delhi btw
What was the music at the start of the video? Absolutely beautiful!
I think the numbers were perfect, maybe make the third army come in a little sooner. Imo, moving towards your allies is fine. If an opponent feels that isn't fair, I'd say, "Okay, well, come try and stop me." It's wise, and feels historically appropriate. Armies would retreat all the time to meet up with reinforcements. Just incentive to come packing archers to harrass their retreat. Only thing- Trebizond makes me want to see more of these battles feature Nicea!
I love how your mod always has some random Invisible Men At Arms
I would have considered the elephants to be artillery, and not a 5th missile unit. Awesome battle.
it's a really good game mod so i think it was a really good idea
That is a cool concept for the game
Could be interesting to see games like this but reinforcements coming in after a set amount of time rather than kills
@theDuke'sTW this would incentivise players to play very defensively which would lead to less entertaining battles imo. that's why I'd change it to deaths instead of kills, so the side which desperately needs reinforcements (since they are losing) gets them first. at the same time changing it to relative numbers - like 20% and 40% of forces for example - would balance out the "numbers vs. quality" issue. those changes might introduce a battle of shifting tides.
@@jobreuer5319 it would also incentivise killing your enemy before their reinforcements arrive making it faster and more aggressive. Ideally there'd be a system for the more units you delay, the more money can be invested in them so you balance the amount of troops initially with greater reinforcements, knowing that the fewer you start with the more vulnerable you are to a swift strike
It was super fun watching it live.
This is an awesome game mode.
Those bohemian knights are real nobodies
4:56 It's the Bedknobs and Broomsticks army.
great new concept, i liked it very much
Loved this
Cool concept i would love to see more
This scenario probably needs a custom made map, there are a lot of ways this could go wrong ruleswise. Still pretty fun! I am not sure why Poland chose to stay in that cav fight with France for so long and nobody joined with infantry to help.
Awesome game mode idea! TW needs new gamemodes!
Maybe the relays could maneuver but can only engage once summoned. It would make for faster and more violent battles.
Tag teams! Hominids together stronk! 👊
Marvelous!
Good idea!
Love this game mode my man ide play
An interesting concept. I'm not even a minute into the video and am only commenting to solidify an early comment, but interesting.
We want more battles like this plz
Hey Apollo, you should do a 2v2 but you are controlling 2 accounts at once so its basically you vs 2 players
it is very exciting game concept
God if I love this mechanic
I need to know what the music is at the start. Please Let me know what it is
You alreddy introduced this type of relais in siege games. With reinforcements who came to relief the defenders... so this is not verry new ! BUT it was nice to watch. glad to see sommething else. Didnt you like to play game of thrones ? ? because this scenario and rule would be good in the game of game of thrones. The houses who will help the other houses. And start with the lanisters etc etc . sure tis will work out
good video again! pixie, I just love them! you know that right?
goddammit apollo the Byzantium wasn't the only empire in the east
i can't believe Those elephants are still alive 💀💀
Seeing as I really love 1212 ad as a mod I'd love to see an update for it that would lead up to the 13 hundreds even cooler would be a mod for the age of exploration what would be my favorite thing to see a Victorian era total war
the campaign for the mod starts at 1212 ad but as you progress through the years, the age of the units change. early as 1212,high as 13th and late for 14th and 15th century
lets go
Pretty cool
Loved it
I think its better if you are loosing 700 troops then you get to unlock the reinforcements.
the general charge was the best one
Hey pixal. I want to play this game on PC but I'm not certain on which one it runs on better.
what system do you run? all the games ive played of total war ive never been able to run LARGE battles. im always stuck to 1v1 with standard army sizes and even the newer stuff lowers my unit count. really want to upgrade but dont want to go too big if i dont have to cause i dont play AAA titles on PC. I dont know if its CPU GPU or Ram. PLEASE HELP!!! lol.
epic battle (:
If u could make a siege version that would be great
Someone let me know when he starts playing third age again.
