Thank you so much for covering this replay Apollo :) It was really intense, cause at the start it looked really promising for my side, but later in the battle the enemies captured the bow dojo, where they could refill ammo for their rockets. As I had to stop this(cause rockets with unlimited ammo is basically a free victory) I had to split my forces, but was really suprised as well how many troops were still hidden there. Thats when they crushed our left flank and turned it around again, as I couldn't send help in time. At the end I had mostly archers left, while the enemies had some good melee units and the shrine and sword dojo(increased morale and melee attack). Thats why their charge at the end could deal so much damage as I had my most infantery sent against the line infantery on the other side. Overall I had just 168 soldiers still fighting at the end so less than 10% of my original army XD
A total war game set between the end of the napoleonic wars and the unification of Germany perhaps. Somewhere between 4 and 8 turns a year depending on how long you want the campaign. Either a map that covers most of the old Rome 2 map plus the Atlantic or an empire style map with 4 major areas (Europe, the Americas, South Asia and the South China sea). That's everything I could dream of in a total war game.
When the blue time was hiding troops in the trees was a good idea. When the red army split to capture the dojo that left the remaining red army forces engaging the blue army flanking forces by themselves. So the blue team can easily pull out their troops out of the trees and encircle and kill those troops on the red army left wing.
The calvary charge in Shogun 2 is indeed the best out of all total war. They are not too exaggerated while not too realistic, and provide a very nice sense of satisfaction when they run down or ram the units. Especially the sound design of metal clashing is powerful. Cavalry is also more responsive but smooth after charge and move away. I dont understand why would CA threw away these since Total War Rome 2.
You know, fielding always the same tactic gets boring at some point and its quite fun to master an uncommon tactic. Also thats one of the reason I sent this replay to Apollo, cause its not the typical Shogun 2 battle where the armies struggle for a few mins and the battle is over quick. The tactics might be bizarre, but thats what is making the battle interesting imo :)
I Wana play shogun 2 but the mp is dead and there are a lot of restricted units so I cannot even play freely that I used to do in Napoleon total war and other total wars.
Its multiplayer so its a combination of both versions. There is normal Shogun 2 and Fall of the Samurai, both games works alone, but also together (like the warhammer titles). Each side had a player with a traditional army and a player with a modern army
@@Mr.Basel-1992 Shogun 2 and Shogun 2 Fall of the Samurai are 2 seperate products and each of it works without owning the other one. But basiclly it is the same game. It got the same game engine and mechanics. And the multiplayer allows players of both games to fight together. See in Warhammer you have Warhammer 1-3. When you only own Warhammer 1 you can only use Warhammer 1 units, but you can play togetehr with Warhammer 2 or Warhammer 3 players. Idk how to describe it another way rn XD Maybe just see it as a massive DLC that you can still play without owning the original game

Either France, or maybe the Russians, as they are resistant to cold. But my favourite faction is Britain and Prussia, but russia has a nice campaging, modernising your country, bulding defences, and awaiting the inevetable arrival of Napoleon
Russia's a pretty solid faction in Napoleon/Empire. They're better in melee than the other factions are, And they also have excellent artillery. The infantry doesn't shoot as well as other factions infantry though, So they're best used aggressively. Get a few volleys off and then give the enemy the Bayonet.
@@StandingWithUkraine They did. And you know what? As someone of polish descent, I don't blame them for not wanting to get involved. very few of us blame them. It wasn't their fight. Intense battle and the commentary kept up with the pace aswell slowing it down when needed. Good 👍

Owen Wilson called...he wants his "WOW" back... :P
I imagine that Blue was hoping to beat the remaining Red player by surrounding him and hoping to make him slip up in micro. Instead, Red swung first.

Gotta take a bath after all that blood spattering from the close-ups, lol - really love the Blood effects in Shogun2, by far the best imo.

The red banner player went with the old Oda Nobunaga plan of battle.
