    If their were a contest of who can make/create the most 'frugal' moonshine still, that actually works. You'd of won that contest hands down. Most all the materials were 'used', actually making them free. A few dollars for the copper and putty is all you spent.

  • @OdinsHarem

    I wonder if the shine gets any flavor from the putty. The old-school way would be to just mix flour with water and make dough. Worst case scenario, if you even get the slightest flavor from the dough, it's still that grain-flavour your looking for anyway.

    Are you worried it might crack as you heat it up? Do you need to warm it up first slowly or can you take it immediately to the highest heat setting?

    • @BrewBeginner
      @BrewBeginner 6 місяців тому

      If you heat it slowly it will be fine,

    • @OdinsHarem
      @OdinsHarem 6 місяців тому +1

      It would be preferrable to heat it up slowly, for several reasons. First of all, alcohol evaporates at 77 Celsius (with water evaporating at 100) - so, if I were doing it on a stove like that, I would be riding the heat on and off on the first setting. Otherwise you can a) over-pressurise the run and b) dilute the alcohol by getting water with it.
      With stilling, "easy does it" really is the attitude you should approach it with.
