A cheap and simple way to build a stove top moonshine still. So small, you can distill while cooking dinner.
Less than $20 total cost.

There is a reason this video has so many views. Simple perfection.
Except using vinegar to clean your coil is extremely dangerous. Super heated vinegar and copper makes copper acetate. which is deadly. Just clean your coil with boiling water or starsan. Once you start your runs the heads will further clean the coil. Vinegar just corrodes your copper faster and introduces more junk. There is a reason moonshiners don't sterilize anything because the heads will do it for them.

As a second hobby, I think you can impersonate a pressure cooker sound perfectly. So let the world enjoy all your talents.
That is actually really funny
FR sounds identical lol
I've watched every episode of Moonshiners, not once did they ever talk about cleaning out corrosion with vinegar! This is why I love the internet!! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience!
On "Moonshiners" o'l Jim-Tom is shown cleaning a still using nothing but paper towels and, believe it or not, Ketchup! Inside the still and out, makes it look like a new penny!
@@davidwayschannel28 HAHAHA! Must have been during one of those seasons when I was constantly blazed! Don't even remember that, bet production was overjoyed with that trick! =P Ketchup for the win!
I wouldnt trust anything off of moonshiners that’s just another reality tv show for ratings not information, watch popcorns documentary this is the last dam run of likker I’ll ever make or something like that, all of the footage of popcorn on moonshiners was clips from his documentary because he was dead before they even started filming moonshiners.
@@djf5065 I've seen parts of that doco yeah, don't think I have seen the full version though. Will try dig it up again. Thanks for mentioning it, others should definitely see that!
Thanks. I made one these 20 years ago. My friends would borrow it and distill wild irish rose wine. I had my craft perfected long before the internet was thought of.
Same here. I used to buy cooking sherry on my food stamps card (broke younger days) to run through it. I didn't discard the first few drips the first time I did it, I never made that mistake again.
your videos about distilling product are probably the best i'v seen in a while thanks for sharing
Found myself a 5 dollar pressure cooker like yours at the thrift store...got my copper tubing, bolts to hook it up. I am good to go. So excited! ☺️ Thank you!
Did it work?
Update and what tubing?
@@schurik4n yes, it worked awesome!!! Copper tubing I bought at a building supply store.
@@jranalexandersen5943 yes, it worked perfectly 😁

my stainless steel lid, stripped the brass fitting i put through.l so i made a wooden nut and screwed it into the brass fitting. it works fine. the pressure cooker's overflow valve was broke so i plugged it with a self drilling screw. no leaks. i liked how u did the coild in that container. the torqueing of the tubing causes leaking so i used a brass fitting at the spicket with a bike tire/gasket to plug any leaks around the spicket. i use a rocket stove and siphon off water from the cooling container and have the water hose on low, so the water in the cooling container stays cool. the water never gets hot beyond 2 turns of the copper tubintg. so the water goes in at the bottom and the siphone drains from the top of the cooling containter. u taught me well. thanx for your mentorship
The steady cadence and repetition is what makes this a tutorial video, and a nice one at that.
Yes, both, and hard cider or apple wine. One of my favorite drinks is a shot of distilled grape wine aged with Jack Daniels smoking chips with ginger ale.
Thanks wcemichael I learned a lot from your video. All I knew was from watching moonshiners on TV so your video was very useful, informative & spot on for me. I've made my first drinkable liquor thanks man!
You're welcome. But always strive to do better the next time and the next time etc
Very very good tutorial my friend! I've been making homemade vodka for a few years now, and after deciding to dodge away from my family recipe - I found this lovely tutorial, so I'll be trying this out and distilling my own brew, heh. Thanks a bunch man, your Russian brother from the UK is defiantly thankful!

I've covered this 5 times already. Aluminum is in the pot. It doesen't evaporate, therefore it can't recondense either. It stayes in the pot till you dump it. Popcoarn sutton used this trick to keep people from stealing his mash. He put epson salts, that would make people sick, in the mash. It was removed with distilling. Can it affect the taste? Yes it can, everything you do affects taste.
If you still have conerns, I did make a vid with a stainless steel pot.
wow this video is get old but still a good one. Thank u for sharing, we will be waiting and watching for your return.
I went with the easiest hook up available as far as finding parts. You can order a roll of SS tubing but you still need an initial cleaning.
They also say that copper prevents sulfates from forming in your finished product.
I have to say, this little setup is genius! Nice Job!
In addition to the ETHANOL (drinkable alcohol) you also get small amounts of other poisonous substances, METHANOL, ACETONE, and maybe a couple others. They evaporate quicker than the ethanol does so it comes out of the still first. I learned to distinct the non-drinkable from the drinkable by taste alone. You can toss this or save it to light fires in your BBQ or wood stove.
It's more like 1 shot to a cup per 5 gals of mash, depending on your mash making process.
the heads
Good talk. People be smart.
This is a good simple design, I'd go for a tight coil around a metal bucket with the fire inside the bucket so the copper doesn't get oxidized and crack and the amount of wood can be controlled so in the snow you don't have to gather so much wood and less heat is wasted and you'll get a good idea of how much wood to put in the bucket to last all night when you sleep
You've created a monster (me). The first video I watched regarding home distillation was one of yours. So I built myself a simple 7 gal pot still. I made a few runs with great results including the rice and rum recipes. Then I started watching other videos, learning about BokaBobs and liquid management, cooling mgmt and vapor mgmt stills. So after scouring craigslist for 2" copper pipe and a stainless keg and several runs to bLowes, I now have a 2"x 48" reflux/vapor mgmt still with two condensers and a parrot. I'm starting to wonder if maybe there's a recovery program for obsessive home distillers. I sure hope so. Otherwise I'm screwed. Lol

Wow. That's simple!
I would have never thought that a still needed cleaning.
Thanks!
I've been using them, me and my friend are fine. My original seal did swell up slowly after time, the alchol was not affected, The new seal was allowed a break in time before using it. If your seal is affecting your alchohol, you'll taste it. If you go out of your way to find the cheapest seal you can find, you're asking for trouble.
Thats pretty straight forward. Im an at home wine maker and decided to maybe dabble a bit in something like this. I think i'm going to take your ideas and incorporate them into my still. Maybe even take some of that wine i screwed up a while ago and distill that. I know its got an alcohol content of 12%, only problem is it will snag every gag reflex you have on the way down. Maybe this will help. Ever distilled from homemade red and white wines?
Another option to using vinegar in cleaning your still is to use concentrated lemon juice (also available in sizable bottles from your local dollar store).
The tradeoff is you have to use a lot more juice than you would vinegar, but you won't get that vinegar smell throughout your house.

Thanks mate, will try to get stainless if I can. I have a small tyre stainless valve off a car tube that will fit but how do I connect the copper to the stainless? the stainless would fit into the copper microbore (10mm) but dont want it to be permanent just like yours. Would food grade plastic do. It would only be 1inch.
+Philip Bunnell Do not use plastic, and it's not as permanent as you think. You unscrew one fitting in the lid and go to the hardware store and find a new fitting to screw in. You wanna change it back? Just swap them back.
The original ring was pretty old, it did start to swell. I bought a new one, it was made from a different kind of rubber. I broke this in by boiling it in mixture of water, vinegar, and whatever spices I had available including cinnamon. This helps get the rubber taste out before you start to use it for alcohol

clean and simple I like it. I would do it outside on a rocket stove though. It was helpfull thank you
Thank you, this video showed me very useful information and the elaborate possibilities of making moonshine.
I always boil 2 cups of vinegar though my system, then water, before every run. (if it stis for more than a day)
I think I sorted out why. When it's just water, it's running at higher tem, then a run on cheep wine, this worked good. I followed your advice, play around first worked for me
Richard uk Glad to hear it
Pack the tube with sand to make it easier to bend. You can also use this for cleaning drinking water.
...or fill it with water and freeze it.

You always get the bad alcohol first, no mater what your brewing. You learn to separate it from the good. Check the comments. I've talked about this already. I'll have a video on this stuff in the near future.
I admire your dedication to the alembic sciences my brother.
that pressure cooker is aluminum, you can tell from the rough surface vs mirror finished stainless. aluminum will corrode with a low PH liquid like a mash, it will eventually have a breach from this deterioration
In like 10 years from everyday use.
ofc it’s the pedo cartoon rick and morty coming in to be the fucking fact janitor
I've used it a lot. The aluminum can not evaporate and should stay in the pot just like all the other solids in there, however I can't find a testing kit to confirm this. So hypothetically there could be a very small amount in your finished product. This is still better than a lot of stills I've seen on YT. Start with it if it's handy. Learn your stuff. Upgrade to stainless steel, or copper when you can
Use copper in your coil, BUT KEEP IT CLEAN
It's been years since I've moonshined. This seems like an easy way to brew, cause I'm used to using the huge 8 Gallon jugs and such.
Now with your mash, what all did you use? I know you need active yeast and such...
Hey
I have a Presto, stainless steel cooker that I'm going to use. Only the rocker has a threaded hole. The overpressure plug is heavy rubber and goes into a non-threaded hole. Should I mount the condenser array where the rocker assembly is or is there a way that's safe and efficient to use the wider (but non-threaded) overpressure plug?hole?
80 proof with non-sugared, all grain mash. Sugared mash, 130
That sounds absolutely amazing, but i've never distilled anything as of now. I figure the red wine I cant drink is what i'll start with. I have a hard cider going right now, but its my first try on it. If it dont come out maybe i'll have to do two different runs. One with red wine and one with hard cider. Thanks for replying man. Its very rare for people that have that many views to keep up with their comments. Keep up the good work and party on!
A safety device that lets out alcohol fumes near an open flame?
flopski. and just how much steam do you think would come out at roughly 1 psi???
And how would hot vapors float down around the pot exactly??? Let me check my science book......Yep, hot air still rises. (sigh of relief) For a second there you had me thinking that might have changed over the years and stated going down
wcemichael Ah, exploding stills are a myth. Thanks for clearing that up.
flopski Well exploding stills can technically happen, but you need the right conditions.
Escaping alcohol fumes and a heat source is a perfect condition. All it needs is a lack of air circulation. Why did you respond in such a childish manner?
flopski I didn't. Just stating facts. There is no oxygen in the pot. No oxygen no boom, unless it explodes from built up pressure, which it won't.
I've had a faulty seal drip alcohol down the side into the flame from trying a new experiment and the flame when up the side. Guess what? No boom.
perfect voice for a moonshine instructional- now i on the other hand will be making some Poteen ;)
Video seems to have a lot of good info, but I gotta ask, were you drunk when you made it?
I made a couple of these, but I used a tea kettle and stuffed the opening with foam from a flip flop and shoved the pipe through. I never tried alcohol, but it distilled salinated water. I want to try making some alcohol, just for the heck of it.

Folks, I apologize for this man rude attitude. He wanted to argue over the simple physics of basic distillation, and when I showed him that he'd have to change the laws of physics to be right, all he had left was a bag of insults and beating his chest.
Don't let people like this discourage you from doing things, like making UA-cam videos. They'll always be there.
You'll never be able to make any video without someone hating it, so don't lose sleep worrying about it!
Just get on with it buddy, no need for saying they same things over and over again..
No need in repeating what's been said over and over and over again either buddy. First time on the subject. They get much better from here.

People please... I'll remind everybody that YT is for everybody, skilled or otherwise, to make and submit videos. People can only do as best as they can. Some people are better than others. some people have more money than others to do stuff too. I myself live on a shoestring budget. I still edit 90% of my stuff on an XP computer, and I used to borrow wifi signals (with permission) to get online.
It's an adapter coupling. One end is treaded for standard black threaded pipe, usually used for running propane or natural gas to your stove or heater. The other end is a pressure fitting for flexible copper tubing.
You can take the lid and disassembled parts into your hardware store and tell them what you need

I hope people know this is illegal right? Not that I have any respect for such a law...
Depends on where you live. People around the world see my videos. In some counties it is perfectly legal. In some US states it is legal, and the states that it is not legal is only a misdemeanor offense. SELLING IT is another matter. Uncle Same doesn't get his cut and it's a felony and can get you prison time.
wcemichael You do realize in NO US STATE is it legal. NONE. if you want to distill in the US on ANY scale, it requires a permit, and a few hundred thousand dollars in bonds, fees, and utilities. The only country that I am aware of it being fully legal is New Zealand. Wow, just wow. also, i like how you mention you are tired of non-safe stills that can poison people, and yet, you keep the rubber gasket on? Good way to leech poisons into the vapor and into your spirit.
blackrave404
If you keep your nose clean and don't push your luck with large quantities that require huge stills, there should never be a problem. The only people I ever see in trouble have huge stills and run gallons at a time.
Its legal every where to make just not sell
Running Quail you, are a complete idiot.....
Great starting advice for me thanks, ime getting the bits together at home, gonna make some steam! Could I use ready to drink cider as the slop?
tired of watching people throw together a still ?
Then makes one from an Aluminium pan .
Dear me ..dont you realise that it MUST be stainless steel .
Aluminium = POISON .
d+ must try harder .
You don't understand the point of distillation??? Sure some aluminum is getting into the mash as you cook it, but for it to able to get into your final product, aluminum (remember this is a metal) would have to be able to evaporate and recondense the same as water. Now ask yourself "at what temp would alum evaporate?" Your comment requires you to change the law of physics. Show me how that can be done and I'll remove this video.
Popcorn Sutton used to put epson salts in his mash to make people sick if they stole it and drank it. When it was distilled, the epson salts were left behind.
Your comment is a Double F minus. Try thinking really hard next time.

I always knew you could use a damn pressure cooker. Now I get to throw this video in my buddies face. Thanx for the upload.
Where do you find the pipe with the fittings? The hardware stores around here don't seem to have them
Yes, you can use a pressure cooker. And you can use a plastic drum with a tight lid. Just insert a heater element for a hot water cylinder near the bottom.
I have my coil with a 7/32 I.D. my Question is will that be big enough? (for the condenser) this video was very helpful
Great video. Very simple.
you can try to wrap it around a med sided fire extinguisher first, thats what i did and it seemed to work well for me.
Had a lot of choices on YT on how to build a Still.
.....Dam Glad I Clicked on Yours!
Thank You. "Thumbs Up"
I like the first comment you have in the video about being tired of watching people throw something together and calling it a still. This video is pretty much a perfect example of that very comment. If you can get some sort of pure ethanol out of it then you are doing just fine. I have a still made out of an old SS 15.5 gallon keg and it is also just some stuff thrown together to make a still. But it works.
First. It is impossible to get a pure ethanol out of any still. There is always methanol that needs to be cut out and you can never get all the water out.
Second. I'll assume your are referring to the aluminum pot. I know aluminum is slowly eaten away by the alcohol, but know one can show me actual proof that the aluminum, which is still a solid, can evaporate and be re-condensed in the coil. The point of distilling is, after all, purification. When someone can show me proof of this, I have stated I will remove the video. So far nobody can...
"Popcorn" Sutton used to put whole entire blocks of epsom salts in his barrels of mash to purposely make people and give them the shits if they stole from his barrels for a free drink. Distilling the mash would make the alcohol safe again, yet somehow the physics change when talking about other substances.
wcemichael where did u get your adapter coupler and your pressure fitting for a solderless connection to copper tubing at?
Any hardware store will carry everything, You can take the lid in with you and ask a sales person for help to make sure of the fit.
Loved the tips on the cleaning, that'll save a lot of heart ache. Thanks bud.
I have lot of years experience building and using these. Here are a few suggestions. (1) do not use any less an inside diameter that 1/2 inch, but 5/8 ths is better, to avoid pressure problems. (2) A thermometer should be put in place of the pressure relief "jiggler" because it will allow you to gauge when the steam temperature is what you want. The alcoholic steam will start to flow at about 180 degrees. It is done when it is kicking over 210 or so degrees. This will produce, it has been my experience, about 100 proof product. (note: pure alcohol boils at 172 degrees, and water at 212 degrees at sea level. (3) keep in mind that the steam early in the boil is extremely flammable, like propane !!!!! so keep a damp bath towel handy to throw over the operation , then turn the temperature of in case of fire. (4) toss a small proportion of the first stuff to come across the boil (called fore-shots) because there can be low volatile products like methanol, acetaldehyde, perhaps acetone etc. that will be produced, especially it you are running a batch of fruit mash, but also could come from corn. Do this to avoid a hang-over.
Hint for your next tube coiling. Fill it with fine sand and it won't kink as you carefully coil it.
1 No.
Aluminum is a solid. It does not evaporate and re-condense same as liquids, however I can not prove this without spending 100s on testing. I will say it is safe enough to run a few batches so you can understand distillation better, then make upgrades. I started with a still that was worse than this. I am still alive and smart enough to bring the most info to the public.
It does affect the flavor so upgrade to stainless steel as soon as possible.
All companies use copper. I've read copper keeps down sulfates too.
I personally think a SS pot and copper condenser are the best combo.
Aluminum, while I have used it, seems to make whiskey that fights back while going down as you drink it.
I would recomend that people use stainless steel, even over copper. This includes pot and condenser, as copper easily corodes. This is mostly for example
I have also heard about aluminum being bad, and I have also heard that this is not true. I've yet to find anything conclusive on this either way. I also heard 20 years ago that copper coils would create copper sulfate, and 20 years ago I had a simular still with an aluminum coil. As you can see, I'm still alive. However I do plan to upgrade
Yes. I recommended that because of the very unlikely case of the outlets getting clogged with chunks of the mash. I don't think that would ever happen, but it might be possible.
Yea, It is recomended. You can pour the mash into a pasta strainer, if your corn particales are big enough, or use a screen type strainer. I would use 2, and keep going from one to the other because 1 strainer would get plugged easily. Then rinse your grain with a little bit of water to get out everything.
The jug won't melt.
You can take the lid into your local hardware store and ask them for a fitting (stainless steel if they have one, but don't worry to much about it) and 10 feet of flexible copper tubing that will fit into that fitting.
Places you can look. Ace. Lowe's, Home depot, Minard's.
Thank you. At least it gives people the basics.
Just wondering, if I'd use silicone tube (which is heat resistant and not chemically reactive, would that work ? My expectation would be that condensation wouldn't occur until where the silicone tube is under water but also that you needn't worry as much about the poisonous stuff you get when you use copper
I made this exact set up because of this video it works awsome but one question i used apple cider vin and it came out blue i of course scrubed and cleaned it after and am gonna run white vin but want to know if its bad to use apple cider vin?
So that is fire and pure alcohol is very flammable . Amazon sells a water distiller and you probably need to be using anyway unless you’re using bottled water. The water distiller can turn wine into moonshine without any fire.$49 it also comes with a cleaning package that is made for this purpose. Fruit or a bag of cracked corn With sugar yeast and clean water in it turns into alcohol strain the corn or fruit out after about a week. Then Transfer to a clean container put on an airlock let sit until it clears. And if you used fruit enjoy yourself you have homemade one you can distill the wine down to Brandy clear alcohol and if you used grain distill it to clear alcohol.Get a wine press.Amazon $70
Can you warm it up (not too hot) and is it bubbling? if so, no prob.
If all your yeast has stopped completely, just activate a little more dry yeast and add it to the mash. (about half of what you used the first time.
Tonight put your winter coat over it.
i use this same still and works great i make mine for personal use so this still works great not expensive and works great
I have seen dozen videos for easy solution and I must say your is the best.
Do you know how to separate methanol from the ending alcohol liquid extraction?
Copper tubing can be bent with your bare hands.
Just don't kink it. You can use a small closed end wrench to help in tight corners. Just bend it a little, move down 1/16 inch and repeat.
Great videos!!! Keep em coming!!! Don't listen to the haters. Anyway, I was wondering if you could just solder the copper tubing to the pressure cooker. Thanks!
+The OG Minecraft Bros Not this one, no. Stainless steel??? Maybe. Not sure
You could, but you'd have to fit the lid with a permanent copper or brass fitting, onto which your condenser could then be soldered. So no, it's not soldered directly to the pressure cooker, but that's the closest you'll get without doing an all-copper still
+wcemichael thank you!
+Cory Cantu thank you!
+The OG Minecraft Bros And if you do solder make sure it's silver solder
It's a fairly simple calculation. Just look to see what power your stove puts out (in kW for electric) and multiply that by how many hours you use it to get kW-hr.
Energy is charged in $/kW-hr so you can just multiply your energy usage and the rate to see what it would cost.
Since you're not controling the amount of cooling or reflux it might be helpful to add a rectifying section as well. Food for thought.
So I found a ice maker kit for a refrigerator. This has a copper coil a with brass fitting same as in video. I'm guessing if it's safe to drink from and make ice with it will be good here. It does say to not use first batch of ice to get sediment out so I'm thinking I might clean up the brass fittings and it will be good.
Thanks for your videos. Going to be visiting again for more of this useful info soon.
Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed your narration.
Great video!! One question??? Isn't the worm a bit close to the flames from the stove? Is there any chance this could cause a fire?? Thank you.....
Happy New Year!!
The only time I have problems starting a fire is from my own stupidity of not putting down a catch cup. Even then I put the fire out with a glass of water or two. There is more to worry about with a leak in the cook pot letting alcohol steam out.
Can this still also be use to make alcohol for burning in small camp stoves and such as well? im new to the scene where making alcohol is concerned, but im tired of paying through the nose for fuel for my stoves. any help would be greatly appreciated, and thanks for the detailed video, i dont drink much but i burn through alot of alcohol in my stove projects and camping trips, it would be nice to have my own source for these fules...thanks again...
Hmmm.... I've always done it by hand. It's a long task, but only needs to be done once. You'll see the coil hugs the inside of the container, keeping it in place. Famous moonshiner, "Popcorn" Sutton used a bracket ON the coil, holding everything just right. You could find something round and slightly smaller than the container you plan to use, and rap the coil around it. Don't think you need to fit the whole length of tubing in it, as you see with mine.
The main reason for using copper is that it absorbs sulfur compounds in the mash, and the output will taste better if there is copper in the vapor path.
If you don't plan to drink it, or don't care about the taste, stainless steel is fine.
A copper kettle WILL conduct heat better, but a little more fire takes care of that just fine.
It holds 1 gallon, and 1 gal of a really good mash should give you at least 1and 1/2 cups. maybe 2
But the beautiful thing is, you can be done in a couple of hours and refill it and go again, if you have more mash.
Unless I'm making wine in it's own juice container, I never make less than 3 gal.
I followed all your steps on mash making & other details. But I did not use enzymes I just boiled the corn meal till it was very soupy. If you could please give me any details on distilling or other thing I would very appreciate it. Awesome video btw
click on my icon. My main section will have a list of videos.
If you don't want to play with the enzymes, you can just add that corn to a sugar wash.
That's what I did. Will I need any kind of sealant for anything besides the bucket my worm goes in?
And does the copper come with a olive on the end of it?
Charles Hall
The fitting comes with the olive. Your local hardware store clerk can help you get the right pieces. The cooling bucket is the only thing that really needs a sealer
Okay man, Thanks for everything!
Yes. You can go larger than 1/2". I selected my size for an easy build, but don't go smaller than 1/4
I got a bunch of orchard fruit and some fruit yeast from a homemade wine store used a 5 gallon pail 1part boiling water (helps sterilize but clean first), 1 part sugar, stir, 1 part fruit, 1 part cold water to bring to lukewarm then add yeast., stir and put lid on bucket. 6weeks later wine 17.5%, this is the point the alcohol kills the yeast. Then I just freeze distilled with freezer scooping off ice that forms. Got it to about 25%. (and drank the ice too it was about 10%.)
Best pressure cooker impression I ever heard. :-)
I do a pretty good Capt Kirk too
Awesome tutorial, Im hoping to have my own up and running in the next week or so, all the questions and queries I had about home distilling have been covered in this video, the safety video and also the upgrade video, keep up the great work .. and keep shining :-)
I want to start with this version of his still. Do I need to do the stuff from the upgrade video? Or will the original work?
Hey I recently made my first batch and everything went good but I did notice one odd thing. After I made it I stuck it in my freezer over night and when I pulled it out and gave it a shake it appeared that it was"flash freezing". About the top third to a half was like a really runny slushy. Any thoughts as to why? Its fairly strong about 4 oz gets me a good buz
Seems you ran it to hot. Like temperature. Some water evaporated thru and that's why it freezes.
the pressure cooker I have is similar to yours but mine looks dull in colour idk if its stainless. do u think it will turn out ok? also I had to buy a new weight for the air release but doesn't fit the lid nipple if u will, should I file the sides to make it fit. or what do u reccomend
Looks good and simple. Going to make one, and will let you know how 'ours' works. Thanks.
So i've tried to build a similar style still, after running vinegar threw like you say in the video to clean the condenser, it ruined the pressure seal on the lid, and after boiling the new gasket to "break it in" it was all kinds of out of shape and not sealing at all... just a FYI... the rubber seals on these cookers suck... any remedy's?
I'm a total beginner so I'm trying the vodka like you suggested question is I'm using a half a gallon of vodka will I get a half a gallon of vodka back out or will there be a lot less how do I know when it's all gone out of my pot
Ohio Trucker Mr. Wright Oh, sorry I missed this comment until now.
You only run at full flame until it heats up, then turn it down. You taste it and make adjustments to the flame. When you taste nothing but water coming out, you shut it down, you don't run it till it's all gone.
It might be easier just to get a big water bottle and keep refilling it from a store that has a water filtration station. It's really much better than any home filter you can buy.
