Introduction to the AP Chemistry Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ's)

  • Students often say that the multiple choice questions (MCQ's) are the hardest part of the AP Chemistry test. And they really are tricky. The MCQ's are different from the sort of multiple choice questions that show up on most other types of exams, and they test multiple concepts at the same time. They also require some math skills and puzzle solving. Here, we work through a bunch of AP Chemistry-style multiple choice questions (MCQ's). We'll look at why they can seem so hard, and we'll look at strategies and tips for how to attack them. Usually, students see unfamiliar material, and they think that means they can't get the correct answer. Here, we'll see how you can change your mindset so that you focus on figuring out the questions, instead of simply saying, "My teacher didn't teach me this, so I can't answer it."

    Not related to this video but
    Can anyone please solve this :
    How do you convert Acetaldehyde to Acetone ?
    a) CH³MgBr, H²O, Oxidation.
    b) Oxidation, Ca(OH)², Heat.
    Answer is given option B only but can't it be done by option A as well ?

    • @bonetiredtoo
      @bonetiredtoo 9 місяців тому

      A) will work. The chain lengthening step of the Grignard will give propan-2-ol which can oxidised with potassium dichromate to propanone.
