When I first started watching your videos, and I saw 1 of 19, I laughed wondering who would sit through 19 videos. After watching all 19 videos, I believe you are an incredible instructor. Your videos have helped me tremendously. Thank you for all of the time and effort you put into your work.
It's 10 years but I'll recommend anyone who wanna learn Adobe illustrator from the basics to look for these very useful and helpful tutorials thank you sir for taking your time and organize everything for free may the lord bless you abundantly.
any university will be happy to hire someone like you with pretty handsome salary. Students are always looking for some good tutorials because they don't understand in universities like they do in paractical work
I just started checking your channel but I already know this is going to be one of the most useful ones for my entire career, you deserve really good things in your life man, you rock!
Great tutorials. Thank you so much. Be aware that some of the links have to be re-linked (Links panel) once you open the tutorial artboard file) ie. the Scan_Skull.jpg must be found in the (03>01>Assets folder and re-linked.
Hi Sir David thank you for this tutorial I just want to ask...why skull image always disappear when I click the image trace button? I use Ai CC version...thanks
Thanks for the videos, they have been helpful. I have been watching it from episode 1 however this episode and the next episode doesn't have any subtitles so is it possible to turn on CC as I am Deaf and need captions to understand it. Thanks once again for the videos
When I try to open the CS6 version, a pop-up appears saying "Could not find the linked file "Scan_Skull.jpg. Choose Replace to select another file or Ignore to leave the link unchanged." (the original scanned photo). What should I do?
JUMP TO 04:50, THERE HE STARTS TO EXPLAIN THE TOOL. (All the series is incredible. Seriously, I learned a LOT LOT LOT about this software. But what the heck in this video... speakin about "we are going to use Image Trace tool" for 5 minutes!")
Question: What if you edit the lines after using the "trace tool" just like you do when doing the "pen tool" method? wouldn't that give a similar result with less time than just using the "pen tool method"?
I cant see anchor point when I chose selection tool. When select direct selection tool then it shows anchor points on second image. On third and fourth images still can not see anchor points in either way. Any idea?
i need a help plzzz.. when ever i give trace command .. i mean i click on trace image it just vanish... and nothing remain .. every thing would just gone
The cs5 version in the projects folder is only showing one skull, the final one in the line up when I choose to open it cmyk, and the first when i open it RGB. Also when I try to open the Image trace document it says that the file was generated using a newer version of illustrator. Not sure what to do to follow the tutorial.
Hey Kareem, Sounds like a compatibility issue then. The original document was created using CC, The CS5 document was saved from CC tho specifically saved for CS5. Perhaps its not working. Apologies for that. If you do want to follow along tho, you could get the original sketch skull example from the '03 - TEST PROJECT / 01 - SET UP / ASSETS/...' folder. Place that sketch into your CS5 document and follow the tutorial. Bare in mine that for CS5 the tool will be called 'Live Trace' in CS6 and CC this tool is now called 'Image Trace'. Hope that helps.
I used the File > Place four times and was able to load each art board. I still couldn't follow along because I don't have the Image Trace tool, but I got the gist of it. Thanks for making these tutorials and for making backwards compatible files for us! Whenever I come across something I can't figure out due to being in CS5, I do a quick search online and find out how to use it. These tutorials have been the easiest way for me to learn what is possible with this tool and to get comfortable using it. I also didn't know what the shortcut keys were and am now comfortable using Zoom and such thanks to you!
hi, i need help when i copy and paste the artwork to trace it, upon pasting a a window pops that says:"the document's embedded color profile does not match the current CMYK working space..........embedded: coated GOGRA39 working: U.S. web coated" it pastes but when i trace it the image simply disappears. unless i put it on the greyscale option. thank you for your patience and could use some help.
@@joelhall649 Don't know if you already figured out a way to do it yet, but I just go to Edit --> Assign Profile. Under Profile, choose U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2 in the drop-down menu and click OK. This should do the trick.
So I was browsing Instagram and noticed your skull logo being utilized for a clothing brand, not sure about tje copyright behind the skull I figured it would be best to notify you, don't know how else to do this aside from a youtube comment. Link: instagram.com/p/Be85Bf9HakL/
