Yup, you can just add a third grid at 45° or every 30° or so as needed, all about finding what works and finding out how to use it for your needs

Select a shape by using the Direct Selection Tool and by pressing Ctrl+X to cut it and delete all the grids shape and pressing Delete from keyboard then Press Ctrl+V to paste.
