Just because it’s origin doesn’t mean all the rules are a little more lenient. A player hits the head of their opponent, with their shoulder, it’s a minimum 10 minutes in the sin bin; maximum send off. No matter the colour of the jersey, that was a send off. I understand it’s a split second decision by the defender and it may not be intentional, but it’s still a send off because the shoulder contacted the head. My grandsons’ under 8s game is refereed to penalise contact with the head. The rule is there for a reason.

Its good to hear the old hands like Wally and Trevor agreeing that the JS send-off was the right call, and not being among the whingers about "the game going soft".

problem is, wally has been pretty vocal in other podcasts about how it "ruined" the contest and they shouldve been allowed to replace suaalii

First was Luai, then May, now is Su’aāli’i.
Is there a Sãmōa player vengeance against Reece Walsh?
It’s sad though to getting it too personal and dirty!
    Sickening to to bones!

Just looking at the team line up, It's a no brainer that Billy is miles ahead of Maquire.
Qld: 2 hookers was being criticised, the response: Hunt scored two tried !!
People also question about including Cobbo ! enough said.
NSW: 4 forwards on the bench, how Maguire would love to have Mat Burton in no 14 instead.
Also, apparently Maguire has NEVER Played or involved in Origin before, no wonder !

If Reece Walsh wasn't injured so early, the final score card could be a lot more ugly for the Blues, don't forget Queensland was already leading 6-0 at the time of the send off and judging by way the Maroons were playing, plenty more points could come if Reece was still on the park.

When you play a home game, the venue and parochial crowd gives you the edge like having an extra player. So theoretically, the Suaali'i sendoff brought the game to a sort of level playing field.
NSW would do themselves a favour if they stop crying and focus on Game II.

Good to hear this after listening to the NSW leaning commentary. It was a send off for sure. The first kick Reece did they hit him late. Was disappointing as everyone wants to see Reece play. This might finally stop them from trying to take him out. Hopefully....

    • @TSinghAus
      @TSinghAus 2 місяці тому +1

They'll always target him. Reece is too good and the fact that they target him is a credit to his skill. Refs definitely need to make sure he doesn't get hit late. The same goes for all players tbh but the likes of Reece and Cleary will cop it more than anyone. Nsw should focus on their game instead of trying to kill other players. Qld plays smart football cause they have the skill to score from anywhere. Nsw lack it and try other tactics..

Gilly speaking about the 80s and 90s resulting in lesser penalties compared to 2024 is a reminder that as soon as the NRL rightly praised the mums for all the laundry and carpools and canteen work, those same ladies said ENOUGH to play that saw teens emulate men and end up in Emergency.
The rules changed with a new stakeholder at the table.

    • @freedomofchoicelover3734

Latrell and Cody have single handedly destroyed souths culture, others don't want to put their bodies on the line for them, they are responsible for more pissed than wins, great in moments, but overall destructive, play footy, not the man and stop being sook victims
