billy has to admit his mistakes and drop capewell and kaufusi. whats the point in having kaufusi if you are only going to play him 10 minutes. Could make sense if you were winning and on top, but we were gassed and needed fresh legs and somehow we got a guy only playing 10 mins?! Ridiculous.
Fifita in for capewell and to start, sua to bench.
Jensen in for kaufusi
Cobbo in for holmes
If hammer is out, gagai in for him. . .
Couldn't agree with you more. Gagai also has that aggression and can equal the likes of Crighton and Mitchell. I really want to see Fafita in for game 3 we need more size strength and go forward and fafita will definitely bring that.
Start with Kaufusi. He's an aggressive defender/ player and that's what we needed. Gagai on the bench and Fifita starting.
Pick Fifita as number 15 but start the game with him in the centres, Holmes on the bench. That would match him up against Latrell Mitchell, who gets a bit shy when big fellas stand up to him. Fifita who also be doing the carries out of trouble after the kicks. Then rest him after 10 minutes, Holmes back into centre and Fifita becomes an interchange for the forwards. Fifita has played centre before and he has a point to prove. he has to be in the team and he is fresh having not played the two previous encounters.
@@markbowman2890hahahaha Fifita in the centres lmao? Have you not seen how every SR has defended at centre this year in the NRL? It would be 10x worse in Origin.
@@goodboydaz0494 I agree totally with your point. However, I do think that it is within the scope and ability of these players to train specifically for the role he would do. he has played there before, but I do acknowledge that defending at centre is a specialised job. That is what they would have to achieve during the next camp. I know the risk, however, try to imagine Fafita lining up at centre and playing in the style of Mal Meninga. Players have to be versatile and coaches have to put uncertainty into the minds of their opposition. Ben Hunt is a halfback but at origin he plays at number 9, a different position and role. We need to develop a strong centre that runs like a tank and defends like a castle. The Blues centre pairing will always include a Mitchell and/or a Turbo. Holmes is good but he does not create any real fear or uncertainty into his opposite number. The hammer does, because they know his speed is too good for them. We don't need a geriatric Gagai or a utility like Capewell. Our best players include game-breakers like Fafita, Ponga and Cobbo. At some poit they may all be available and in form at the same time.If you try to include all them in your team then how are you going to do it? let's think creatively.
Me personally I'd have Fafita in next game over either Kapewell or Kefusi. QLD needs more size and go forward
100 % ran over and through Queensland. To small. Capewell and kafusi never up to STO these days

As a NSWelshman, absolutely. Your boys got put on the bitch by Spencer, Trell, and Martin. Reece looked too scared to run in the first half, and if you lot don’t get some mongrel this will happen repeatedly.
Fifita & Cobbo must be in the decider. Billy listen to the fans cries. MAROONS ALL THE WAY
Not sure about the complete dominance of NSW - yes they were good - but it looked to me like the ref and the bunker were keen to give NSW a leg up to level the series. They had the 1st 4 dubious penalties and 3 or 4 dubious 6 agains to get them going. By then the game was gone, the ref then compensated a bit but the bunker kept on delivering for NSW.

The Blues showed no mercy, take no prisoners mentality. Surely we can do better.
We were light up front close to defending our lines. We need the likes of Fifita to make an impact close to the line.
Even punch through the line to put Walsh into space. Both Hammer & Walsh weren't given that opportunity to run amok.
Our best assets were sitting idly which could have been utilised.
To see the fans came by the drove all wearing the Maroons. We didnt give them the respect.
I'm sure they were all Victorians. They were all sea of Maroons more than the Blues.
My advice to Billy is to get some players like Gagai into that for Game 3. So bring it on and hope we win this series.

Man gagai got embarrassed by latrell the last series he played, I think it'll be the same outcome if he plays defence he's pretty bad
When the Axe says, "that's just my opinion," and he is talking tackling, every player ought to mark that spot on the video and listen to it over and over again. He just gave the key to winning #3.

In my opinion I think Kapewell out cobbo and fafita in kafusi at 18th man and if hammer can’t play put cobbo in with gags on the bench. Can’t wait for the decider!! QLDERRR❤

I viewed game 2 from PNG & noted that qld played their hearts out with pride while nsw played with intense hatred. Out of hatred nsw intentionally planned to injure opponent players. Referee & bunker tolerated these with intent. Not sin binning nor penalising dirty players. Yet finding means to give penalties & unnecessary 6 sets against qld. Referee Klein should not be involved any origin game again. Qld should not make changes unless necessary, otherwise ref handed the game to nsw in the first half.

Showed great moral character the way he manhandled a much smaller young man who like him just wants to play to his ability. He can't control his emotions Walsh showed extreme maturity the way he handled so much grubby tactics while he he was tackled. NSW are going deter a lot of mothers allowing their sons to enter into that environment where they want to physically harm the opposition

That’s what these QLD talking heads don’t get. Hammer scored again but once again against 12 on the field during the double sin bin. So basically they can’t create an overlap against 13.

@@hansneggsit’s only bad if the ref is going to call it. NSW were absolute grubs shoulder charging, going high, taking players out off the ball etc… but it did exactly what it was meant to do and if the maroons don’t fight fire with fire they’ll get bullied again in game 3.
@@MLR884 it should’ve never happened. You can intuitively tell that the nsw will come out with war and aggression.
I find it hard to believe that this wasn’t talked about amongst the maroons all week leading up.

Love Val bit gotta plug that hole between him and dce. Bring in cobbo or gagai for val. If hammer is fit id put him in fullback and Coobo and Gagai in the centers. Walsh is a weapon but he looked a bit tentative and he is targeted and thrown around like a rag doll. Fifits needs to come in for Capewell, we need more go forward.
I believe that Mitchell needs to be marked with a big mobile player like Fifita. They could do this for the first 10 minutes by keeping Val fresh on the bench, then interchanging him back into the centre. Fifita gets 10 minutes to get physical with kick returns and strong defence on the right edge. I can't picture Mitchell smiling if he has to stop charging dave, who is very quick as well. After Fifita's rest on the bench he becomes a forward interchange. The only loss in this plan is that they won't have Val as their kicker for that first 10 minutes. But there is another advantage because he is good cover for any injury to an outside back. NSW may counter my Fifita strategy by kicking in behind him and testing his ability to get back. If they only play his first stint for 10 minutes he should be able to play flat out. They need intensity and to send a message to any Blue player who has read too much about how good they are.

Queensland were on the back foot from the get go, a penalty and 3 six agains 15 metres out, anybody is going to score on those numbers, actually Qld held them out until the next set, they were gassed after that defensive effort and NSW had their tails up, Qld won the second half convincingly and will be hard to beat at Suncorp. I wouldn’t change much, Reececwas a little gun shy but will be back to his best at home, no need to panic.
Yes, not enough said about those six agains, one second either way refs call, what a load of rubbish in my book. especially on a late tackle, makes it even worse in origin.
Cobbo must have kicked Billy's dog or something, he should have been in Game 2 and must be in Game 3
David Fifita is not the answer, he goes missing at Origin. AJ Brimson is a must in, tough as nails. No more Cowboys players, they look busted. Valentine has been good over the years, it is time to stand aside.
Aj spends half his season on the physio bench, and isn’t even in the titans squad because of injuries. As for going missing, could you even spot kaufusi on the field?. Fifita is the right matchup in game 3

Forget all the excuses - Qld was flat as a tack and you could tell they were going to get flogged after 10 mins. Capewell and Kafusi??? Here's a novel thought for game 3 - how about tackling around the legs? Bit harsh blaming the Coach for wrong tactics when his players can't tackle. I've watched every Origin game and this was the most pathetic "effort" I've ever seen.
It was apparent that they were flat when they kicked on tackle 5. The chase was there but only just, no defensive intensity. Moses can kick the ball a long way, so you have to pin them in their own 30m otherwise you will be on your own line (as we saw, again and again). Cherry Evans did not kick well on Wednesday and he missed having the bigger boot of Munster.
QLD came out in the 2nd half to start fights to slow the game down, and Klein was given the brief at half time to penalise NSW every time QLD starts a fight.

I agree totally. Latrell only did what a centre was supposed to do. he tried to show how tough he was by dropping Holmes and falling on him. Unfortunately he is part of the media narrative so they sensationalise all his plays. He has talent but he is not unstoppable, he is slower than the Hammer and he can't jump as high as Coates. His flick pass was a Gidley copy.
LM was playing so relaxed. He'll run over the QLDers in game 3. They (NSW) allowed the Queenslanders to score in the second half because they knew they already won. Otherwise it would have been ZERO.
Walsh is a def worry his been beaten to a pulp physically and you can see he doesn’t want the contact both offsensively and defensively

Pretty rare for players to return from concussion and play out of their skin during the first game back. It was always going to be a tough ask, he would have been way better if he had got at least one club game in before Origin.
im a full on NSW fan. Anyway about your worry factor mate.... you think RW really earned the Maroons jersey and does really deserve to be given the first pick perk for the most fragile position on the field?
@@swoopy287 his flashy plays at club level has always overshadowed his deficiencies in defence but at origin elite level it’s getting exposed his lack of physicality they bullied him like a child and he played like it.
One thing for sure the 3rd game will give us the answer this series. Can't wait for Suncorp!

I am not sure they would get away with it. I like the other idea of using the rib busting tackle. Maybe players are wary of using it because if they miss by an inch they can be in all sorts of trouble if its goes slightly high. There are also referees that will penalise a legal tackle just because the player got winded. It often works best early in the tackle count because it is like getting a repeat set.

i know this will buzz you out but, the blues actually kept the basics on point 😂. that was enough to make the maroons knock off work early.
@@swoopy287 I agree. Their speed at the play the ball was annoyingly fast. It was nearly like touch football where the play the ball happens before you get back onside. I don't agree with how some players manipulate the ruck by taking an extra half pace forward that interferes with the markers getting into position. Likewise, some players don't accept when they are tackled, so it is difficult for a defender to let go because they just keep running. Nine times out of ten the defender is penalised for not letting go or interfering with person playing the ball. For example, Edwards was caught in a dominant tackle but got up still struggling, stepped to the side and tried to play the ball. he got the penalty on review. Players should play the ball on the spot, not use the ruck as a way or progressing forward. There should be no forward movement other than stepping over the ball. Some refs pull players back but it is very inconsistent when it happens so frequently.
