I'm going to buy multiples of this, one for me, one for the parts, and several as gifts. If for no other reason, buy this to prove to Lego that this is the way to go! Compact sets with lots of function at an affordable price! The gigantomania with huge hollow structures and almost no functionality must stop. I wont be buying the Mc Larren F1 for the same reason. A license and an empty shell is not want I look for in technic. Keep that for the racers series.
Yeah, I think that licenced sets are an unfortunate result of Lego catering to their own needs and the needs of other companies first and consumers second. It may give both companies a fresh bit of exposure, but inflated price tags only harms the consumer and turns them off buying your product. I miss the days when technic sets were all completely original.
Great review as always. Huge thumbs up for re-recording the video instead of just saying sorry there will be a dog barking through the video. I was looking forward for this set and now after your review I want it even more
Had a similar feeling after the reveal. Really glad it didn't disappoint, and the chainsaw is such a great inclusion. Side note. Stripped down, and repurposed this would make for a fantastic base for a minifig 6x6 APC. Having built one previously with a technic/brick based chassis, this is much better thought out/stable, and the suspension perfect.
The 2 cylinder is a boxer, not a flat, or inline. It means the cylinders move in direct opposition to each other, or placed opposite to each other. I did a bad job of explaining it, but you get the idea. It can theoretically conserve more energy due to the centrifugal force of one piston “pushing” the other. It also acts as sort of a flywheel, making it easier to keep revvs up. It sounds good too.
It really happened! Finally a technic set, that is worth it's money. I mean: Many functions, no License, 6 Wheels, Differentials, a piston engine, 6 shocks, suspension, even some accessories like wood and the chainsaw... let's be honest... that thing has more to offer than the D11 ;) Lego still knows how to do it. This will be my first new Technic set that I buy from Lego after three years! Thank you once again for this great review!
Was going to pass on this set.... after watching this review, I might have to reconsider. I love me a good and dense technic build! Gives me the same feelings as the recent tow truck set.
I like this. I dislike when the sets require Bluetooth or some app, because it takes the timelessness away from LEGO. In 20 years there is no Bluetooth and the apps won't work with the OS of the time, so the sets will be useless, ruined. Sets like this, all manual and analogue, that is what LEGO should be! I did buy the Speed Champ Koenigsegg but have not build it, but other than that, this will be my first Technic set!
Exactly. I hate how the Control+ system drives up the price so much, while also removing a lot of the manual/unique functions from the build. Its why I like my 42082 Rough Terrain Crane (Big Red) so much. It uses a single motor for functions but everything is hand controlled on the model with a huge gearbox selector. Its amazing how many functions they were able to pack into a model while using only one motor, and if it were released as a Control+ set, the price would nearly be double what it was.
You have a great point about just fully mechanical lego sets being great since you don't need some external device to control it, but I don't think the situation is so dire that you describe. Bluetooth is so ubiquitous, I don't think there won't be a way to use it 20 years down the road. Think of it like printer or vga ports, those are already nearing 40 years old and there are plenty of ways to get those connected to modern systems. And the apps? Lego has published the specifications of the communications protocol used in the hubs, I wrote my own app that can control powered up hubs no problems and there is no reason why this program can't run in 20 years, either using emulation or some kind of compatibility layer. Just looking at how 3rd party support is for the old RCX command bricks and how lego now has way more support for 3rd party developers, I really don't think you need to worry about the sets being completely useless or ruined.
Well it's at least the best Technic set of 1H2022 as far as we know. It even has a tailgate and cargo, something that was apparently too expensive for the John Deere trailer to incorporate. I wonder who the designer behind this awesome set is.
Honestly technic has been may favourite lego line up since I was a kid and now with this I am proudly say that this will be one of the best Christmases I have ever had
Thanks to this review, I bought this set and was definitely not disappointed. It's a fantastic set chock-full of functions and features, all at a reasonable price point because there's no IP.
Thanks for the review! Good on Lego for getting the gear box right. 4:25 I wish Lego would include function sanity checks in their building instructions.
My wife got me this set for christmas and I adore it! I only recently started buying Lego as an adult and this set gave a huge jump start for my piece collection. Too bad I'm too noob of a builder to know how to use them elsewhere.
Quite nice model, but for me the highlight of technic 2022 still is the small motorcycle. Also the older big cars (8880, 8865) had correct gears, but technic was different back then...
If by the small motorcycle you mean that little red Cruiser-looking one with the working chain, then Hell Yes. I bought two and made both of the versions (the main one in the booklet and the online instructions one) and they both look GREAT together.
Yo, I didn't even know this was coming and I LOVE it! I'm a big fan of functionality, and this set is packed with functions for only 80 dollars! Hallelujah!
RacingBrick, your end comment is stated perfectly; this is the best Lego Technic set of 2022-By a LONG SHOT. The design is simple, utilizing the space within the ATV with superior formatting.
Can't say I care much for how it looks, but the build and the functions are surprisingly great! And that's what Technic should be all about. And indeed, Chainsaw! So yeah, I fully agree: best Technic set of 2022 so far, although the 42132 Chopper is a close second.
the only issue I have with how this suspension works is the fixed pivot. There's no actual up & down for the vehicle, just side to side. If it jumped from a flat ramp onto a flat surface there'd be no suspension in play, all the force would just be applied to where the axle pivots. I have sets that have individual wheel suspension that allow for both side-to-side AND vertical shock absorption. And I can't see it being too hard to apply it to THIS set too. Otherwise, I'd look for this set in stores for sure. Until then though, I'd wait till someone else figures out how to modify the suspension to allow the axles to move up & down as well as rotate.
Thank you for video and i agree - best technic set. And also its nice to get some new sort of vehicle than things we usuwały get. Cuz well this sort of ATV exist and its nice that it get chance to be lego technic set
Already have the 42132, built it and planning to get at least 3 of it any time soon. Will be doing the same with this kit, this one looks more "dense" than the wrangler
Not sure if the BMW M1000RR gearbox is a mistake because the bike was designed more as a track bike compared with the S1000RR, and track bikes usually come with inverted shift for better ground clearance when shifting mid corner. The lego set only comes with 3 gears and with 1 neutral in the middle, so it might be an “it’s a feature not a bug” situation.
I’m your opinion what is the most detailed in terms of legitimate automotive functions on a currently available technic set? I think this one because it’s got suspension, 2 differentials, an engine, transmission. But i dont know what all is currently available
I would definitely buy two LEGO Technic 42139 ATVs. One for making the main model to enjoy playing with it, and the other one to make the awesome unusual b-model and make a video about it. By the way, can you tell me please how to make your own LEGO building instructions? Basically which software should I use?
Some vehicles are great to become technic models and some are not. This all terrain vehicle not only looks beautiful but the functionality and detail are worthy of a technic set. I'm sorry but the technic supercars are not that nice looking to me and for the price of those sets, I expect more in the design and look aspect. If you can marry technic style and creator expert style for the supercar models not only will the car look real good external design wise (Technic supercars look like skeletons if you know what I mean) you also get the mechanical details as well. This is just my opinion. Great video and I can't wait for your John Deer tractor technic video as that is another beautiful technic model that is being released soon.
If our "taxman" is nice to me and accepts some of the returns I asked for, i will get this set! And most of all: thanks for yet a another great and very enjoyable review! Keep up the good work.
Great video! All the little chainsan jokes...whenever ANY set has a chainsaw, it’s an instant winner! Why? Because it’ll just SHRED the competition! 🤣🤣 Anyway, I agree with you, this is a fantastic, pure Technic set! If someone can make it RC, then the cool and fun factor would be through the roof, although you have VERY limited space in there, you’ll have to place the battery in the bed, and maybe get rid of a function or two, but I’ve seen designers make small sets RC!
Great review! Gotta tell my dogs to stop barking now... ;)
Lol thanks :) Greetings to the hamsters, they are always nice and quiet :)
:)
Imagine if u 2 actually were nehibours (my English is crap lol)
Haha
Siema sariel!!!
This set proves that Lego CAN, when they WANT. Thx for the great review.
I'm actually loving the price for it too!!
I totally agree, the Chainsaw is fantastic. Quad? Which Quad?....😉
@@brixxter7184 Now they _have to_ make a bigger, motorised version of the chainsaw. :)
@@antisoda bro a Lego technic set thats a chainsaw would be cool. Imagine it being motorized to make the chain work.
@@antisoda...but only with automatic Emegency Stop. Safety First 👍.

And you’ll buy me one too right😂😂
I'll be happy to take one of those extras you buy
My birthday is on the 16th, just an FYI…
Yeah, I think that licenced sets are an unfortunate result of Lego catering to their own needs and the needs of other companies first and consumers second. Still dont like the amount of stickers or the unnecessary multitude of colors when there should be black/gray parts..
Great review as always. Huge thumbs up for re-recording the video instead of just saying sorry there will be a dog barking through the video.
I was looking forward for this set and now after your review I want it even more

Pure technic for pure fans 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Was going to pass on this set.... after watching this review, I might have to reconsider. I love me a good and dense technic build! Gives me the same feelings as the recent tow truck set.
They feel like they were primarily designed by the same person or team
The Ducati had a proper 2 speed + N before this set. When in 1st, the engine output was faster than in 2nd

This set captures its real-life counterpart exceptionally well for its size. I've proudly bought it.

Best thing in the world can’t wait to buy it
Your excitement's pretty priceless ☺️...when lego technic makes a close to perfect set 🙏🏼
Thanks to this review, I bought this set and was definitely not disappointed. It's a fantastic set chock-full of functions and features, all at a reasonable price point because there's no IP.
Thanks for the review! Good on Lego for getting the gear box right.

It has so many functions. This one is a gem.
Imagine just buying this technic set just for the chainsaw😂😂
My wife got me this set for christmas and I adore it! I only recently started buying Lego as an adult and this set gave a huge jump start for my piece collection. Too bad I'm too noob of a builder to know how to use them elsewhere.
Very good and compact set, thank you for this excellent review 😍❤️👍
This set is beautiful!
The enthusiasm with which you said The Chainsaw... that's why I love this channel
Quite nice model, but for me the highlight of technic 2022 still is the small motorcycle. Also the older big cars (8880, 8865) had correct gears, but technic was different back then...
Yeah, the 8880 even has four correct gears ( it's even harder to push in 4 :o ) with neutral and differentials in both axles and in between!
If by the small motorcycle you mean that little red Cruiser-looking one with the working chain, then Hell Yes. I bought two and made both of the versions (the main one in the booklet and the online instructions one) and they both look GREAT together.
Thanks for confirming, I was going to say I thought 8880 did it correctly.
Great review of an awesome set. I will definitely have to get one. Keep up your amazing work
1 of the few technic sets from this first wave that I’ve actually been interested in buying
Great review thank you. This is on my list to order along with 76910 & 76907 on March 1. Interesting to see the build and what you think of it
Totally agree, looking forward to it!
This set looks interesting! Thanks for the detailed review
great set! the fact it has two differentials and so many gears makes it a great purchase even just for parts
Yo, I didn't even know this was coming and I LOVE it! I'm a big fan of functionality, and this set is packed with functions for only 80 dollars! Hallelujah!
wow, before your review I was not a fan of this set. but now after watching I am impressed
Love your videos, I’m always looking forward to them, big fan of technic myself, always seeking for the upcoming sets, keep up the great work
This set and the 2 monster jam trucks and the small motorcycle are the only technic worth buying this year so far.
I am strongly impressed by how they could pack so much stuff in such a small space
Same here, it captures the functionality of an ATV SO well for a set of < 1 000 pieces
I really like the suspension in this set. very nicely done
I bought this set and I love it. I recently built the trophy truck version of it.
Yes, I too have to look back through the instructions sometimes to find out what I missed. Oops. LOL. Nice set thank you for the video.
That's definitely a really nice TECHNIC set!
Really looking forward to getting this set.
Will be getting this set for sure
I have been looking at this and the John deer tractor. Both really look amazing. But I think you are right with that chainsaw .
I had ordered it and it's going to come today , I am very excited 🎉
RacingBrick, your end comment is stated perfectly; this is the best Lego Technic set of 2022-By a LONG SHOT. The design is simple, utilizing the space within the ATV with superior formatting.
i bought this set a few weeks ago, its insane with how many gears it uses, to spin the wheels
great little build
Can't say I care much for how it looks, but the build and the functions are surprisingly great! And that's what Technic should be all about. And indeed, Chainsaw! So yeah, I fully agree: best Technic set of 2022 so far, although the 42132 Chopper is a close second.
Lego: makes correct gearbox and chainsow
RacingBrick: *BEST SET*
Lego: noted
I will use this with a Bionicle figure

I know what I want for Christmas this year
Love ur content man keep it up
I'll will get one for sure. Al lest. Another great review.
You may have to explain to any younger American viewers what a gear shifter in a car is, since most American cars only have 2 pedals 😁
Thank you for video and i agree - best technic set. And also its nice to get some new sort of vehicle than things we usuwały get. Cuz well this sort of ATV exist and its nice that it get chance to be lego technic set
Damn!, a really great model, much better the we all excepted ! LOVE IT😆
hi racingbrick this set is so cool hope you enjoyed doing the shock obsorbers that is incredibly cool.
Very important question here. Can it fit perfectly on Car Transporter lower deck?
Already have the 42132, built it and planning to get at least 3 of it any time soon. Will be doing the same with this kit, this one looks more "dense" than the wrangler
Gonna get one of these, it's not that expensive and especially the parts are amazing, I could really use those
I laughed when he was building the chainsaw when he was saying "the icing on the cake the cherry on the quad the CHAINSAW "
Best LEGO Technic EV. ER!
I have it and I can say, it is my biggest and most complicated lego set I have ever built
The gears are right on the Ducati Panigale too (though it is possible to build it wrong and end up with 1st up/2nd down)!
This set looks very interesting!
Another set where the gearbox worked as it should be, was in the 8880 technic car @Racingbrick.
Yeah, that was like ages ago, I was referring to the "modern" Technic sets :)
Chainsaw is the main reason to buy it) really great set)
Great video! Thank you
This is an amazing set for price and functionality - I just wish it looked a bit cooler!
Nice video!!!
Got this for a 7th birthday. Can't wait 🎂
i want to buy one of these but im too poor and I can only get it from the online shop
Now I wanna go and build my 1996 Polaris 6x6 in Lego.
I am going to have one for my birthday, but how long dose it take to build the whole
2 hour
I’m your opinion what is the most detailed in terms of legitimate automotive functions on a currently available technic set? I think this one because it’s got suspension, 2 differentials, an engine, transmission. But i dont know what all is currently available
1:14 i actually saw one at a nearby target not too long ago
Polaris Big Boss! I want this set, i have an older one of these irl! really tough little machine.
nice video. well done!!!
Impressive.
yeah, this set's great :)
Finaly a Technic set I can throw my money at… Wonders are happening
Ash from the housewares department fully approves this Lego set!
I would definitely buy two LEGO Technic 42139 ATVs. One for making the main model to enjoy playing with it, and the other one to make the awesome unusual b-model and make a video about it. By the way, can you tell me please how to make your own LEGO building instructions? Basically which software should I use?
The easiest to learn nowadays is probably Stud.io, but I don't really like it. I use LDCad + LPub3D
@@RacingBrick Thanks for the recommendation.
Fun fact, Milan Reindl helped design that chainsaw!
I wish I could afford one, let alone a second one as a parts pack!
Juts bought this on clearance for 45 bucks. It's so cool
so if it’s not a quad, is it a hex?
I really love that you don't cut out the "missing piece" bit! Haha glad there's more humor injected to the videos, your excitement is showing 🤣
I hef dem too i love the set❤❤

cant wait to buy it and motorise it with c+
I wish I had your shelving system. I have all these massive technic sets but I’m not sure where or how to store them
Hi, this is a great set. Where can get that battery box and motor that you show in your videos please?
You can get them on lego.com, look under the Powered Up section
i hadn’t seen any news about this i was very confused when i was got them in walmart yesterday (i unload trucks)
which lego technic set has a Transparent engine cylinders?
Numbers of them,42127 Batmobile,42130 BMW M1000 RR and 8466 4x4 Offroder
Great video! All the little chainsan jokes...whenever ANY set has a chainsaw, it’s an instant winner! Why? How many parts go into the chainsaw and the lumber thingis? Love the set but Im glad I got all pieces already. Would buy it if it was cheaper.
