This performance always intrigues me. This and In My Bed were two popular singles that Amy stopped singing live altogether. Especially past 2006. Every time I listen to this one circumstance though, I know Amy was just Amy, but her appearance, vocal technique and tone had evolved so much that hearing her sing it just a few years later was almost like hearing a different person sing it. Amy was known to rarely ever rehearse. It's partially what made her so genius in her ability to never sing something the same way twice, and 9 times out of 10 it sounded incredible. She was 100% real and "take me as I am" describes her perfectly. Added to her not having to sing this live since the promotion of Frank a couple of years prior, it's no wonder she forgot the words. She called it. This was ultimately cut from the TV/DVD concert if I'm remembering correctly. I sort of understand from the production stand point, maybe they didn't want Amy to be embarrassed or had to cut for time, but from a fan's standpoint, this is just Amy being Amy and I wouldn't think twice about this if it weren't cut from the original televised special. She was imperfectly perfect and extremely human. Never played it up for the cameras or crowd. A genuine, generous, clever, loving, GENIUS individual and I miss her so much. Music needs Amy now more than ever.
@Big Boss Where does she say that? I don't recall... the Back to Black album was more pop I think. Frank was more jazzy, and better in my opinion (maybe part of why it didn't become as famous).

It's all kinda sad actually, that she never made the album exactly how she wanted it. I guess I should try listening to more of her live stuff at the time, cuz maybe it was more true.
She wasn’t trying to sing high, but her vocals soar up anyway. That’s when you know someone has a unique and beautiful voice. When their low notes sound like their up in the clouds
The difference between the 2003 version and 2007 version of her is really interesting. Sort of like a time warp in terms of image. I really appreciate her talent so much by learning her tunes. If only life could have went more smoothly for her, if only, if only. What a lovely voice she gave us to remember.
